「おうち英語」という言葉は五年前よりも有名になっていると思う今、ネット上では娘より喋れる子しかいない気がするけど、おうち英語やっている友人含めて、リアルでは娘みたいに喋れる子は見たことない。
自分では「ゆるおうち英語」と呼んでいる私と娘のおうち英語をメモ代わりに増田に放流してみる。(教材名の大文字小文字など間違いあるかも)
この約五年間基本的に

で過ごしてきた。

0歳9ヶ月〜現在(5歳5ヶ月)
ゆるおうち英語レポ

妊娠中、ディズニー英語システム（以降DWE）に憧れを持ち、購入を検討。
価格を調べると約100万円で、これで英語が話せるようになるなら安いとも思った。
しかし、調べるうちに、
• DWE単体では完結しない
と知り、「これさえ買えばOK」という教材ではないと理解した。
その中で
『世界で活躍する子の〈英語力〉の育て方』を読み、(※おうち英語をする人ならみんな読んでいる著書と思われる)
という考えに共鳴し、それは今もなお私のおうち英語ポリシーになっている。
市販教材を使わない導き方もあるが、ワーママでありかつ教育業界に勤める私にとって、プロが時間をかけて作成した教材の価値は考えるまでもないと判断。
DWEの他に検討していたのが、2026年の今はサ終したBenesseのワールドワイドキッズ（WorldwideKids, 以降WK）。
フルセット約25万円で、こちらを軸に多読を進める想定をしていた。

WKのStage0をやるかどうか迷っていた時期に、
「それならDWEのPlay Along!(DWEの前哨戦教材。以下PA)を中古で使う方が良い」という意見をネット見て、DWEのPAを中古購入。
ここでDWE教材の完成度の高さを実感することになる。

1歳3か月〜2歳：WK導入、英語発話が始まる
1歳3か月ごろ、WKフルセット(DVD30本とおもちゃのセット)、結局中古で導入。
結果的に、英語力の土台として最も影響が大きかったのはWKだと感じている。
WKはさすが天下のBenesse、低年齢に安心して見せられることを大前提とした「すべて英語の」コンテンツがいろいろ30分詰まっているDVD という点が素晴らしい。1歳3ヶ月〜3歳半まで毎日見ても飽きることがなかった。
一週間でDVD一本、一日一回見るような形で少しずつ見進めて行った。
この五年間を通じて、私が何か一点だけ人に勧めるとしたらWK。
DWEは、大きく4ステージに分かれていてそのステージの中に小さなステップが散りばめられているイメージ。
のような感じ。
WKは6ステージと銘打っているものの、30本のDVDを楽しみながら順番にただ見るだけと言ってよい。それでほんとに喋ってる。
1歳7か月
初めての発話が英語だった（「UP!」）。

2歳〜3歳：DWE教材追加・Numberblocks・多読導入
中古の良いところは、買いたくなったタイミングで買えるところ。結局最終的にはほぼフルセット購入したのだけど、必要になった時期に必要と思えるものを基本的には買い足せている。やっぱ要らんかったもの達のまとめと費用も記事の最後に。
DWEのSing Along! (歌のDVD、以下SA)を購入するも、DWEのDVDは実質紙芝居であるため食いつきは微妙。歌のみ収録のCDは基本的に今も毎日リビングで極小音で流れている。5歳になり、DWEのお話までなんとなく行っているから歌の理解もある程度あるが、意味なくBGMとして流してもあまり意味がない気がする。最近になって聴き取りもわりとできていることがわかったくらい。
でいうところのお話Straight Play（以下SP）も購入。SAよりは興味を持ったがそこまでではない。正規会員であればイベントが多くあるのでモチベーションや楽しみもアップすると思うけど中古にはそれがないのが孤独なところ。
基本毎日WKは観ながら日々が過ぎていく。
素で英語を喋るときもあった1-2歳とくらべ、日本語ががぜん優位になってくる。ただ、「そんな表現も言えるのか」と驚く英語発話も続いた。

