A few weeksago I began to prepare a text with the purpose of presenting in this blog thedefinitive and great work of my esteemed colleague François Vauvillier on theFrench armored cars "Automitrailleuses" of the Great War.
The textwas practically finished, but despite knowing part of his work through thecountless emails exchanged over several months, I decided to wait until I hadhis book in my hands. It came to me earlier this week, and now I can describeit with real objectivity.
The work inquestion, recently appeared and that some of you may already know is: "LeGrand Album des Automitrailleuses de la Victoire" published by the Frenchpublisher Histoire & Collections, and edited with the special personalimprint that has always characterized the books of François Vauvillier. .
This is a fundamental work, which is of great importance for describing and,definitively fixing, the historical progression, step by step, of Frenchmotorized vehicles on wheels, armored or not, from the origins to the end ofthe Great War.
Each one ofthe 10 successive and chronological chapters of the book, affects the essentialhistorical aspects of each period, accompanying the texts with exhaustivegraphic documentation and complementing, illustrations and texts, with endlessexplanatory notes of erudite reflections and bibliographical citations.
FrançoisVauvillier is without any doubt the greatest specialist in French combatvehicles of the Great War.
Thiscombined with his great art and mastery of the printed edition, make his book amagisterial, definitive and highly recommended work for all scholars and fansof the motorized history of the Great War, in which France had, also in thisfield, an outstanding role.

Hace unas semanas comencé a preparar un textocon la finalidad de presentar en este blog, la definitiva y gran obra de miestimado colega François Vauvillier sobre los coches blindados franceses "Autoametralladoras" dela Gran Guerra.
Tenía el texto prácticamente acabado, pero apesar de conocer parte de su obra por los innumerables correos intercambiadosdurante varios meses, decidí esperar hasta tener en mis manos su libro. Mellegó a principios de esta semana, y ahora puedo describirlo con verdaderaobjetividad.
La obra en cuestión, recién aparecida y quealgunos quizás ya conocéis es: "Le Grand Album des Automitrailleuses de laVictoire" publicado por la editorial francesa Histoire & Collections,y editado con la especial impronta personal que siempre a caracterizado loslibros de François Vauvillier.
Se trata de una obra fundamental, que revisteunagranimportancia por describir y, fijar definitivamente, la progresión histórica, paso a paso, de losvehículos franceses motorizados sobre ruedas, blindados o no, desde losorígenes hasta el final de la Gran Guerra.
