Niiya Teiichi is the main protagonist of the story. One day, after getting lost in the maze of rooms that make up the old school building, he encounters Kanoe Yuuko, the legendary ghost of the school, and befriends her. He is, at first, the only one able to see Yuuko. The two of them found the Paranormal Investigations Club to learn about the mysteries surrounding Yuuko herself as well as the other mysteries of the school.
