The collection contains extracts from Carl J. Sacariasen diary "Reiseminder in Alaska [Recollection of Alaska], compiled by Virginia Hastings, with an introduction by Keith A. Murray. The diary tells of his impressions of the country, the way in which the relief expedition of Dawson went sour, his transfer to the Bering Sea reindeer station and his adventures in the gold fields of Nome.
