I loved this series.
Good humour wth the cross dressing. I really liked the way they sort of touched on the issue of gedner equality with Hibiki Sensei trying to get girls to help with jobs that were previously only for the boys to do, girls being able to wear proper uniforms instead of old fashioned skirts for PE, trying to change the schools attitude to genders, etc.
I didn't like the idea of Kuzuha and (Amawa) Hibiki Sensei crossing that line teachers should NEVER EVER cross.
But all in all, a damn good school life/based comedy.

I think this series was much better then I could of ever expected. I mean nowadays most series that try to cover things similar to this are usually more over the top and annoying to watch.
Surprisingly even though this had some ridiculous things in it, it wasn't as extreme as it could of been. This really makes me want to watch some more older series rather then new stuff.

This series was really great. At the beginning i was afraid, that it would be boring after a few episodes.
But the more episodes I watched, the better was the anime. But the last episode was a bit dissappointing because there was an open ending.
I can understand the sensei / Kuzuha thing, because I was so deeply in love with my teacher when I went to school. And be eased, he never did anything.This post was edited bykikichi (73819) on 31.03.2011 10:45.

YES! Someone agrees with me about the ending! I think they need to do a second season (Don't know how they would...but...) or they shouldn't have said that "I'll be back one day" line.

I too totally loved this series, at first I really disliked the animation and I thought it would be your average "just wasting my time" flick but in the end I totally loved it for all the reasons described by previous posters.
I only wish students were a little bit older if they decided to put a romance in it, its weird thinking of Kuzuha & sensei with her being 14. But on the other hand the caring and love those two shared was a big part of this anime and I rather see it as it was than not have it at all.
And those two tennants and baa-chan were really funny, whats with that board one kept dragging around?

I enjoyed this series. I ended up marathoning it, which is fairly rare for me nowadays and speaks of the interest it generated for me. I liked the tension created by the cross-dressing; it was not totally serious (asatte no houkou, koi kaze) but not ridiculous / frivolous either.
I also enjoyed the tension of the sensei-fuko relationship: he knew that age and relationship were barriers for him, and he was able to push his feelings largely aside (unlike the more serious and even more taboo Koi Kaze).
There were some ridiculous moments, for sure: baa-chan's Rideback for one. This guy was pretty innocent in his motives, but when all the "evidence" was piled against him, he looked pretty guilty.
If this series was more serious, I would have liked it more. It fell back on some of the lesser tropes of anime: silly side-men antics, deus ex machina, and a "funny" pet all come to mind. There was enough character-driven story to make the anime palatable on the whole, however.

Yeah, the ending was disappointing to me as well but on tyhe other hand, it was the issues such as gender equality and the humour in the cross dressing that appealed to me a lot. I also found Hibiki-Sensei quite endearing and likeable. Yes, his methods are EXTREMELY unorthodox and I'm pretty certain illegal^^; but his motives are pure and ideallistic. A fantastic character as well IMO.

Gets boring really fast and the last episodes are just bad, with nothing funny and full of stupid pseudo-drama or whatever. Not a good watch. The grandma was funny though.
