1.4ナノを目指すのは結構で、まぁそりゃ頑張ってトライアンドエラーやってりゃいつかは稼働し生産にこぎつけるだろうが
量産開始したころには他社はその先に行ってる。
それでは商売にならないんです。
１８ヶ月程度で次のプロセスルールが稼働し始める、稼ぎの本丸はそちらに移る。
半導体価格は月次（年次ではない）３％下がる。DRAMはもっとエグい。
１個一万円の半導体が翌月には９７００円になり、１年後には７０００円になってる。
３年後だと３５００円。そういう世界。
１個１万円をどれだけ長く維持できるかが勝負になる。この期間で一気に稼ぐ。
半導体産業の面白いのは、では世代交代したら古い設備は用無しか？
現代のデジタル機器には無数の半導体が組み込まれており全てが最先端である必要はない。
例えば、ルーターだったり、制御装置だったり。ASICだったり。
話が逸れるが、この仕組みに気がついたのがスティーブ・ジョブズ。
iPhoneが登場するまで携帯電話向けのSoCは２，３世代古い設備で製造されていた。
サーバーやパソコン向け最先端プロセスルールの半導体工場が稼ぎ終わった後の設備で組み込み用SoCが作られており、
携帯電話もそれらが使われていた。
ジョブズのアイデアは「最先端で作れば携帯の性能一気に上るじゃん」
もちろんOSやコンパイラ、ライブラリ群の整備も大きいのだけど、この半導体チートが「iPhone=高性能」の印象を作った。
だから歩留まりも収率も良い。ウェハー単価は高いけど採算は取れる、ジョブズはこれに気がついた。
Android勢がこれに追いつく（最先端プラントで泥用ARMが製造される）のに５年かかった。
ラピダスに話に戻るが、２ナノ。1.4ナノを作るのはそれほど難しくはない。試作品なら。
しかし大規模装置産業の半導体工場は試作と量産技術はまったく別物。
試作品ができたら量産はあと一歩、にはならない。別物。
例えば、一昔前話題になったフッ化水素、１２ナインとか、日本が強いよね。
半導体を作るには大量に使う。
試作品、ラボレベルでメーカーから届いた試験管の少量を扱うのと、
ローリーで輸送され（ここでも汚れる）、プラント内に備蓄され（ここでも汚れる）、配管が適切に設計され、制御され、製造装置に供給されるラインが構築され、その配管で送液され（ここでも汚れる）、半導体が洗浄され（ここでも汚れる）、使用済み廃液が確実に回収する仕組みが構築されており。。。
書けば簡単なようでめちゃくちゃ難しい。別次元の技術やノウハウがある。
そしてTSMCの強みはこれらの製造インフラを高レベルで高速に構築し改善できる、それらの人材も揃ってる、育ってる。
つまりプラント立ち上げが早く競合他社が追いつく前に１個１万円で売り切ってしまう。
競合他社が追いついたときには７０００円になってる。
TSMCは１万円で売り切って爆益を出し、それを原資に次のプラントを立ち上げる。
1.4ナノだろうが３年後には１個３５００円にしかならんのです。
TSMCは戦略的に旧世代の価格を下げてくるのでさらに出遅れ他社の利益率は下がる。
一日でも、一ヶ月でも早くプラント稼働させるのが利益の源泉なのだが、日本企業、しか国策官営企業にそんなもん不可能なのです。
んなもんラピダスの中の人だって百も承知だろう、でも頑張ってる、頑張ってるフリ、宣伝。
ちなみにJASM（TSMC）熊本ですら22nmしか作っていない。
台湾の経済安全保障のため最先端を避けたという説明だけど、ウソです。
作れないの。
天下のTSMCプラント立ち上げ部隊ですら、異国の地でサプライヤー全て巻き込んで最先端プロセスを稼働させる事はできない。
彼らは新工場の設計、プロジェクトマネジメント、立ち上げ、安定量産、これらの業務にそれぞれ精鋭の専属部隊がいる。
実際、JASM熊本も公式な量産開始から一年経ってもフル稼働はしていない。アメリカで大トラブルを起こしているのも御存知の通り。
量産って難しいんです。簡単じゃないんです。小さな外的要因一つで製造は止まる。
だが、あれを“次世代機”なんて呼ぶのは、あまりにもおこがましい。
あんなの、十年前の設計思想をツギハギした「老朽アーキテクチャのゾンビ」だよ。
エンジンの限界を誤魔化して“効率化”なんて言ってるのは、昭和の家電と同じ発想だ。
