The first scenewas of theSavior andHis Apostles in the upper chamberon theeve ofHis betrayal. Following the Passover supper, He instructed and prepared the sacrament of theLord’s Supper forHisdearestfriendsas a remembrance ofHis coming sacrifice.Itwas soimpressively portrayed to me—theoverwhelminglove of theSavior for each. I witnessedHis thoughtfulconcern for significant details—thewashing of the dusty feet of each Apostle,His breaking and blessing of the loaf of dark bread and blessing of thewine, thenHis dreadful disclosure thatone would betrayHim.
He explainedJudas’s departure and told the others of theevents soon totake place.
Then followed theSavior’s solemn discourse when He said to theEleven: “These things I have spoken untoyou, that in me ye might havepeace. Inthe world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I haveovercomethe world.” (John 16:33.)
OurSaviorprayed toHis Fatherand acknowledgedthe Fatherasthe source ofHisauthority andpower—even tothe extending ofeternallife toallwho are worthy.
Heprayed, “And thisislifeeternal, that they might know thee theonlytrueGod, and Jesus Christ,whom thouhast sent.”
Jesus then reverently added:
“I have glorified theeon theearth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

When they had sung a hymn, Jesus and theEleven wentout to the Mount of Olives. There, in thegarden, in somemannerbeyond our comprehension, theSavior took uponHimself the burden of thesins ofmankind from Adam to the end ofthe world.His agony in thegarden,Luke tells us,was so intense “his sweatwasas … greatdrops ofbloodfalling … to the ground.” (Luke 22:44.) The glorifiedLord revealed toJoseph Smith this admonition toallmankind:

“For … I,God, … suffered … forall, that they might not suffer if they would repent; …
“Which suffering caused myself,evenGod,the greatest ofall, to tremble because ofpain, and to bleedatevery pore, …

Jesus Christ died in the literalsense in which wewillall die.Hisbody lay in the tomb. The immortalspirit of Jesus, chosenas theSavior ofmankind, went to those myriads ofspiritswho had departed mortallife with varying degrees of righteousness toGod’slaws. He taught them the “glorious tidings of redemption from the bondage ofdeath, and of possible salvation, … [whichwas] part of [our]Savior’s foreappointed and unique service to thehuman family.” (James E. Talmage, Jesus the Christ,Salt Lake City: DeseretBook Co., 1977, p. 671.)
I cannotbegin to convey toyou thedeep impact that these scenes have confirmed upon mysoul. Isense theireternal meaning andrealize that “nothing in the entire plan of salvation compares inany way in importancewith thatmost transcendent ofallevents, theatoning sacrifice of ourLord.Itisthe most importantsingle thing thathasever occurred in the entirehistory of created things;itis therock foundation upon which the gospeland all other thingsrest,”ashas been declared. (Bruce R. McConkie, MormonDoctrine,Salt Lake City:Bookcraft, 1966, p. 60.)
Father Lehi taughthis son Jacob and ustoday:
“Wherefore, redemption cometh in and through the Holy Messiah; for heis full ofgrace andtruth.

OurSaviorHimself instructed theNephites, “Whoso eateth and drinketh my flesh andblood unworthily [brings] damnation tohissoul.” (3Ne. 18:29.)
Worthy partakers of the sacrament are inharmonywith theLord and put themselves under covenant withHim toalways rememberHis sacrifice for thesins ofthe world, totake upon them thename of Christ and toalways rememberHim, and to keepHiscommandments. TheSavior covenants that wewho do so shall haveHisspirit to be with us and that, iffaithful to the end, wemay inheriteternallife.
OurLord revealed toJoseph Smith that “thereis nogift greater than thegift of salvation,” which plan includes the ordinance of the sacramentas a continuous reminder of theSavior’satoning sacrifice. He gave instructions that “itis expedient that the church meettogether often to partake of bread andwine in the remembrance of theLord Jesus.” (D&C 6:13; D&C20:75.)

