    On November 2, 2004, voters in34 states took action on a total of162 ballot measures.[1]

    The most common measure offered to voters weresame-sex marriage bans which appeared on eleven statewide ballots--inArkansas,Georgia,Kentucky,Michigan,Mississippi,Montana,North Dakota,Ohio,Oklahoma,Oregon andUtah. (All eleven passed).