2歳：Numberblocks視聴開始
WKのステージ5.6辺りから、「すべて日本語だとしても難易度が本人にとって高いだろう」と本人の反応の鈍さを見て思ったことから、
YouTubeで Numberblocks（イギリスの算数アニメ）を視聴開始。BBC作成なので質が担保されていて安心。
個人的にはYouTubeはおうち英語に欠かせないけれど、選び方で全てが決まると言ってもよいと思う。自分で見極めるのは難しいので本人が興味持ったらすぐに調べる。
ただし、YouTubeは諸刃の剣でもあると思う。娘はこだわりなく、聞き分けの良い性格であるために、許可したチャンネルしか見ない。また。YouTubeの動画は英語の好きなものを見るというのが通常であるから「何を見ても安心であり英語である」状態を作れているが、親の選んだDVDを見せるような形が一番理想ではある。この頃から本人の見ているコンテンツの内容を完全に把握することが難しくなった。

両方導入。すべて音声ペン対応。これは価格的にも重かった。が、「家の中に読みきれないほどたくさんの絵本がある」という環境をプレゼントできただけでも自分が嬉しかった。
ORTはイギリスの国語の教科書としても採用されている数ページの薄い絵本。自力読みを目指すための本…とおもっている(でもお話ふつうに面白い)
リャオは、台湾の英語教育ママが選んだ英語絵本130選。まず人が選んでくれた絵本というコンセプトが良い、たくさんの絵本に出逢えてありがたい。はらぺこあおむしみたいな誰でも知ってるお話もあるし、日本では訳されていない絵本もいくつもある。
5歳5ヶ月になってもまったく読み終わらないが、それでも良いと思っている。
字を読むことに関してはまったくノータッチだったのに、5歳前くらいから、頭文字から単語を推測するような様子がある。

3歳半：伸び止まり感
本人そのものの成長、日本語の伸びに英語がついてきていない感じがしていた。
オンライン英会話(ワールドアイキッズ)、トド英語もやってみたが、悪くもないが良くもない。
このことを当時「親が英語を話せないせいだ」と思っていたが別にそんなことはなかった。実際は本人自身の成長スピード、日本語の言語力が加速し、母語である日本語と第二言語の英語がくっきり区別されていっていた期間だったと思う。
今後どうなるか不安も抱えながらも、言語習得に必要と言われる2000時間のインプットを目指し、毎日淡々と英語に触れ続けた。
この間も本人まったくこだわり無く、自我がしっかりしてきてもプリンセスやプリキュア、可愛いもの💞などにハマることも一切なく、楽しく英語動画を視聴し続ける。

やはりWK、DWEのような「完全ないい子、教材めいたゆっくりの会話」とは異なり、早くて理解が追いつくか？とも思っていたが、
実際に使われる口語も多いようで、私の知らない表現を多く使うようになってきた。
なかでもblippiの存在が大きすぎる。(アメリカの教育系YouTuber)
現在5歳、保育園の間はずっとインプット期間だと思っているけれど、それでもブリッピーがアウトプットを大きく前進させた気がする。親としては一生ブリッピー観ていて欲しかった笑
ナンバーブロックスがイギリスなのでアメリカってのも良いなと、、
JunyTonyは韓国のコンテンツでめちゃくちゃ画面切り替えも早くてココメロン状態ではと思ってあまり見せたいチャンネルではないのだけど、もう分別のつく5歳だし、アジア系だからか、「おなら、うんち、おしっこ」系の楽しい動画多くて、娘そういうのが大好きなのでまあ許容かと…
Peppa Pigは2-3歳では通らず5歳のいま観ているけど、ちょうど完全に理解できるレベルなんじゃないかなーと観ていて思う。
黙って視聴していた後に、日本語で
「パパピッグがケチャップないってエマージェンシーって電話しちゃったんだよ。全然エマージェンシーじゃないよねえ笑」
と話してくれたりする。
動画以外のインプットだと、DWE内職をメルカリで外注したのがものすごく良かった。
DWEを本気でやる際には親の「内職」(カテゴリ分けやラミネート、ファイル作りなど)は必須と言っても過言ではないが、その内職をネットで外注してDWE絵本を音声化した。(内職代行は賛否ある)
DWE絵本とは
の「お話」の部分であり、straight playのDVDと同内容である。
絵本が音声で読めるようになったことで、今までBGMだった 家に流れ続けているSAの意味もわかるようになってきた。絵本が音声で読めるようになったことで、straight playのDVDは無くても良かった、ということに結果的にはなった。
主なインプットはYouTubeだが、アウトプットは外注系はなにもしていない。
(AEONのサマースクール(通常授業に夏の3回だけ混ぜてもらえる)に3歳で行ったときとても良かったのに無くなった。
ECCのサマースクールは4歳に行ったが名前間違い、メール連絡希望なのに電話してくる、子どものポシェットに男性職員がかわいいねと勝手に触れる、外国人講師がピザのぬりえでピーマンをピンク色に塗ろうとしたら「えっ笑」みたいに言ってきたという役満でもう行くことはない)
オンライン英会話もやったことはあるが、まだあまりしっくり来ない。
ただ4歳の途中くらいからか、私とのおままごとやお風呂遊びは全て英語になった。本人の英語力を私が測れないので難しいが、おそらく私の理想としている母語者の2-3歳レベルではないのかと思う。そう考えると、おままごとは完全に英語なのはそんなもんかなと。
あと4歳でDWEのLET'S PLAY(4つのステージクリアには不要だが補完的役割のセット)を買ったのがものすごく良かった。インプット期間を経た後で何か一つDWE買うならレッツプレイが良いと思う。工作、遊び、料理など。楽しくて自然に発話が英語になる。