この効果を、原子というミクロな世界の特殊性として片付けることはできるかもしれないが、その世界が、テーブルや椅子、猫といったマクロな日常世界に直接影響を及ぼすとしたらどうだろうか。シュレーディンガーの思考実験は、それを明らかにすることで、量子力学のコペンハーゲン解釈の不条理を明らかにしようとした。 粒子が重ね合わされた状態にあることは、一つの事実だ。しかし猫はどうだろう。猫はどちらか一方にしか属さないし、死んだり生きていたりもしない。
ガイガーカウンターの中に、ほんの少しの放射性物質が入っていて、1時間のうちに原子の1つが崩壊するかもしれないが、同じ確率で1つも崩壊しないかもしれない。このシステム全体を1時間放置しておくと、その間、原子が崩壊していなければ、猫はまだ生きていると言うだろう。システム全体のΨ関数(波動関数)は、その中に生きている猫と死んだ猫(表現は悪いが)が等しく混ざり合っていることで、このことを表現している。
この思考実験の意味合いについては、多くの現代的な解釈や読み方がある。あるものは、量子力学によって混乱した世界に秩序を取り戻そうとするものである。また、複数の宇宙で複数の猫が生まれると考えるものもあり、「重ね合わせられた猫」がむしろ平凡に見えてくるかもしれない。
通常の話では、波動関数は箱入りのネコを記述する。QBismでは、箱を開けたら何が起こるかについてのエージェントの信念を記述する。
例えば、Aさんがギャンブラーだとしよう。ネコの生死を賭けたいが、量子波動関数が最も正確な確率を与えてくれることを知っている。しかし、世の中には波動関数のラベルがない。自分で書き留めなければならない。自由に使えるのは、Aさん自身の過去の行動とその結果だけである。なので結果として得られる波動関数は、独立した現実を反映したものではない。世界がAさんにどう反応したかという個人的な歴史なのだ。
今、Aさんは箱を開けた。死んだ猫、あるいは生きている猫を体験する。いずれにせよ、Aさんは自分の信念を更新し、将来の出会いに期待するようになる。他の人が不思議な「波動関数の崩壊」と呼ぶものは、QBistにとっては、エージェントが自分の 賭けに手を加えることなのだ。
重ね合わせを形成するのはエージェントの信念であり、その信念の構造から猫について何かわかる。なぜなら、波動関数は、エージェントが箱に対して取り得るすべての行動（相互に排他的な行動も含む）に関する信念をコード化しており、Aさんの信念が互いに矛盾しない唯一の方法は、測定されていない猫に固有の状態が全く存在しない場合だからである。
QBistの話の教訓は，ジョン・ホイーラーの言葉を借りれば参加型宇宙であるということである。
2. ボーミアンについて
量子力学のコペンハーゲン解釈によれば、電子のような量子粒子は、人が見るまで、つまり適切な「測定」を行うまで、その位置を持たない。シュレーディンガーは、もしコペンハーゲン解釈が正しいとするならば、電子に当てはまることは、より大きな物体、特に猫にも当てはまることを示した：猫を見るまでは、猫は死んでいないし生きていない、という状況を作り出すことができる。
ここで、いくつかの疑問が生じる。なぜ、「見る」ことがそんなに重要なのか？
量子力学には、ボーム力学というシンプルでわかりやすい版があり、そこでは、量子粒子は常に位置を持っている。 猫や猫の状態についても同様だ。
なぜ物理学者たちは、シュレーディンガーの猫のような奇妙でありえないものにこだわったのだろうか？それは、物理学者たちが、波動関数による系の量子的な記述が、その系の完全な記述に違いないと思い込んでいたからである。このようなことは、最初からあり得ないことだと思われていた。粒子系の完全な記述には、粒子の位置も含まれるに違いないと考えたのである。 もし、そのように主張するならば、ボーミアン・メカニクスにすぐに到達する。
シュレーディンガーの猫の本当の意味は、実在論とは何の関係もないと思う人もいる。それは、知識の可能性と関係があるのだ。問題は、量子世界が非現実的であることではなく、量子系を知識の対象として安定化できないことである。
通常の知識の論理では、私たちの質問とは無関係に、知るべき対象がそこに存在することが前提になる。しかし、量子の場合、この前提が成り立たない。量子力学的なシステムに対して、測定という形で問いを投げかけると、得られる答えに干渉してしまう。
これらの本質的な特徴は「反実仮想」であり、何があるかないか（現実）ではなく、何が可能か不可能かについてである。実際、量子論の全体は反実仮想の上に成り立っている。反実仮想の性質は、量子論の運動法則よりも一般的であり、より深い構造を明らかにするものだからだ。
量子論の後継者は、運動法則は根本的に異なるかもしれないが、反実仮想の性質を示すことで、重ね合わせやエンタングルメント、さらには新しい現象が可能になるだろう。
シュレーディンガーは、仮想的な猫の実験で何を言いたかったのだろうか？現在では、シュレーディンガーは、量子論は、猫が死んでも生きてもいない浮遊状態にある物理的可能性を示唆していると主張したと一般に言われている。しかし、それは正反対である。シュレーディンガーは、そのようなことは明らかに不合理であり、そのような結果をもたらす量子論を理解しようとする試みは拒否されるべきであると考えたのである。
シュレーディンガーは、量子力学の波動関数は、個々のシステムの完全な物理的記述を提供することはできないと主張したアインシュタイン-ポドロスキー-ローゼンの論文に反発していたのである。EPRは、遠く離れた実験結果の相関関係や「spooky-a-distance（不気味な作用）」に着目して、その結論を導き出したのである。
