Kevin Harvick, driver of the Richard Childress Racing No. 29, betterlearn to control his temper. After sitting out Sunday's Virginia 500 atMartinsville, NASCAR followed up his punishment with a $35,000 fine andextended his probation until December 31st.
Harvick's troubles began while running in the Busch Series race atBristol earlier this year. He was wrecked by longtime rival Greg Bifflewhile racing for position. Following the race, Harvick jumped over a car, grabbed Biffle's uniform and heatedly argued his case. No punches werethrown. However, he was placed on probation until August 28th and fined$15,000.
His most recent exchange came in Saturday's Advance Auto Parts 250, aCraftsman Truck Series event. Harvick was racing Joe Gibbs Racing driverCoy Gibbs, when Gibbs got into the back of Harvick's No. 6 Dodge. Laterin the race, Harvick retaliated on the No. 20 and spun out Gibbs.
NASCAR immediately parked Harvick and carried the "parking" over toSunday's Winston Cup race. Kenny Wallace took over behind the wheel ofthe 29 Chevy.
If Harvick has any further incidents that are "detrimental tothe sport," or any physical confrontations, as with Biffle, he will besuspended indefinitely.
