The city ofLubbock, Texas, held elections formayor and city council on May 7, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 19, 2016. Four of six council seats were up for election on the same day, the three regularly-scheduled for election and District 1, which was up for a special election.