シュレーディンガーは、2つの前提条件と距離効果とは無関係に、同じような結論に到達している。彼は、もし1）波動関数が完全な物理的記述を提供し、2）それが「測定」が行われるまで常に彼自身（シュレーディンガー）の方程式によって進化するなら、猫はそのような状態に陥る可能性があるが、それは明らかに不合理であることを示したのだ。したがって、ジョン・ベルの言葉を借りれば、「シュレーディンガー方程式によって与えられる波動関数がすべてではないか、あるいは、それが正しくないかのどちらか」なのである。
もし、その波動関数がすべてでないなら、いわゆる「隠れた変数」を仮定しなければならない（隠れていない方が良いのだが）。もし、それが正しくないのであれば、波動関数の「客観的崩壊」が存在することになる。以上が、Schrödingerが認識していた量子力学的形式を理解するための2つのアプローチである。いわゆる「多世界」解釈は、1も2も否定せずにやり過ごそうとして、結局はシュレーディンガーが馬鹿にしていた結論に直面することになる。
シュレーディンガーの例は、量子システムの不確定性をミクロの領域に閉じ込めることができないことを示した。ミクロな系の不確定性とマクロな系の不確定性を猫のように絡ませることが考えられるので、量子力学はミクロな系と同様にマクロな系にも不確定性を含意している。
問題は、この不確定性を形而上学的（世界における）に解釈するか、それとも単に認識論的（我々が知っていることにおける）に解釈するかということである。シュレーディンガーは、「手ぶれやピンボケの写真と、雲や霧のスナップショットとは違う」と指摘し、量子不確定性の解釈はどちらも問題であるとした。量子もつれは、このように二律背反の関係にある。
ベルが彼の定理を実験的に検証する前、量子力学の技術が発展し、もつれ状態の実在性を利用し、巨視的なもつれシステムを作り出す技術が開発される前、形而上学的な雲のオプションはテーブルから外されるのが妥当であった。しかし、もしもつれが実在するならば、それに対する形而上学的な解釈が必要である。
波動関数実在論とは、量子系を波動関数、つまり、死んだ猫に対応する領域と生きた猫に対応する領域で振幅を持つように進化しうる場と見なす解釈のアプローチである。シュレーディンガーが知っていたように、このアプローチを真面目に実行すると、これらの場が広がる背景空間は、量子波動関数の自由度を収容できる超高次元空間となる。
6. 超決定論について
不変集合論（IST）は、エネルギーの離散的性質に関するプランクの洞察を、今度は量子力学の状態空間に再適用することによって導き出された量子物理学のモデルである。ISTでは、量子力学の連続体ヒルベルト空間が、ある種の離散的な格子に置き換えられる。この格子には、実験者が量子系に対して測定を行ったかもしれないが、実際には行わなかったという反実仮想の世界が存在し、このような反実仮想の世界は格子の構造と矛盾している。このように、ISTは形式的には「超決定論」であり、実験者が行う測定は、測定する粒子から独立しているわけではない。
ISTでは、ISTの格子上にある状態は、世界のアンサンブルに対応し、各世界は状態空間の特別な部分集合上で進化する決定論的系である。非線形力学系理論に基づき、この部分集合は「不変集合」と呼ばれる。格子の隙間にある反実仮想世界は、不変集合上には存在しない。
アインシュタインは、量子波動関数は、不気味な距離作用や不確定性を持たない世界のアンサンブルを記述していると考えていたが、これは実現可能である。特に、シュレーディンガーの猫は、死んでいるか生きているかのどちらかであり、両方ではないのだ。
シュレーディンガーの猫の寓話に混乱をもたらしたのは、物理システムが非関係的な性質を持つという形而上学的仮定である。 もし全ての性質が関係的であるならば、見かけ上のパラドックスは解消されるかもしれない。
猫に関しては、毒が出るか出ないか、猫自身が生きているか死んでいるかである。しかし、この現象は箱の外にある物理系には関係ない。
箱の外の物理系に対しては、猫が起きていても眠っていても、猫との相互作用がなければその性質は実現されず、箱と外部系との将来の相互作用には、原理的に、猫がその系に対して確実に起きていたり確実に眠っていたりした場合には不可能だった干渉作用が含まれる可能性があるからだ。
つまり「波動関数の崩壊」は、猫が毒と相互作用することによって、ある性質が実現されることを表し、「ユニタリー進化」は、外部システムに対する性質の実現確率の進化を表すのである。 これが、量子論の関係論的解釈における「見かけのパラドックス」の解決策とされる。
8. 多世界
物理学者たちは古典物理学では観測された現象を説明できないことに気づき、量子論の現象論的法則が発見された。しかし、量子力学が科学的理論として受け入れられるようになったのは、シュレーディンガーが方程式を考案してからである。
シュレーディンガーは、自分の方程式を放射性崩壊の検出などの量子測定の解析に適用すると、生きている猫と死んでいる猫の両方が存在するような、複数の結果が並列に存在することになることに気づいた。実はこの状況は、よく言われるように2匹の猫が並列に存在するのではなく、生きている1匹の猫と、異なる時期に死んだ多数の猫が並列に存在することに相当する。
このことは、シュレーディンガーにとって重大な問題であり、量子測定中に量子状態が崩壊することによって、量子系の進化を記述する方程式としての普遍的な有効性が失われることを、彼は不本意ながら受け入れた。崩壊は、そのランダム性と遠方での作用から、受け入れてはならないのだろうか。その代わりに、パラレルワールドの存在が示されれる。これこそが、非局所的な作用を回避し、自然界における決定論を守る一つの可能性である。

