When I read the names of the New Warriors, I cringed so hard.

I felt like I read some sort of a parody comic for modern times. Or some Twitter shit trying to be serious. I want to believe whoever approved it, was under drugs. The only explaination I give to myself. It will tank obviously, let's be honest.

post #44 bykumorimj on 28.03.2020 18:28

With modern Marvel books, it's no wonder stuff is going down. Who the hell wants to read such cancers as the New New Warriors or the Children of the Atom?

post #43 byJigvell on 24.03.2020 17:01

I think that each publisher will have to decide that for themselves. Books that are already done will go this way, but anything new that was planned won't come out neither in digital or physical edition.
We will see after a month I think, right now everything changes status hourly.

post #42 bygreeksot on 24.03.2020 16:52

They will go temporarily with digital. I mean, might as well at this point.

post #41 byJigvell on 24.03.2020 16:44

I stopped ordering books for now. At least I save some money I'm only buying hardcovers anyway, but this will have effect on everything - lot of collected editions will be cancelled or pushed back to later dates.
I wouldn't worry about Marvel or DC as their parent companies won't let them go under, but smaller publishers will get hit hard.
Questions is if they will continue with digital releases. It is profitable, but huge money still lies in the physical copies.

post #40 bygreeksot on 24.03.2020 16:22

It's very bad, indeed. And the worst part is, they can't do anything about it.
Not just comic book stores, but MANY small business as well.

Here, they have a delivery system, so if you have some orders or you want to order something, they will deliver it. So, not as bad. But, it's just a work-around system.

post #39 byJigvell on 24.03.2020 16:13

With what is going on right now in the world, the comic book industry is in trouble (like lot of other industries). They stopped publishing new comics and many small shops are already saying that they will have to declare bankruptcy.

Damn ninjas cutting onions.... :')

post #37 byThe_Reaper on 26.12.2012 15:57

Actually, I haven't but, man am I kinda sorry for what happens in that issue.

I got a tweet from Marvel a little earlier with a video saying what happens more or less. You can see it here if you want.

post #36 bygreeksot on 26.12.2012 15:49

No. And please, don't tell you haven't heard of Superior Spider-Man.

post #35 byThe_Reaper on 26.12.2012 15:48

Good grief, what fate has befallen the planet? Anyone seen the Amazing Spider-Man issue #700?

post #34 bygreeksot on 21.12.2012 14:28

A suggestion is go to big bookstores that also sell comic books (p.x Public) or a local comic book store (Jemma, Solaris).

Also:

The 2nd printing of Spider-Man/Obama crossover story and the Platinum Edition of Spider-Man #1 (by McFarlane)

X-Factor (Vol.1) #1, and The Uncanny X-Men #300 signed by JRJR himself.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/92897049.jpg/

X-Men (Vol.2) #1 Cover D and Star Trek/X-Men crossover, made for the 30th anniversary of Star Trek. Yes, it exists and believe it or not, you DO need to watch an episode of Star Trek The Original Series to understand it.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/820/26514115.jpg/

The program of Athens Comicdom Con '10, cover designed by John Romita Jr himself. Yes, in 2010 JRJR came to Athens, in the wake of Kick-Ass movie and was a special guest for the 2nd day. He signed for me that X-Men issue you saw earlier and some HCs I'll see you later.

Cardcaptor Sakura comic book form #1. It's pretty much CCS manga, just flipped backwards, so you can read it like you do with a comic. And each issue is a chapter.

For that DD issue... I love the cover.

Speaking of JRJR....
The HCs he signed for me.
Kick-Ass, Daredevil The Man without Fear, which is his 2nd favorite work JRJR ever did, first being the 9/11 Amazing Spider-Man issue with the black cover. And then, we have Eternals, by Neil Gailman. And we see the signs. He's awesome and a cool guy. After a 2-3 Q&A with him and waiting 1 hour in the line. One of best moments of my life.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/837/80463540.jpg/

Yes, I also have the OST of the infamous Spider-Man Broadway musical.
Haven't opened it, so I can prove people of that sticker.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/211/97599206.jpg/

A free pin of the Green Lantern movie I got from my favorite local comic book store. For anyone asking, haven't watched it and probably won't.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/801/31830069.jpg/

EVERY single original Asterix comic book. In Greece, Asterix is one of the most famous and beloved comic books and characters. I don't have movie tie-ins and crap.

post #33 byThe_Reaper on 18.12.2012 21:48

Maybe I wasn't looking well, but I didn't notice any Yu-Gi-Oh! box.

Still that is an impressive collection. I only have those late Marvel figures and not all of them. I picked those I liked and bought them. And I wasn't done with the collection and they had to go and stop it from releasing.

