TagscomedyAnime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience.Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy.,ecchiEcchi, or etchi (エッチ), is a common Japanese word meaning "indecent", "lewd", "frisky" or "sexy"; its usage can be compared to the English word "naughty". Among western anime fans, the term is used when vague sexual content, such as skimpy clothing or nudity, is prominent. In Japanese, however, it is a catch-all term for all things anyhow sexual in nature, mild or otherwise.,half-length episodesHalf-length episodes are regular episodes that are somewhat shorter than the standard length. This includes episodes that are 11 to 20 minutes in length; shows with episodes up to and including 10 minutes are short episodes instead.,loliLoli is a short form of the word Lolita, describing sexually precocious young girls. The related fetish for this is called Lolicon (Lolita Complex).,mangaManga is the lifeblood that drives the anime industry. Everything and its mother is based on manga. However! There are exceptions where the manga was not the basis for the anime.See also manhua and manhwa.,pantsu"Panties" in Japanese. Upskirt views in various positions are typical, however all forms of partial or fully exposed panties are accepted. Exposure is usually accidental, but may also be deliberate. Pantsu views may be exclusive to the viewer without impacting any characters. Bikinis are not pantsu.,romanceRomance describes a story that deals with love between two or more characters typically also having an optimistic ending. Romance is also a difficulty encountered when creating a harem.,school lifeSince a large part of the anime audience still takes part in school life or is visiting college, it is only natural to choose a setting the audience can identify with, be it elementary, middle, or high school. For the older viewers a college setting with more mature real-life problems is appropriate. And since clubs take up so much time in the lives of students, these are obviously also important.,science fictionScience fiction stories usually focus on how situations could be different in the future when we are more technologically advanced; due to either our own achievements or having met with other civilizations whom we have learned from.,sudden girlfriend appearanceSudden Girlfriend Appearance anime involve a sudden change in the main character`s life where (s)he suddenly gets confronted with an individual (s)he`s sexually attracted to, the two of them inevitably becoming a couple. -[similar]

Rie voices an explosive loli. Comedy is fun but give it a few episodes to start being interesting. It's quite good if you like this sort of thing.

Ok, the japs can be very sick if they want to and this is bordering comedy with crime. Although today we have lots of shows with little girls acting mature and in love with older men, back when this series was made, the shock was ten fold.

So the story is about a typical male teenager TM who likes older women, being forced to live as a married couple with a 12 year old girl, just because she is in love with him and she will blow up if he rejects her. Because she is a robot… with emotions… that blows up if she is not emotionally satisfied… And that is the story… somewhat.

Ok, I’m not going to try and make sense of any of this; the story is to the most part just an excuse to have a loli in the same bed as a teenager. Plus they are supposed to do naughty stuff but he likes only older women and she gets pissed and havoc breaks out and that is the whole reason the series doesn’t end right away. There is very little story in it and to the most part you think it’s just another storyless erotic comedy with pedo-borderline elements. Supposed she is a robot, supposed he is not interested, supposed popping your head like a spring or exploding every 15 minutes means anything at all. Yet in the last episodes all of a sudden you get a somewhat plot and seriousness and even a finale… a bold one. So it is not entirely without a story; it wastes a lot of time fooling around just for kicks. It is still very stupid and impossible to swallow but all things considered, there is a beginning, a middle and an ending. So I will be grateful and give the story the base score for covering the essentials.

The characters are nowhere near special or memorable. In fact, most don’t even have a personality at all and the short duration of each episode does not help much. Besides the main duo, all others are poorly placed cardboards that hardly aid in something and even the duo is generic. The boy is the typical indecisive lead that has a bit more balls than usual, while the girl is a pedophile’s wet dream. Still, the flashback that occurs towards the end suddenly creates an actual depth of sorts that somewhat excuses them being as they are; even going as far as excusing them being together. It’s weak but it’s there. So once again I give the base score for at least trying to show something and even offering a catharsis of sorts.

Animation and sound are nothing out of the ordinary. Bright colors, typical backgrounds, typical character figures and typical panties with bears on them. The little robot girls look like they jumped out of a date sim or something with all those weird accessories and bright colors, but they are otherwise average cuties. Although fan servish at its core, it doesn’t really overdo it as most do, yet never feels dull to watch either. Voice acting or music themes, ok, I hardly remember them; that counts as average again in my book.