はてブでも盛り上がったこの話、補足が必要そうなので書きます。
国際オリンピック委員会に加盟している、または加盟を目指すような多くのメジャースポーツには国際統括団体があって、競技規則を管理・維持・改定しています。
ちょっと特殊なのはゴルフで、セント・アンドリュースゴルフ場を保有するロイヤルアンドエンシェントゴルフクラブという組織が国際ゴルフ連盟に変わってゴルフのルールの管理をしていますが、世界中のゴルフ競技団体から人と意見を集めてルールの改定作業をしている、という点では他のスポーツと変わりません。
ところが野球は本当に変わっていて、アメリカの野球規則委員会が定めるOfficialBaseball Rulesは、世界のその他の国の意見とかは聞くこともなく、アメリカの都合だけで改正されますし、他の国がこれを採用するかどうかも一切調整とかはしません。日本の野球界は、独自に野球のルールを定めることもできるのですが、基本的にはOfficialBaseball Rulesはよくできているので、これを翻訳して1年遅れで「公認野球規則」としてそのまま採用することにしています。つまり、公認野球規則がOfficialBaseball Rulesと基本的には同一であるのは、たまたまそうなっているだけであって、本来は全く異なるルールを作っても一向にかまわないわけです。

これが今回の件の前提にあります。なお、そうは言っても公認野球規則はOfficialBaseball Rulesと違うところも多くて、例えばアメリカにはない軟式野球の規則も公認野球規則には含まれます。また、2020年からOfficialBaseball Rulesはワンポイントリリーフ（投手を打者1人との対決で交代させる）を禁止しましたが、日本はこれを採用しませんでした。
さて、今回の件は、エスコンフィールドのホームベースとバックストップ（本塁とその後ろの壁との距離）が、公認野球規則では「60フィート（18.288メートル）以上を必要とする」と定められており、NPBの本拠地球場ではすべてこの数値が守られているところ、エスコンフィールドでは15メートルしかない、というものになります。
なぜこのようなことになったのかというと、エスコンフィールドの設計を行ったのがメジャーリーグの球場の設計を経験したアメリカの設計事務所で、アメリカでは60フィートよりも本塁とバックストップとの距離を短くすることが多いから、ということが言われています。そうだとすると、本工事の施主であるファイターズ球団の不注意責任を問われることは避け得ないでしょう。

