The Encode looked even worse than Nanashi/AnY's version. Stick With SHS, They have a grasp on the show. And same question, why did they start so late into the show's airing?

Apparently marcolinu probably was too stupid to be able to open the file, or doesn't understand the different between source and encode quality. As a experieced encoder, the only part of the video that was bad was the SOURCE (you can tell...as a experieced TV capper as well, it's the TV source that washes the video out, NOT the actual encode). The encode itself was beautiful, leaving hardly any blemishes in the video itself (ex. Blocking, chroma squares...ect.). Audio quality was also excelent as well. The codecs and encoder did their part well, I would have to say that the raw provider needs to search harder for better raws if they want better quality (altho, it was decent enough for a TV rip).

I'm not gonna comment on our encode, because I may be biased since its a friend. But what I can tell you is that 1) ShS translation are... well, objectionable. Thats why me + ZD decided to gather a few people and do this (@time of ep1). 2) ShS encode is kind of overkill on some parts (IE: first episode, when Karasu was getting blown away, it was tuned too bright) and 3) Nanashi+AnY are doing a good job with their usual wonderful translation + notes (which, I guess I failed @ providing for Anime-keep)... except their karaoke was kind of blinding for me... fancy is good for screenshots, not karaoke.

Bottom line, if you dun like it, then dun watch it from us, go with other group. I'm sure other groups will accept your leeching with arms wide open. We have the next 8 ep's translation all done, just waiting for the AFX dood to fix up karaoke and we can start spewing them out. Whether you download it or not that'd be your pick. I know I'm keeping them until the DVD comes out here.

A-Keep used to be one of the best subgroups out there. Long time ago.

Now the superb quality of their subs (blah-blah-blah) is absolutely meaningless, all because of the ridiculous release speeds. Yes, I know that one should not complain about the things he gets for free, but that's not quite the point here..
Say, why would you wanna wait for [A-K]ep.4 of your current favorite show, when EVERY other group is already around ep.20? That is already sad. And here comes the most interesting part. A couple of months passes, The_Gods_@_A_Keep are still promising ep.4, but s#it!! the show gets licensed! "OMG! sorry guys", they say.
And what do we have? Another 5-ep-long castrated show from the_ultimate_subbers.
R.I.P.
Black Cat (5)
Honey and Clover (1)
Mahou Sensei Negima (6)
Mai-Hime (9)
I can go on forever..

How many eps of Noein will they finish, i wonder? 2? 3 maybe?
Thanx guys.
Why even bother?

As we all know Anime-Keep don't do licensed anime and drop shows they're working on when they're licensed...
Black Cat (Licensed)
Honey and Clover (Continued without A-Keep)
Mahou Sensei Negima (Licensed)
Mai-Hime (Licensed)
Try doing some research before acting like a knob...

Dear aussie =)

ntrophy's complain was not about the fact that [A-K] drops the licensed shows, but about their speeds that are below ridiculous.
Many subgroups drop the shows after licensing (it's not an issue to complain about) but they usually manage to do somewhat more than 1-2 episodes before that happens, now don't they? ~__^

Try reading using not only your eyes next time, okay? ^__^v

PS: Look @ [A-K]"Noein"! 1ep. ~ stalled. Personal record of theirs, ain't it? lol

And once again the anime they're subbing is licensed and they don't even sub 3 episodes... sigh

Shinsen's subs are doing great with this series but if A-Keep does this with the a higher quality and DVD rips then I'm definetly looking forward to watch this. I'll also compare once I get my hands on this one...^^

Edit: Saberhagem - Well that's A-Keep for you...sigh

Heh, it would seem ntrophy's prediction was fulfilled all too well: they barely got two episodes out before it was licensed. In addition, there are a few series I would like to add to his "RIP" list:

Soukyuu no Fafner (11) - For no other reason than a lack of interest.

Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid (6) - Such a good series, too...

Maria-sama ga Miteru (11) - Words simply cannot express the frustration I felt upon learning that they dropped this. I'd been waiting for each and every one of their releases since they announced the series in January of 2004, through to the release of the eleventh episode in March of 2005. It's a thirteen episode series - they were so close to completing it until, in the summer of 2005... they dropped it. ARGH.

So yeah, it happened again with Noein. It's such a shame, because Anime-Keep used to be such an awesome group.