まとめ
毎日1-2時間程度インプットがあり、アウトプットが合計10分くらいはある現在、インプット時間は2000時間を超えられたと思っている。
確かなインプットを積み上げたころから、ぽろぽろ英語の発話が出てきたと思う。
ネットで見かけるおうち英語キッズ達はもっと喋れるから(スーパーキッズじゃなくても)周りにはこれだけ喋れる娘ちゃんはすごい、耳がいいんだね、才能があるんだねと言われることがよくあるけど、私はそうではないと思っている。
しかし本人がまったくこだわり無い性格であるということは、ここまできたことに大きく起因しているとは思う。
先月生まれた二人目が、娘と同じように喋れるようになったら、再現性があると言えると思っている。
そもそも私がなぜおうち英語をやっているかというと、最も大きな理由は
かっこいいから
であり、いつまでにどのくらいのレベル、というのはあれど、英語ペラペラネイティブを目指しているわけではない。
あとは中1から自走で机の上系のことは補完してもらうとしても、英語の勉強に時間を割かなくても済むようになれば受験でかなりラクできるだろうなあということ。
あとは教育を生業とする自分として、おうち英語はこの私が導き育てた子どもが英語を喋れるようになるのかというドデカ興奮プロジェクトであるということもかなり大きい。(これも子が育てやす過ぎて悩みがひとつもないからこんなこと考える時間があるからできるとは言える)
おうち英語の鉄則は、
・指針を決めること
・心の師匠を決めること(→だと思っていたが、いまはチャットgptでも良い可能性もある)
・毎日やること
だと思う。年齢に応じて日本語が喋れるように成長している子どもなら、毎日やれば英語が喋れるようになると私は子をみて思っている。