The DIGESTの訳では助動詞「shall」の訳が抜け落ちてます。このshallをどう訳すかということですが、一般的な意味の義務、つまり「〜しなければならない」という意味で訳してみると、これなかなか難しくなります。つまり
という訳になります。こうなると「Itis recommended」をThe DIGESTのように「推奨される」とは訳せませんよね？「でなければならないと推奨される」って、それ日本語として通じませんよね。このrecomemendはむしろ「勧告する」とでも訳すべきではないでしょうか？そうであるなら、公認野球規則が「誤訳」ではないかというあらぬ疑いは晴れるわけです。
【20221109追記】ブコメご指摘ありがとうございます、仮定法現在、思い出しました！ならば「すべきと推奨する」で問題なさそうです。そうするとやはり、自分としてはこの節、最初から努力規定だったのか、途中で義務規定から努力規定に変わったのかを知りたいのですが、意外と「OfiicialBaseball Rules」の変更履歴って見つからないんですよね。
ですので、ファイターズとしては、やはり義務規定である公認野球規則を遵守しなければならない立場であったのは確かです。もっともこれは、2023年からの公認野球規則を改訂してしまえば大きな問題にはならないかもしれません。
ただ、OfficialBaseball Rulesが、純然たる義務規定としないで、努力規定のようにも解しうる「Itis recommended」を書いたことの意味は、一歩進んで考えてみる必要はありそうです。現在のメジャーリーグの球場を見て日本のファンが思うのは、「ずいぶんいびつな形をしているな」ということではないでしょうか？左右非対称なのは当たり前、外野フェンスは直線だったり曲線だったり、果ては外野に丘がある球場すらあります。
これは別にひねくれてそういうデザインをしているわけではなく、野球というゲームが誕生したころの歴史のリスペクトなんですね。最初から野球は野球場で行われたわけではなく。街の中の広場なんかで遊ばれていたわけです。当然そういう場所は左右非対称で区画もいびつだったわけです。野球の人気が大きくなって専用野球場が作られるようになっても、まだ十分な広さの土地までは確保できない頃は、例えば球場の右翼側は十分な広さになっても、左翼側は全然広さが足りない、なんてことは古い球場には普通にありました（例えばグリーンモンスターで有名なボストンのフェンウェイ・パークは、まさにそういう設計であり、それではあまりにも左翼側に本塁打が出すぎるので、あの高く巨大な壁が作られたわけです）。
野球が「ゲーム」から「スポーツ」に変化する過程で、それではあんまりだということで、左右対称の扇形の野球場が増えていきます。それはそれでスポーツに必要な公平な環境になったとはいえ、今度は「野球ってそういうものだったろうか」という伝統への回帰が20世紀末に起こって、それ以降の新設球場は19世紀から20世紀はじめの野球場の特徴を取り入れたものになっていきます。
実際、公認野球規則でもOfficialBaseball Rulesでも、内野については非常に厳密に定めている一方で、球場の形状を決定する外野の規定については驚くほどおおざっぱなのです。以下に公認野球規則を示します。
まず、本塁の位置を決め、その地点から二塁を設けたい方向に、鋼鉄製巻尺で、127フィート3と3/8インチ（38.795メートル）の距離を測って二塁の位置を定める。次に本塁と二塁を起点としてそれぞれ90フィート（27.431メートル）を測り、本塁から向かって右側の交点を一塁とし、本塁から向かって左側の交点を三塁とする。したがって、一塁から三塁までの距離は127フィート3と3/8インチとなる。（中略）90フィート平方の内野を作るには、まず各ベースライン（塁線）およびホームプレート（本塁）を同一水平面上に設け、続いて内野の中央付近に投手板をホームプレートより10インチ（25.4センチ）高い場所に設け、投手板の前方6インチ（15.2センチ）の地点から、本塁に向かって6フィート（182.9センチ）の地点まで、1フィート（30.5センチ）につき1インチ（2.5センチ）の傾斜をつけ、その傾斜は各競技場とも同一でなければならない。
本塁よりフェアグラウンドにあるフェンス、スタンドまたはプレイの妨げになる施設までの距離は250フィート（76.199メートル）以上を必要とするが、両翼は320フィート（97.534メートル）以上、中堅は400フィート（121.918メートル）以上あることが優先して望まれる。

