How to bid for a tender

1. Register in Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS)

All our open tenders will be advertised on GETS . If you are interested in our open tendered opportunities, you should also register on GETS and select the type of notifications you want to receive.

As a registered supplier you can:

• receive email notification of any new tenders we publish
• download and view the documentation
• participate in tender forums to seek clarifications or to ask questions.

2. Read and respond to a tender

The Request for Tender/ Proposal (RFx) published on GETS will provide:

• information about the requirements and the contract terms and conditions
• request for Tender or Proposal terms and conditions
• specific Health and Safety pre-qualification or Health & Safety accreditation requirements for contract works or services where H&S risk is considered to be high.

Once an Auckland Transport tender has been published on GETS, all communications, including tender addendums and any tender forum questions and answers will be issued by the relevant Auckland Transport Point of Contact via the GETS and will arrive at the tenderer’s email address from the GETS address: noreply@gets.govt.nz

3. Evaluation and negotiation

We will evaluate responses using the method and criteria set out in the tender document. This may include presentations and site visits, if required.

4. Contract awarded

We will notify successful and unsuccessful participants of the outcome. We will finalise the contract document and it will be signed by both parties.

We will publish contract details in accordance with our policy of openness and transparency on ourawarded contracts webpage.

5. Commencement of contract

Suppliers should only start work after a contract has been fully signed. We will evaluate performance according to the terms of the contract.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, Auckland Transport, as well our suppliers must proactively manage purchased services to ensure workers and other people (including customers) are not put at risk from work carried out under those contracts.

We are obliged to check and ensure that our suppliers are meeting any agreed health and safety standards and requirements.