まるでワードやエクセルのマクロ地獄を延命し続けたWindowsの焼き直しだな。
結局、Switch2がやってることは“UIのスキンを変えただけ”。
中身はレガシーの塊。
Joy-ConをBluetoothで繋いで、またジョイコンドリフトを再発させる気か？
Cellは賛否両論あったが、“過去の互換”なんていう鎖を自ら断ち切った。
そしてフルスクラッチでマルチスレッド・ストリーミングの未来を提示した。
あれこそ「次世代機」だった。
Switch2？ あんなの“古い泥舟の塗り直し”に過ぎない。
任天堂は“過去資産を捨てない”ことを美徳だと思っているらしい。
AIが使用履歴を解析し、視線追跡と入力予測でゼロレイテンシを実現する――
それが本当の意味での“快適性”だ。
なのにSwitch2のUI？
「スペックじゃない、遊びだ」
――聞き飽きた言葉だ。
Switch2がやってるのは、“過去の懐古”と“子供向けマーケティング”の繰り返し。
21世紀のエンタメを自称するなら、まずOSを捨てろ。GUIを再設計しろ。
Switch2は“過去の遺物”を温め直しただけの奇形化デバイス。
十年後には、PS3が示した理念の方がずっと前衛的だったと気づくだろう。
この国のメーカーが「レガシー互換」という鎖を断ち切れない限り、
Switch2？
AIにとっては、Pythonのような中間表現を生成させる方が得意であると考えられます。
中間表現（Pythonなど）:人間が理解しやすいように設計されており、抽象度が高いです。AIは、より少ないトークンで複雑なロジックを表現でき、学習データも豊富にあるため、意味的な整合性やロジックの正確性を保ちやすいです。
機械語:抽象度が非常に低い（CPUの命令レベル）です。特定のCPUアーキテクチャに依存し、メモリ管理やレジスタ割り当てといった低レベルの詳細をすべて正しく処理する必要があります。これはAIにとって学習が複雑で、小さなミスがプログラム全体の破損につながりやすくなります。
中間表現:比較的長いコンテキストを保持しやすく、デバッグやエラーの特定も高レベルで行えます。
機械語:必要な命令数が多くなりがちで、AIが長大なバイナリシーケンスを生成する際に、コンテキストウィンドウ内に必要な情報すべてを保持しきることが難しくなる可能性があります。また、中間表現と比べて意味的な構造が薄いため、AIがバグのないコードを生成するのが格段に困難になります。
中間表現:Pythonのような高級言語は、特定のハードウェアに依存しないため、移植性が高いです。
機械語:特定のアーキテクチャ（例:x86,ARM）に完全に依存するため、AIが異なる環境向けにコードを生成する場合、それぞれのアーキテクチャごとに学習と生成を行う必要があり、汎用性が低くなります。
現在のAI（特に大規模言語モデル）の能力は、人間が扱う高レベルの抽象的な概念やロジックの理解に優れているため、その能力を最大限に活かせる中間表現の生成の方が得意です。
機械語の生成は、極めて精密で低レベルな制御が要求されるため、AIにとってはるかに難易度が高いタスクとなります。
AIが中間表現を生成した場合でも、その後の処理（コンパイルやJITコンパイル）によって最適化され、最終的な機械語が生成されます。
これは従来のコンパイラ設計と同じアプローチであり、AIは「何をすべきか」という高レベルの指示に集中し、コンパイラが「どのように効率的に実行するか」という低レベルの処理を担当する、役割分担の面でも合理的です。

After whatfeltlike an eternity of drivingat a crawl, Isawit. Alight. A single, brutallybright rectangle oflight cutting through the fog. The facelessman picked up the strawberrymilk. He putit inhis coatpocket. And then he just… faded. Hedidn’t walkout the door. He dissolved into the hummingair,likeheat haze. A second later, hewasgone.