多分、本塁とバックストップとの距離について多くのMLBの球場がOfiicialBaseball Rulesに記載の数値を満たさず、かつ満たさないことが即違反にならないような書きぶりであるのは、この精神の尊重のように思うのです。

これは完全な私見になりますが、私は義務規定であるべきだと思っています。
本塁とバックストップまでの距離が野球のプレーに与える最も大きな影響は「投手のワイルドピッチ、捕手のパスボールが発生した後の処理」にあると思っています。
最も極端な例として、本塁ダートサークルの直後にバックストップを置くと仮定しましょう。この場合、捕手が平均的な能力を備えているとすれば、ワイルドピッチとパスボールが守備側にもたらす悪影響は著しく減弱するでしょう。
ただ、それでいいのか、という問題はあります。ここで公認野球規則における「野球のアウト」の定義を見てみましょう。
5.09 アウト
(a) 打者アウト
(1) フェア飛球またはファウル飛球（ファウルチップを除く）が、野手に正規に捕らえられた場合。
（中略）
(2) 第3ストライクと宣告された投球を、捕手が正規に捕球した場合。
【原注】〝正規の捕球〟ということは、まだ地面に触れていないボールが、捕手のミットの中に入っているという意味である。

この(2)は「三振」を定義したものになります。これを見てわかるように、三振【による打者アウト（←トラバの指摘を受けて修正、ありがとうございます）】は「ストライクを3つ取ること」では達成できず、「3つ目のストライクを捕手がノーバウンドで捕球すること」で初めて成立します。そのくらい野球のルールは「捕手がノーバウンドで投球を捕球すること」を重視して、選手にそれを要求しているわけです。だから野球では「ノーアウトまたはワンアウトで走者が一塁にいる」場合を除き3ストライク後の振り逃げがルール上認められているわけですし、このシチュエーションでワンバウンドの投球で空振り三振を取ったときは、捕手は必ず打者にボールをタッチするか一塁に送球してアウトを取っているわけです。
これほど「捕手の正規の捕球」をルール上重視しているのに、本塁とバックストップの距離を短くして、ワイルドピッチとパスボールが守備側に与える影響を減らすというのは、私はルールの立法趣旨に反するのではないかと思います。ゆえに私は義務規定であることが望ましいと思っています。

