birdlivesmatter I know NIN remastered this. But This is so good. Its a terrifying soundscape into the unknown. It's awesomeFavorite track: Growls Of The Lost (Level - Castle Of The Damned).

Michael Alan DeRuiter So brutal... reminds me of Wolf Eyes. Or that one track on Aaron Dilloway's Modern Jester. Best to classify this, when divorced from the game, as harsh noise ambient. Yet it makes me feel keenly interested in the topic of composing for third-generation Nintendo home consoles.Favorite track: Quake N64 Theme.

mariteaux The superior Quake soundtrack, no contest. Grimy, crunchy, nasty, and fits on an N64 cartridge.Favorite track: Soul Eaters (Level - The Necropolis).

In 1998, Quake was brought to Nintendo 64 by Midway Games. The challenge for me from the audio perspective was in how to deliver an aggressive and edgy sound using very low quality (small) samples. I used less samples in the music and reused sound effects as instrument samples at times. I really liked how it came together and the game is one of my favorite works. I had always wondered what could have been if there were less restrictions so I recently created two new remixed tracks to find out! One last note, in some cases I have purposely used distortion and sonic degradation in the tracks, no your speakers are not screwed up...I am.

this album, paired with Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal, laid the foundations of what my music taste is today. i listened to it so goddamn much that a lot of the songs are ingrained in my mind. i will 1000% percent buy a cd or vinyl when it comes out. even though Dusk is a masterpiece of a game, and one of my favorites of all time, the soundtrack is easily the best part of it all.cmkr_05

I love the Buckethead OST as much as the next guy, but this album right here is DOOM music at its finest. It's just as worthy of praise, and another fine example of just how good James Paddock is at putting his own spin on DOOM-style MIDI music.trustworthytim1313