Theclerk letout a long, shudderingbreath and swayedonhis feet. He leaned heavilyon the counter,his face sheet-white. He looked utterly, existentially exhausted. Hesaw me staring, my mouth hangingopen, the can of coffeestill in my hand.
For the firsttime, aflicker ofsomething real,somethinghuman, crossedhis face.Itwaspure, undiluted terror.

ああ、ついに出たな、「成長率マウント取れば全部勝ち」教の信者。
いいか、まず年率5%成長って言葉を嬉々として使う前に、その成長の中身を精査する頭を持て。数値の裏側を読めない奴が経済を語るのは、もはや事故だ。
まず、中国の「年率5%成長」ってのは名目GDPの話か？実質GDPか？さらに言えば、その統計を誰がどのように集計し、どのように発表しているかを理解しているか？
中国国家統計局の発表値は、過去に幾度も地方政府による水増し、虚偽報告、整合性のない数値が問題視されてきた。
IMFや世界銀行でさえ、中国の統計に対しては「独立検証不能」の注釈をつけてる。つまり数字が出てるから信じる、はもはや知的自殺行為。
対して日本の成長率が低いのは事実だ。だがそれは「成熟経済の低成長」だ。
言い換えれば、インフラ、法制度、金融市場、国民所得、教育水準などが飽和水準に達しているから、爆発的な成長余地がないということ。
つまり「すでに完成された構造を維持し、微調整していくフェーズ」に入っている。
それを「マイナス成長」と表現するなら、お前の中では50歳の賢者より、筋トレ始めたての中学生の方が成長率が高いから偉いという話になる。成長率とは成熟を否定するものではない。
で、「産業の独立性」とか言ってるが、それ、どの指標で見てる？サプライチェーンの自給率？国内需要比率？製造から研究開発までの垂直統合度？それとも単に自国でやってる感？
現実を見ろ。中国の半導体産業はEUV露光装置を一台も自国で実用化しておらず、設計はARM系、EDAはCadenceやSynopsysなど米国企業、製造装置は日本・米国・オランダ。
しかも、その自立性を進める過程で起きたのが、大基金の横領事件と形式だけの成果報告で補助金を食い潰す構造腐敗。
補助金で「国産品」を偽装するような官製経済のどこに健全な独立性があるのか、説明してみろよ。
対照的に日本は、素材、装置、精密機器、部品、加工技術において世界の最上流を押さえている。
これがどういう意味か分かるか？誰かが何かを作ろうとするとき、日本抜きでは成り立たないってことだ。
中国がスマホを自作しようが、そこに使われてるリチウムイオンバッテリーのセパレーターは旭化成製、タッチパネルのフィルムは日東電工製、半導体の製造装置は東京エレクトロン製だ。
つまり「誰かの成長」を技術と素材で日本が支えてる構造。これが真の産業の独立性だ。依存される側は、価格でも条件でも交渉力を持つ。
それにGDP成長率を語る前に、一人あたりGDPの比較をしろ。
中国は2023年時点で約1.3万ドル、日本は3.5万ドル超。つまり、中国人一人の経済生産力は日本人の3分の1以下だ。
いくら全体のGDPが大きくても、14億人の巨大母数で割った結果、国民の生活レベルは依然として途上国水準。
しかも、中位年収は都市部でさえ年間5～7万元（約100万円）台、農村はもっと下。
つまり、大多数の国民はまともな医療も教育も自由にアクセスできない。
成長はしているが、それが広く国民に分配されていない。それは「国力の上昇」とは呼ばない。国家規模のエリート偏重の搾取構造だ。
だからな、成長率だの産業独立性だの表面を撫でて喜んでるお前に必要なのは、まず「数字をどう読むか」という知性。そして「それが実際に誰を豊かにしてるのか」という倫理だ。
成長率の棒グラフだけ見て勝った気になってる奴は、経済を語る資格はない。
