Bailey Aldrich
Bailey Aldrich (1907-2002) was afederal judge for theFirst Circuit and theUnited States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He joined the First Circuit in 1959 after an appointment fromDwight Eisenhower. He joined theDistrict of Massachusetts in 1954 after an appointment fromDwight Eisenhower. Prior to service he was a private practice attorney. He assumed senior status on August 31, 1972 and served until his death on September 25, 2002.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments
First Circuit
Nominated byDwight Eisenhower, Aldrich filled a seat vacated byCalvert Magruder in this new appointment. He was confirmed by the Senate on September 9, 1959, and received his commission onSeptember 10th. He served as chief judge from 1965-1972, assumedsenior status onAugust 31, 1972. He continued service until his death onSeptember 25, 2002.He was succeeded to this position byLevin Hicks Campbell.[1]
District of Massachusetts
PresidentDwight Eisenhower nominated Judge Bailey to the District of Massachusetts on April 1, 1954, to a new seat created by 68 Stat. 8. He was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on April 23, 1954, and received his commission onApril 27, 1954. His service on the court ended onSeptember 14, 1959, following a February 26, 1959 appointment by Dwight Eisenhower to theFirst Circuit. Aldrich was succeeded in this position byAnthony Julian.[1]