Well, enjoyment is easy to figure out based on all the above. Yes, it’s the base again. It’s a show that got stuck in the middle. Not too bold or wacky, not too smut or dull.

Value is almost not existent, as this anime has really nothing special to offer. There are far more interesting or spicy shows out there revolving around the love between a man and a female robot (Chobits) or a man and a little girl (Kodomo no Jikan) or even plain old hentai with loli robots (Petit Roid 3).

Aha, this was a fun series. Let's start from the top, shall we?

Plot: Boy falls for older girl. Boy loses older girl. Boy is depressed. Boy comes home to find a brand-new young "wife" who is clingy (to say the least) Boy gets pissed off and wife goes sailing out the window, overjoyed that she has been "thrown for the first time by her danna-sama!"

Yes, that's Rizelmine for the first couple of episodes. Sounds silly? It is. Sounds cliche? It is. Sounds like another harem anime out of thousands? It is. Then why did I enjoy it so much?

Plot: It does seem cliche, doesn't it? I've been known to enjoy anime no matter how cliche they are because I'm the kind of fan who focuses on characters instead of plot. But it's original in how she's already married to him, and the huge government situation. I've also never seen a little girl go flying through the air so much-it's like Love Hina reversed. Of course she never suffers any REAL injury. I read a very ignorant review on some idiotic site that said Rizelmine was some kind of sick wife-abusing anime. That is NOT true. It's slapstick; Rizel never actually gets hurt, just gets thrown around a lot in a comedic way. And she seems to enjoy it very much.

Animation: I loved the colors. Rizel, with her pink hair and kimono brightens everything up and the atmosphere is very cheerful. The overall feel is...cute. Not outstanding CGI, but just cute.

Characters: Rizel is probably the most original character out of the bunch. She's this hilariously naive, sugar-adorable little angelic masochist. Despite her explosive fits of crying, she can also be really mature, whereas most girls would run off crying "I hate you! Jerk!" She is also very young-looking. *score another point for originality.* I'm getting very tired of the "voluptuous dream girl with F-cups" thing, so to me, Rizel-chan was great. However this gives way to the convincingly "lolicon" undertone of this series...=/ But if she's not human, does it count?

Iwaki Tomonori, voiced by the famous Kappei Yamaguchi (Inuyasha) is your typical Kappei character. Short-tempered, moody, and rather cold, but quite endearing in his own awkward way.
I'll admit I didn't like him much at first. He's incredibly mean to Rizel and can be a downright jerk sometimes. But it's important to watch the whole thing first before you put him on your hate list. Once I saw the other sides to Tomonori, I changed my opinion a full 180 degrees.

The other characters are pretty stereotype, save Aoi. I really liked Aoi and I wish that they treated her better. She's really sweet and I'm really glad she didn't get in the way of our main couple and she helped Rizel as much as she could.
Then we have the perverted panty-obsessed lolicon, Ryuunosuke, ok he WAS funny, but that kid is sooo disturbing and he is also a jerk to Aoi. Kyouko, the incredibily annoying big-breasted, rival glasses girl (I HATE types like her) and the comic-relief parents of Tomonori and Rizel's papas and mamas. Let's not forget the random homeless dog that makes random appearances.

Themes:I'm a girl. Fanservice series aimed at guys USUALLY turns me off. But it's easy for me to ignore it and look for the better parts like romance, character development, and feelings it conveys. And I'm really glad I did. Plus it's too damn funny, even the ecchi parts. Or maybe especially the ecchi parts? Because it's not real ecchi. Let me explain this: throw in a seemingly naughty situation, add some VERY wrong dialogue, and just when you think you can't take anymore, hit the punchline and see that it's something so ridiculous that's not ecchi at all. LOL!!! I've laughed out loud at those little jokes so many times. Rizelmine proves that the right dialogue is funnier than anything visual. Add 10 points.

Fanservice: Yes, there's some. It's not constantly in your face 24/7, but it goes either way: lolicon-ness or huge breasts. There is no actual nudity until the second season and it's something we could have down without. Oh well.