お前が見てるのはただの上澄みだ。社会の本質は、沈殿した泥の中にある。そこまで理解できたら、ようやく議論の土俵に立てる。
今はまだ、その前だ。黙って勉強してろ。
Linuxのスマートフォンを実際に使っている人間の感想として。
PinephoneというARMベースのSoCで動くスマートフォンにDebian（正確にはMobianというDebianフォーク）を入れてしばらく使っているが、これは現状では普及しないだろうなという気はする。理由を書いてみる。
Android/iOSではあたりまえにできる日本語のフリック入力がLinuxスマートフォンではいまだにできない。日本語入力自体はもちろん使えるので、ローマ字入力になる。画面が小さくてキーボードが小さいとつらい。既存のスクリーンキーボードをカスタマイズすればフリック入力っぽいものが作れそうだが、大変すぎるので自分でやる気にはならない。
いや、フリック入力できるぞ？という人は適切なパッケージを教えてください……
Linuxスマートフォン用にいくつかのUI（Linuxではデスクトップ環境と呼ばれるやつ）がある。代表的なものはPhoshだ。モバイル用のUIにプリインストールされているパッケージはモバイル端末用にある程度最適化されているのだが、自分でインストールしたパッケージは基本的にデスクトップでの使用を前提にしているので、そのまま使うのは厳しい。
自分が持っているPinephoneにはLibreOfficeもインストールして普通に動くが、画面のほとんどがツールバーで埋まってしまって、まともに使うのはほぼ無理だ。
現時点でもPostmarketOS、Mobianをはじめとして、モバイル端末用のLinuxディストリビューションにはいくつかの選択肢がある。モバイル端末用のUIにも複数の選択肢がある。さまざまな端末でバッテリーの消費を最適化し、カメラやセンサーが動くようにし、同じアプリが使えるように、デバイスドライバをはじめとして諸々の機能を開発するのは膨大なコストになりそうなので、Androidでいいじゃん、となる。
先日、東洋水産をフォローしている企業にフォローを解除するようにというポストが話題になったけど、これを見て真っ先に自分が思い浮かんだのが、東京2020オリンピックのスポンサー不買運動。あれもフォローしている企業は一切使わないみたいなのに似ている気がする。
オリンピックのスポンサーは原則として1業種1社なのだが、東京2020オリンピックに限っては (日本の広告事情 (電通のせい) を考慮した結果なのだろうが) 1業種に複数社が加盟することが特例で認められているため、スポンサー企業の製品を一切使用しないとなると生活が不便になる。
例えば以下のような感じである。
※ 今回はどの業種のスポンサーであるかというのは考慮せず、企業名のみで判断することにした。たとえば (下の例にはないが)明治は本来「乳製品・菓子」の業種で契約していたため、それ以外の製品を宣伝することはできない。だが、この記事の場合そこまで考慮すると非常に手間がかかるため、今回は明治製品を一切使用しない生活と仮定してすすめるということになる。また、この記事は業種ではなく日常生活のカテゴリーで分類しているため、同じ企業名が複数回出ることもある。
などなど...。全部書くときりがなくなるのだが、嫌いな企業をフォローしている企業製品は一切使わないとなると、将来的には上の東京2020オリンピックみたいなことになりかねないということは言っておく。
気になったのだが、いまここを見ている人で東京2020オリンピックを2019年以前から反対していた人はどのくらいいるのだろうか。
以前人力検索はてなで見たときは最初から反対が半分、賛成から反対に寄ったのが半分だったが。

結果として、アメリカのITエコシステムは長年の積み重ねによって強固になり、競争力が維持されている。イギリスはこのエコシステムを持たないため、後発の企業が成長しにくい。
アメリカは「市場規模」「投資環境」「移民政策」「政府支援」「エコシステム」のすべてが揃っているため、IT分野で圧倒的な強さを誇る。
