Alabama Local Statute Amendment (1980)

TheAlabama Local Statute Amendment, also known asAmendment 2, was on the ballot inAlabama onNovember 19, 1980, as alegislatively referred constitutional amendment. It wasapproved. It proposed that statutes enacted prior to January 13, 1978, that apply to local areas based upon population statistics should not become invalid due to a population change reflected in a later census or because the statute was not properly advertised.[1]