自分は世紀末〜平成を生きた女オタクであり、いわゆる「男女カプ」や「世界観」「物語構成の美しさやテーマの描写」に重きを置く、考察厨、世界観厨と呼ばれてきた人種だ。
世紀末のアニメや漫画はキッズ向けであろうと平気で世界が滅んで主人公も死んだ。
続編のために主人公が生き返り、感動を台無しにされたこともあった。
このため「設定やキャラクター感情の辻褄が合っているかどうか」はかなり上位に食い込む判断基準であり、「好きなキャラクターではあるが生き返った（台無しにされた）からこのコンテンツはクソ」が共存し、作者への愛憎を募らせることも珍しくない。
ライブ感優位の物語が摂取できるようになったのは、かなり年齢を重ねてからだ。
時代と共に定義が揺らいだり移り変わることもあるが、ここでは平成初期〜中期の認識を元に「男同士を（公式／非公式問わず）カップリングさせ、恋愛やエッチなことをさせたいと思う女性」とする。
確か「腐女子」という言葉が生まれたのは2000年以降であり、それまでこの属性の人々の呼称が安定しなかった記憶がある。
自分はテニプリの個人ファンサイトで初めてこの呼称を知ったので、インターネットの普及もあってこの頃が「腐女子」という言葉の黎明期だったのではないか？と見ている。
ボーイズラブ（BL）、というジャンル名が普及したのは更にその後だ。
公式コミックだと思って購入したマンガが18禁シーン入りアンソロジーだったからですけど？
人間関係を拗らせていた筆者は「男の肉体（性欲）は汚い」という認識があった上に、「公式で恋愛関係、結婚関係のあるパートナー女性がいるのになんで浮気みたいなことを平気でやってんだコイツらは？」という設定至上主義が組み合わさり【腐女子氏ね】に速攻で傾いた。
とはいえ、当時数少ない仲の良かったクラスメイトがまさにデビューしたての同人作家腐女子だったため色々もどかしかった。
３.腐女子って変化してんの？
平成の30年間だけでも初期〜中期〜後期とかなりの移り変わりがあった。
また、生まれる前にその手の話題で盛り上がっていたキャプ翼、聖闘士星矢などが晴海の同人即売会でやり取りされてた時代を知っている「腐女子という言葉が生まれる前から活動していた女オタク」とも知り合いだったため、昨今の若い腐女子よりは『腐女子と呼ばれる人々の生態と歴史』は知ってる方だと思う。
で、その視点からすると昨今の「腐女子」という言葉は「オタク」同様、命名初期よりも一般化に浸透し、良くも悪くも多様性が生まれたと思う。
腐女子を名乗っている人を見ると身構えてしまうし、炎上している腐女子を見ると胸のすく思いがする。
だが、現在の親しくしている友人にも腐女子はいるし、彼女たちの研ぎ澄まされた語彙力からしか生まれないパワーワードは「腐女子がイヤ」という嫌悪感を軽く吹き飛ばしてしまう。
そして昨今、「腐男子」という言葉が生まれてかなり見方が変わった。
男性ながら家事や服飾を好む「オトメン」や、女性的な身なりを誇る「オネェ（オカマ、ニューハーフ）」といった存在を経て、こんなにもカジュアルに「同性愛的な楽しみ方が好き」と言える男性が世に出てこられたのは「オタク＝犯罪者予備軍」と言われていた時代から考えたらとんでもなく素晴らしいことなのだ。
自分の好きではない属性だが、男優位と言われてきた社会から飛び出した女性の表現力が、巡り巡ってマイノリティ男性を救う連鎖を生み出している。
教室の隅っこで落書きをする事でしか満たされなかった小学生女児の魂が、なんとなく救われた気がした。
彼らのような人たちが心地よく受け入れられる社会になっているのなら、自分のようなオタクにだって居場所はあるのだと。
前述の通り「腐女子」は、その言葉の持つ意味や人々の属性がすっっっっっごく混沌としていて、この言葉自体が割と取り扱って注意となっている。
どうしても個人的な腐女子論を語る上で外せない概念なので、脇道にそれるが言及しておきたい。

というか、「腐女子」という言葉が生まれてから、そこをもじったように生み出された概念が「夢女子」だ。
少なくともこれらの言葉の発生には３〜５年のタイムラグがある。（それは絶対に違う、と仰られる有識者がいたら当時通っていた個人サイトのジャンル変容を添えて教えて欲しい）

