He is one of the youngest deities in the realms, and only came into power roughly a decade ago during theTime of Troubles. OnBoareskyr Bridge he slewBhaal with the help ofMask, in the form of the swordGodsbane, and stole his portfolio. He also acquired the portfolios ofMyrkul andBane after their demise.

At the end ofChapter Nine, the protagonist has a vision of Cyric murdering Bhaal withGodsbane, when they crossBoareskyr Bridge.
Throne of Bhaal[]
He makes an appearance inChapter 9 of ToB, during the fourth test of thePocket Plane, in which he questions theprotagonist about the potential threat they pose to him as the current god of murder. He then summons a few of his faithful to "test" them before disappearing.