単調なビートというか、反復を繰り返しながらメインのメロディだけをどんどん発展させるアプローチはそれこそジェームスブラウンだかの時代のファンクソウルからポップスに定着してる。
誰でも知ってるマイケルジャクソンの「スリラー」や「スムースクリミナル」もトラックだけ見れば1つのリフレインだけで出来てるし、それ自体は目新しいことでもない。日本でもオザケンの「ラブリー」等、局所的にそういうものがヒットすることはあった。
ただRandBやヒップホップといったブラックミュージックの色合いが強いこのスタイルが、アリアナグランデやジャスティンビーバーといった白人中流層に支持されるポップスターや、J-popのYOASOBIや瑛人のヒット曲に取り入れられたというのは時代の潮目なんだと思う。

ビートが一本調子というのはNiziUやモーニング娘。の新しい曲でも見られる特徴なのでより一層こういうものが主流になっていくのかもしれない。

宇野さんが崇拝に近い持ちあげ方してる宇多田ヒカルもかつてからループさせることへの意識が高かった。
First Love時こそ「稀代の歌姫」として売り出そうというレーベルの意向もあってか、ディアンジェロ風の粘っこいドラム等といった当時のトレンドを表面的になぞっただけで、アレンジ面では当時のJ-popとそこまで違いはなかった。しかし「Distance」以降はRandBからの影響が強い宇多田ヒカル本人の意向が反映されだしたのかどんどんアレンジがミニマリスティックになっていった。
注意深く聴けば20年前の「Addicted to you」や「Can you keep a secret?」のころからすでに16ビートをキープしながらコード進行は8小節ほどで完結してしまっていることがわかる。
（このころはジャム&ルイスの手腕によるところも大きいのだろうが）
さらに言えばセルフプロデュースに切り替わってからロンドンに拠点を移すまでの2005~2015年あたりの宇多田ヒカルはいかにも宅録、DTM然とした手作り感あふるる音を時折鳴らしていなかっただろうか。
マスタリング等のポスプロによってある程度計算ずくで仕上げられたものにしても、Keep tryin’のパッドシンセはあの曲にしては音が厚すぎてややアンバランスだし、Kiss &Cryのホーンはモジュレーションであることを隠そうともしていない。しかしながらそんなことは取るに足らないことだった。
あのころはまだDTMそのものが新しくて費用が掛かる手段だったこともあって、宇多田ヒカルの孤高なイメージをより強固なものにしたし、なにより彼女が自宅にこもって自分の感覚だけで作ったものが、ダイレクトに自分のコンポやミニプレイヤーに届いてきたようなあの距離感がファンにとっては痛快だったんじゃないか。
「Ultra Blue」や「Heart station」時特有の浮遊感のあるきついリバーブや密室感のあるピアノの音像は、宇多田ヒカルの心象世界を垣間見ているようだったし、私生活でのラフな顔を晒してくれている様でもあって一つの魅力になっていた。
DTMはこの20年でどんどんハードルが下がっていったし、ネット上での音楽のコミュニティも成熟してきてる。今のアーティストを取り巻く環境ってあの頃の宇多田ヒカル周りの雰囲気とちょっと似てる気がする。ライブはあんまりやってなくてひたすら曲を書いてブログを書いていたのが宇多田ヒカルだった。
米津玄師にしろ須田景凪やヨルシカにしろ、宇多田ヒカルが敷いたものの上に立ってるんじゃないかな。立ってるというか宇多田さんは彼らのようなことを前時代にやりとげてしまったのかもしれない。
宇多田ヒカルの「traveling」は「夜に駆ける」に似ている。４つ打ちでビートに統一感を出している点や、トニックから長七度上（一度下）への移動が含まれる4小節ほどのコードパターンをひたすら繰り返している点、代理和音や経過音でコードに飽きがこないよう細かく配慮していることやフィルインの多さ、歌メロの譜割の細かさ…と共通項は多い。あの頃は幼くて単にかっこいい曲だなと何も考えず聴いていただけだが、当時の宇多田ヒカルはやはり規格外の存在だったんだなと今にして思い知らされる。