だが平成終盤以降のインターネットではたまーに「腐女子って呼び方をやめよう！！」みたいな声かけが発生するが、それがうまく行った様子はない。

それまで「女オタクなんて存在するわけないだろ（vs即売会見ろや）」というムードだった平成初期〜中期に「女オタクは！！！！！いまーす！！！！！！！」と認知させたのが『腐女子』という言葉の力であり、女オタク達がこぞって名乗り始めた理由なのだ。
引きこもりという言葉が生まれて、苦しむ若者を受け入れる社会になったように。
『腐女子』という言葉の発明は、存在を透明化されてきた歴戦の女オタク達にとってむちゃくちゃ存在感のあるパワーワードだったのだ。
腐女子を名乗れば、強くなれる！
自分は腐女子が苦手だったが、腐女子を名乗りたがる女オタク達の気持ちは痛いほど理解できた。
平成初期、まだ昭和の価値観は色濃く「女は男に従うものであり、勝つ事などありえない。オタクでも男の方が偉いのであり、女はその格下。というか、そもそもいるわけがないっしょw」というのが漠然と蔓延っていたのがオタク世界のインターネット黎明期であり、２ちゃんねるの「俺」文化の背景であり、オタクのオフ会に参加する時の覚悟であったのだ。

人数的には30人に1人いるか居ないか程度だったんじゃなかろうか？
そんな時代にオフ会をすれば男5:女1みたいなのはザラにあったし、女オタク同士で集まる流れになると1:1になるジャンルとかもあって両極端だった。
（参加した事ないけど一緒にtalk！時代のガンパレ辺りの女性ユーザー認知の火力は凄かったと記憶している）
ついでに、当時のオタクは男女問わず大変拗らせていたので「オタクという属性にしかアイデンティティがない陰キャ男子」のマウントが取れる相手というのが「自分達男オタクよりも少なくて力も弱い女オタク」だったというのは背景分析として間違っていないと思う。
上澄はとことん品位があったものの、底辺はマジで救いようがなかった。
中間層という存在がすっぽ抜けていたのを、更に加速させたのが2ちゃんねる黄金時代のインターネッツだ。
こういう世界で「女」という属性を見せるのは女性器を晒したかのごとく好機の的にされた。
下ネタで絡まれ、マウントを取られ、嘲笑を浴びるのが「女オタク」のポジションであり、彼女たちが個人サイトに引きこもっても男たちはそれを匿名掲示板に貼り付けて、笑いものにしながら荒らし行為を繰り返した。
ポイピクなどで見られる「パスワード」機能は、当時の女オタクたちが心無い男オタク達から身を守るために必要とした防衛機能の名残である。
誰かと繋がりたい。
でも、イタズラに傷付けてくるような人に近寄られたくない。
当時、「女オタク」というだけで様々なセクハラや人権無視の扱いをされてきた彼女達にとって『腐女子』という忌み名は魔除け効果を持つとても心強い言葉だったのだ。
ただイラストを描いただけなのに。
ただ感想を書いただけなのに。
女という要素が少しでも嗅ぎ取られれば、匿名掲示板で集まってきた男達が下ネタや嫌がらせのコメントを、ありとあらゆる手段で繰り返してくる。
ブロックしても無限湧きしてくる捨て垢で、毎日何十件と粘着され続けてきたらそりゃ心も荒む。
「そりゃ腐ってるんだから当然だろ？
わざわざ書いてやってるんだから腐ってる女に寄って来んなよw
あ、文字読めねぇのかwwww」
こうやって彼女たちは心と尊厳を守るために「"腐"女子」という一見不名誉なアイデンティティを鎧に選び、下ネタセクハラ男達を彼らの嫌う男陵辱ハードプレイ下ネタで遠退けたのだ。
というか、この『腐女子』という言葉のインパクトと浸透力は当時かなり目覚ましいものがあった。
それまで「えーと、ほら、男同士の関係が好きな女の人…」みたいな感じで、どう呼べば良いのか、そもそもその趣味嗜好についてどう触れたら良いのか、良識あるオタクですらかなーり扱いには迷っていた。
そこに「はいはい！私は腐女子です！男同士のエッチな絡みが大好きです！」と聞いてもいないのに名乗ってくるコミュ障が大多数突撃してきたので、やんわり〜厳しく注意する人間もいれば、同担拒否よろしく締め出したり、まぁ同じ土俵に上がって焼け野原になったり、それはそれでまぁまぁ問題にはなった。
同時期に、インターネットの敷居が下がり「女オタク＝腐女子」と勘違いした一般層がかなり生まれてしまったのも痛かった。
ちなみに筆者も、実の父親や仲の良い男子に「腐女子なんでしょ？」とナチュラルに勘違いされたので猛烈に反発してブチ切れたことがある。
女児向けコンテンツの男キャラってのは「王子様」でなきゃいけない。
多少は本命の女の子にいじわるしても、危機があれば命をかけて救いに行き、言葉にならない女の子の苦悩を解決し、最後にはキスをして救済してくれる…
これが平成初期女児向けコンテンツのスタンダードであり、多少女主人公が死んだりしてもそこら辺の「相手役」の王子様力は落とさなかった。
筆者はこういった女児向けコンテンツ出身で、男女の恋愛というのは子を残す（続編の予知）も含めて当然の帰結だろうと思っていた。
ディズニー黄金期のリトル・マーメイド、美女と野獣、アラジンの３コンボと派生作品を喰らってたので、「子を残す必要性」というのを続編への前振りとして考えていたし、ウテナはウテナで後になって振り返ってなるほどねと思っていたし、現在も男女カップリングからの子世代妄想や作者の性癖推測とかやるし、オリジナル子供キャラとかめっちゃ捏造して遊んでた。
そういう人間にとって「男同士の恋愛関係」は子世代の存在を否定するものであり、何なら男キャラに恋している女性キャラクターや女性読者との関係を否定するものであり、公式の男女関係への崇拝が強固であればあるほど「腐女子は原作の敵」に見えてしまうのである。
そこで反発して生まれたのが『夢女子』という言葉であったと、筆者は認識している。

