Give my game a second chance!
Hi, for the past couple of days my game has been getting 0–1 views and zero downloads. I recently released a prototype we’d been developing with friends for several years, and as of today any player interest has completely faded.
I’m sure this is relatable to many, and developers on itch.io run into this regularly, but the overall situation has me discouraged. I’m afraid the game might not have a chance anymore, and the upcoming major update will just sink into oblivion, and nothing will change.

I’m afraid a big part of the problem is that the first version shipped with several critical bugs that could break everything; there was no prologue, and the difficulty progression worked incorrectly. Those who played didn’t understand what was going on, they were disappointed, and after that the game was no longer interesting to them.
X: I didn’t initially expect it to drive a lot of traffic, but the outcome turned out much worse than I’d hoped. I suspect that after posting links to the project, X (Twitter) significantly reduced the reach of our posts.
(X) 400+ followers -> boom!
In thesecond version I fixed a lot: it now has a prologue, a whole set of fixes, progression and the event director work correctly, and the project finally feels like an actual game!
Yes, it’s still a small prototype with only a few minutes of gameplay, but now it works as intended.
Please give it a try and share your impressions and ideas. This is very important to me, and in the meantime I’ll keep working on the major update.
