A high school student with a bright and direct personality. He assembles a self-made rocket on top of an abandoned building believing that it will fly. Soon after the death of Asuna's father, he receives a shigofumi from him explaining the truth behind his death. Nevertheless he decides that he believes in Asuna and tracks her down to tell her. However, in reality she really was the one who killed her father, and she stabs Shouta and kills him for knowing the truth. Following his death he sends her a shigofumi expressing his love for her.