それがケータイの普及によって更に手軽に実現可能となり、好きなジャンプキャラやゲームキャラとの疑似恋愛を楽しむ女オタクがじわじわとケータイサイトを中心に姿を現し始めた。
同人誌を作って即売会に参加するほどではないが、自分の恋心をイケメンに受け止めて欲しいと思うお姫様系女児から進化したオタクが、テニプリなどの社会現象と共に広まったのが『夢女子』の発端だったと記憶している。

そりゃ乙女ゲーに出てくる男子を他の男とくっつけたらコンセプト全否定なんだから当然である。
かくして一部の夢女子は、我が愛しのイケメンをメス堕ちさせた憎たらしい敵として腐女子を嫌っていた。
ちなみにこの手のお姫様精神の人が拗らせたまま歳を重ねると、ツイフェミと呼ばれるようになるっぽい。
これはもう、個々の相性やポリシーからケースバイケースとしか言いようがない。
しかも夢女子は腐女子ほど定義が強固ではなく「ドリーム小説を楽しんでいた女オタク」というふわっとしたものである。
夢小説を作った人間はたまに但し書きに「男の子の名前を入れないでください」とか書いてたくらいには何かあったんだろうなと思う。
ちなみに自分は、夢小説はまったく通っておらず子世代妄想や公式カプ小説といった「筆者の存在しない自前の二次創作」を楽しんでいた。
「推し」が居なくてもコンテンツを楽しめるタイプなので、昨今の「推し」ありきの流れにはちょっと乗り切れていないオタクである。
で、その視点から見ていて夢女子も腐女子も「推しキャラ」という存在にめっちゃ入れ込むタイプのオタクという点では似てるよなぁと感じている。
たまに「推しキャラを好きな自分の方が、公式より偉いと思ってるんだろうな」と感じる人もいる。
キモいと感じる心を否定する気は無いし、でも疑似恋愛や愛玩感情などは多くの人間に備わってるものなので、否定しても意味ないかなとは思う。
思うのは仕方ないし、内心の自由だし。
ただ個人的には、BLだろうと18禁要素や肌色多めのコンテンツが年齢制限なしに買えてしまう状態はどうかなと思っている。
正直、自分としては「ざまぁみろ」という感情がどうしても拭えない。
もし腐女子を自認し、かつ炎上を起こしたくないとか、何が問題なのかわからないけど理解したい、という気持ちでこの記事が目に留まった方がいるなら嬉しい。
こちらも可能な範囲で言葉を尽くすので、「腐女子の功罪」について共に今後も考えて欲しい。

