I loved the review of the history of the lions bears merger. Thanks for putting that together and capturing bulldog Murray’s memories.I’ve been a rusted on, 3rd generation Lions follower through thick and thin.I am really enjoying the way the board, football department, players and the club as a whole is working together with the learning culture and clear goals. The outcomes show in the players and coaches attitudes to each other and in how they treat one another. Fages said it from the start, “just concentrate on little improvements and the results will come.”The statistics showed us that this year. My field of expertise is in personal and professional development based on values. The values held by the leadership of the Brisbane Lions, although not necessarily articulated or espoused, are clearly shown and taken on by the playing group and filter down through to the staff and club as a whole. I encourage all the leadership to be clear on your values and live by them through the good times ahead, as in the excitement and euphoria of being a leader in a powerful winning AFL club, the real important things in life can be overlooked or forgotten. When I was a kid in Melbourne I used to play for Springvale in the morning and go and see the Lions every afternoon Our dads used to drink 2 cans so we could stand up a little higher watching Kevin Bulldog Murray Ralph Rogerson who could kick 65 metresAnd then the move to Carrara and Brizzy and the most successful team of the last 30 years with Vossy Aker Browny and the rest And now we have a new era with a great bond between Coach and fabulous young team of champs Have loved the last few years and really look to see the boys on the paddock this year Go LionsPaul Haselgrove

I’ve been looking for info re women’s matches and it’s hard to come by. Case in point last week’s semi. Game day info - on the Wednesday?- was about the last home and away match in Melbourne! And the banner at the top of every news page relates to the men - gf score and now the countdown to Opening Round. Podcasts are so out of date it’s not funny. Will not stop supporting the Lions but the app is woeful.

Brisbane Lions Previously Brisbane Bears!

I have been a member of the Brisbane Bears for the last 20 years and supported the Brisbane Lions for many years prior!Discovered that my father who was always a Fitzroy supporter and carted me along on his shoulders for all my young life. I moved to the Gold Coast after his passing. Have been so glad that this has happened but sure My Father has a lot to do with it after his passing!I also played football with the girls as a Fitzroy supported so un fortunately this ended up in and all in Melee with the girls partners not able to handle the rough play with their Girls ended up in an all in Mellee with the umpire last seen heading for the bush! Great memories but would have prefered a better result as we were in front! Great memories.Bev Mckenzie
