TheAlabama Boll Weevil Eradication Amendment, also known asAmendment 2, was on the ballot inAlabama onNovember 6, 1984, as alegislatively referred constitutional amendment. It wasapproved. It proposed to amend the constitution to authorize the creation of a nonprofit organization to lead the effort to eradicate the boll weevil in the cotton crop. It also authorized the voluntary levying of an assessment on cotton growers to fund the nonprofit.[1]