0.著者は何者だ？
自分は世紀末〜平成を生きた女オタクであり、いわゆる「男女カプ」や「世界観」「物語構成の美しさやテーマの描写」に重きを置く、考察厨、世界観厨と呼ばれてきた人種だ。
世紀末のアニメや漫画はキッズ向けであろうと平気で世界が滅んで主人公も死んだ。
続編のために主人公が生き返り、感動を台無しにされたこともあった。
このため「設定やキャラクター感情の辻褄が合っているかどうか」はかなり上位に食い込む判断基準であり、「好きなキャラクターではあるが生き返った（台無しにされた）からこのコンテンツはクソ」が共存し、作者への愛憎を募らせることも珍しくない。
ライブ感優位の物語が摂取できるようになったのは、かなり年齢を重ねてからだ。
時代と共に定義が揺らいだり移り変わることもあるが、ここでは平成初期〜中期の認識を元に「男同士を（公式／非公式問わず）カップリングさせ、恋愛やエッチなことをさせたいと思う女性」とする。
確か「腐女子」という言葉が生まれたのは2000年以降であり、それまでこの属性の人々の呼称が安定しなかった記憶がある。
自分はテニプリの個人ファンサイトで初めてこの呼称を知ったので、インターネットの普及もあってこの頃が「腐女子」という言葉の黎明期だったのではないか？と見ている。
ボーイズラブ（BL）、というジャンル名が普及したのは更にその後だ。
公式コミックだと思って購入したマンガが18禁シーン入りアンソロジーだったからですけど？
人間関係を拗らせていた筆者は「男の肉体（性欲）は汚い」という認識があった上に、「公式で恋愛関係、結婚関係のあるパートナー女性がいるのになんで浮気みたいなことを平気でやってんだコイツらは？」という設定至上主義が組み合わさり【腐女子氏ね】に速攻で傾いた。
とはいえ、当時数少ない仲の良かったクラスメイトがまさにデビューしたての同人作家腐女子だったため色々もどかしかった。
３.腐女子って変化してんの？
平成の30年間だけでも初期〜中期〜後期とかなりの移り変わりがあった。
また、生まれる前にその手の話題で盛り上がっていたキャプ翼、聖闘士星矢などが晴海の同人即売会でやり取りされてた時代を知っている「腐女子という言葉が生まれる前から活動していた女オタク」とも知り合いだったため、昨今の若い腐女子よりは『腐女子と呼ばれる人々の生態と歴史』は知ってる方だと思う。
で、その視点からすると昨今の「腐女子」という言葉は「オタク」同様、命名初期よりも一般化に浸透し、良くも悪くも多様性が生まれたと思う。
腐女子を名乗っている人を見ると身構えてしまうし、炎上している腐女子を見ると胸のすく思いがする。
だが、現在の親しくしている友人にも腐女子はいるし、彼女たちの研ぎ澄まされた語彙力からしか生まれないパワーワードは「腐女子がイヤ」という嫌悪感を軽く吹き飛ばしてしまう。
そして昨今、「腐男子」という言葉が生まれてかなり見方が変わった。
男性ながら家事や服飾を好む「オトメン」や、女性的な身なりを誇る「オネェ（オカマ、ニューハーフ）」といった存在を経て、こんなにもカジュアルに「同性愛的な楽しみ方が好き」と言える男性が世に出てこられたのは「オタク＝犯罪者予備軍」と言われていた時代から考えたらとんでもなく素晴らしいことなのだ。
自分の好きではない属性だが、男優位と言われてきた社会から飛び出した女性の表現力が、巡り巡ってマイノリティ男性を救う連鎖を生み出している。
教室の隅っこで落書きをする事でしか満たされなかった小学生女児の魂が、なんとなく救われた気がした。
彼らのような人たちが心地よく受け入れられる社会になっているのなら、自分のようなオタクにだって居場所はあるのだと。
前述の通り「腐女子」は、その言葉の持つ意味や人々の属性がすっっっっっごく混沌としていて、この言葉自体が割と取り扱って注意となっている。
どうしても個人的な腐女子論を語る上で外せない概念なので、脇道にそれるが言及しておきたい。
