MAJOR GIVING

MAJOR GIVING

The National Museum of the United States Army honors the history and heritage of the American Soldier. Now that the Museum is open to the public, The Army Historical Foundation still continues to raise funds to support new projects like the Memorial Garden, and continued programming enhancements. The latest fundraising campaign in commemoration of the Army and America’s 250th anniversary is also a unique way to engage in our Circles of Distinction program as a major gift supporter.

History is made every day. To ensure we never forget the lessons of our past the Museum is constantly updated and expanded, offering new exhibits, events, and experiences. With dozens of corporate donors and hundreds of individual supporters on the Museum’s Donor Wall (minimum donation of $50,000) we will continue to raise funds needed in this ambitious effort.

Preserve the heritage. Educate the future.

Circles of Distinction

The Army Historical Foundation’s (AHF) top supporters are the Circles of Distinction donors whose strong support has helped the Capital Campaign raise the funds to build the National Museum of the United States Army. This exclusive group of committed individuals, foundations, and corporations have their names displayed on the massive granite wall in the Museum Lobby. Pledge commitments start at $50,000 and go up to beyond $5,000,000. The donors are listed on the wall by financial commitment. Donors who give above the $150,000 threshold are eligible to support an exhibit within a gallery and have their name listed on a corresponding gallery plaque.

"My family was fortunate enough to have served the nation and its Army in close combat in the Civil War, the Vietnam War, and Operation Desert Storm among many other episodes of service. It was our greatest privilege and honor. Our unique civil-military traditions and heritage are important components of civic education in the United States. I am thrilled to help the Army Historical Foundation and the Museum make these stories accessible to the entire public and visitors from around the world."
The Honorable Dr. John F. Hillen, III
"This is an opportunity to show respect for all of those who have worn the Army uniform…all Soldiers deserve to be recognized. Too often in times of peace, we neglect our military and then try to ‘catch up’ when we need it, and as a nation we pay a price for that philosophy.”
Norm and Meg Augustine
“At GA-ASI, we are proud that our MQ-IC Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft system is the Army’s most active kinetic platform in theater. We are pleased to partner with the Army Historical Foundation to educate the Museum’s Experiential Learning Center visitors on how this technology supports Soldier survivability and success.”
David R. AlexanderPresident, GA-ASI
“EY is proud to support the Museum in the community where we live and work. That is one of the ways our firm and our people demonstrate EY’s values. We encourage engagement in the community, including volunteerism and charitable contributions, by all of our people.”
Katherine HammackExecutive Director, Government and Public Sector, Ernst & Young LLP
"Everybody wants us to forget about Vietnam. We all just tried to put it behind us. As a Vietnam veteran, I am very proud to support the National Museum of the United States Army in telling the story of those who sacrificed so much in Vietnam.”
Bob StanfordCEO of Zenith Aviation, Vietnam Veteran
"The mission of the U.S. Army Women's Foundation is to promote public interest in the Army and recognize and honor the service of all U.S. Army women, past and present. Our Foundation wanted to support the National Museum of the United States Army to ensure the preservation of our collective Army history, of which women have long been a part. The U.S. Army Women's Foundation is delighted to support the National Museum of the United States Army and its state-of-the-art displays and historical collections of artifacts, equipment, and uniforms that tell the story of our nation's Army and its impact on past, present, and future generations."
Brigadier General Anne F. Macdonald (USA-Ret.)President, U.S. Army Women's Foundation
"In our discussion, it was my feeling that the Army had provided so many of us a profession that was immensely gratifying and rewarding; it gave us an opportunity to be successful both in and out of the military. The Army provided us an education in leadership and advanced skills having been placed in leadership positions and schooled in military and sometimes civilian schools. As a result of our Army service, many have enjoyed success in life after the service based on their leadership experience and learned skills. While we talk of paying things forward, this is the time to pay it back and to support the Army's museum that will tell the world our story. Given what the Army has given me, I felt an obligation to give back to the Army and to make a statement in doing so."
Colonel Robert J. Melchior (USA-Ret.)

The Army Historical Foundation

The Army Historical Foundation is the designated official fundraising organization for the National Museum of the United States Army.
We were established in 1983 as a member-based, charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We seek to educate future Americans to fully appreciate the sacrifices that generations of American Soldiers have made to safeguard the freedoms of this Nation. Our funding helps to acquire and conserve Army historical art and artifacts, support Army history educational programs, research, and publication of historical materials on the American Soldier, and provide support and counsel to private and governmental organizations committed to the same goals. This is a non-federal entity. It is not part of the department of defense or any of its components, and it has no government status.
