Description: Robert A. Lurie, a co-owner of the San Francisco Giants baseball team, speaks at the Commonwealth Club about the process of keeping major league baseball in San Francisco. The team was very nearly sold to a Canadian brewery and moved to Toronto, Canada. Lurie mentions that Mayor George Moscone played a significant role in the negotiation process. Also, he talks about Bob Short and Bud Herseth and discusses Candlestick Park. Lurie was a general partner in the San Francisco Giants from 1976 to 1993.