And that Punisher: Circle of Blood is impressive as well. If only I knew were to look for it....

post #32 bygreeksot on 18.12.2012 15:53

Also, tomorrow I'll post my more collectible issues.
And If I can, anything else I left out.

post #31 bygreeksot on 18.12.2012 15:23

Also, that YGH blue tin box has some Gameboy, Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance games. All fit in one damn tin.

post #30 bygreeksot on 18.12.2012 15:22

No problemo.
Took me like half an hour to take pics, upload them and then posting them here. XD

post #29 byJigvell on 18.12.2012 15:16

Holy shit. Especially that Marvel collection is impressive. You are not just some ordinary collector. Thanks for posting this.

post #28 bygreeksot on 18.12.2012 14:12

And remember I haven't even posted my DVDs and 360 games.

post #27 bygreeksot on 18.12.2012 14:07

And because you demanded it, here's my bookshelf:

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/254/20121218145354.jpg/

My shelf in a nutshell. The last one down has crap, like papers and such. And I am not showing my DVDs and my 360 games.

1st shelf and some of my Marvel TPBs.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/202/94361188.jpg/

Those are the UK releases. They distinguise from the ones of US, since they are thicker.

1st shelf, more Marvel TPBs

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/525/61702656.jpg/

I have almost every Marvel Zombies. I miss 5, Return, Supreme, Evil Evolution, Book of Demons, Angels and Monstrocities

Still 1st shelf

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/171/60513679.jpg/

YES, I have the Heroes Reborn Avengers, with Rob Liefeld drawing the 1st half of it. And yes, it's horrifying. And yes, the 1st vol. of Mangaverse.

Final strech of the 1st shelf.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/28/18465928.jpg/

If you can notice, I have some of Malibu Comics' stuff, the 1st Marvel/Malibu crossover and the 1st 4 issues of Prime. I don't know if I should put them on "Other companies" or with Marvel.

2nd shelf, only Marvel HCs

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/254/96096168.jpg/

<3 Mary Jane Loves Spiderman. :3

2nd shelf

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/525/93257195.jpg/

2nd shelf

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/405/30565327.jpg/

This and next pic, have the Premiere Classic HCs. Highly recommended.

Final part of 2nd shelf

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/6/33057160.jpg/

Premiere Classics, Premiere Editions and a B&W Spectacular Spiderman magazine and a Claremont/Manara X-Men story with the X-Girls, released only in Italy and Greece.

3rd shelf, part one

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/248/70607133.jpg/

The "Other Companies" part. Image, Dark Horse, etc.

3rd shelf, part two

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/90/71511258.jpg/

YES, more Marvel!

3rd shelf part three

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/705/90997408.jpg/

Final stretch of Marvel stuff and Slipcase HC Limited Edition of Frazzeta's Death Dealer. A nice dark fantasy story. I have almost every Squadron Supreme-related stuff, incl. Supreme Power. What I miss is Squadron Supreme Nighthawk vs Hyperion and Ultimate Power, the crossover of Ultimateverse and Supremeverse.

4th shell, part one.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/5/57340610.jpg/

Transformers TPBs and inter-companies crossover. I freakin' love Transformers. I must be the only one in entire Greece who has TF: The Ark II, which is a sourcebook about the Japanese G1 characters.

4th shell, part two

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/4/64202801.jpg/

And now, some Vertigo/DC stuff. Along with Invincible and Spider-Man, Animal Man is one of my favorite superheroes ever.

4th shell, part three.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/593/47730933.jpg/

Christ, I feel ashamed for having Identity Crisis and All-Star Batman and Robin The Boy Wonder close to Watchmen and V fo Vendetta.

4th shell, final part.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/201/48972120.jpg/

If you ever see Flex Mentallo, BUY IT INSTANTLY! It's simply if not the best, one of the best Grant Morrison comics, along with All-Star Superman and JLA: Earth-2. And get the Atomic Knights too. It's awesome! Post-apocalyptic world with a group of knights fighting for justice and liberty.

Stuff outside of the shelf, since they couldn't fit in the shelf well

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/831/78627657.jpg/

This is one great piece! It's a combination of picture book and comic book. Shazam visits a hospital with sick children and gives them some joy and happines. I love it.
Also, Alex Ross, man. He rocks.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/404/30126998.jpg/

The OEL Marvel mangas. They are simply like Mangaverse, but a lot fucking better. The Wolverine one is nice and the X-Men one is a shoujo (!!!) comic, like Fruits Basket (!!!).

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/404/39534041.jpg/

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/20/24794181.jpg/

A TPB with the original 40s Cpt America comic strips on newspapers, a FF novel and a promo thing for X-Men/Wolverine and the X-Men books, post-Schism.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/33/45191956.jpg/

Digest TPB Vol.1 of Morrison's X-Men run.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/209/89054130.jpg/

BOONDOCKS!

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/29/18150628.jpg/

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/6/46316506.jpg/

Garfield crap

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/685/34020041.jpg/

The Image Comics 10th Anniversary HC. The only GOOD one story from the bunch of Savage Dragon, Spawn, Shadowhawk, Cyberforce is the Savage Dragon one.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/717/86101774.jpg/

A small thing for writing comics from Alan Moore himself.

Enjoy!!