Themes: I love all anime relationships pretty much and that's what keeps me watching a series for the most part. The love in this series goes from laugh-out-loud funny to tearfully sweet.
It also gets dramatic later on...

Music: It's okay. The opening song is cute, afterall it's Rizel singing-what did you expect? She also sings the endings and I liked the first one more. It's exciting when it's played at the height of the action scenes. The opening and last ending's lyrics sound somewhat "wrong" but maybe I just have an ecchi mind.-_- blame it on my ecchi friends.

Overall, Rizelmine is a sweet little romance series that's a bit naughty but that's what makes it so funny. I think anyone over 16 could enjoy it unless you really despise any kind of ecchi stuff.

Rizelmine gives a twist to the genre of girl suddenly showing up at guys door and wanting to live with him. Rizel is 12 years old and already married to him.

The show is very funny and the romance part is pretty light. Some people are grossed out by some ecchi shots, as Rizel is so young. You either like that, can take it for what it is worth or hate it.

The funny bits are ok and mostly rather silly. The romance is well done if scattered and not used very often. The story is rather episodic but is connected by an overall arc.

The characters are mostly stereotypes and drawn pretty well but on the average side of things. Music and sound are there but you don't notice them much, neither good nor bad.

Overall I liked Rizelmine, even if I would have liked the romance bit much more explored. Also the male lead is very annoying in his treatment of Rizel. He has no redeeming qualities, yet girls hover around him like crazy.

It is ecchi light comedy with a little romance. If you do not shy away from some bear pantsu shots of a 12-year old, this is nice no-brain entertainment if you have a little time.

glasses(2)Glasses (also called eyeglasses or spectacles) are frames bearing lenses worn in front of the eyes, normally for vision correction, eye protection, or for protection from UV rays. For practical tagging purposes, sunglasses should not be considered glasses; the "glasses" tag is specifically about the type that doesn`t block light. However, a character who wears prescription glasses with dark lenses or who wears both eyewear types should take both tags.sunglasses(3)A form of protective eye-wear designed primarily to prevent bright sunlight from damaging or discomforting the eyes. Also used as a fashion detail. For practical tagging purposes, sunglasses should not be considered glasses; apply only the "sunglasses" tag for sunglasses, not both. However, a character who wears prescription glasses with dark lenses or who wears both eyewear types should take both tags.

clothingClothing is fiber and textile material worn on the body.

high heels(1)High heels are a type of shoe in which the heel, compared to the toe, is significantly higher off of the ground. These shoes make the wearer taller, accentuating the calf muscle and the length of the leg overall. There are many types of high heels, which come in different styles, colours, and materials, and can be found all over the world. They have significant cultural and fashionable meanings attached to them, which have been largely shaped by historical contexts over the past thousand years.pencil skirt(1)A pencil skirt is a slim-fitting skirt with a straight, narrow cut. Generally the hem falls to, or is just below, the knee and is tailored for a close fit. It is named for its shape: long and slim like a pencil. Pencil skirts are often worn together with a business suit or a blazer, sometimes with a matching waistcoat vest.school uniform(9)A type of uniform worn in Japanese schools (called "seifuku" in Japanese), generally high school age or younger. They can vary considerably; commonly, females will wear a sailor uniform (modelled off the British Royal Navy uniforms in 1920) and males will often wear a "gakuran", which is a dark button-up uniform modelled off Prussian army uniforms. But expect to see a substantial amount of variety.thighhighs(2)Thighhighs or stockings are a close-fitting, variously elastic hosiery piece that fully cover and extend above the knees, or partly cover the knees, leaving only the thigh area exposed. Generally, "thighhighs" refers to stockings that stay up by the use of built-in elastic. In contrast, "stockings" is the general term and/or refers to the kind of stockings that need a suspender belt / garter belt. Hosiery that rise up to, but not including, the knee, or slightly thereunder, are knee highs.

This means that the ribbon, with or without a bow loop, is tying a collar that is cut close to the neck (i.e. not a low-cut collar); otherwise, the ribbon is just a common case of ribbons on clothes. Please see the full description for more detailed instructions on when to apply or not apply this tag.scarf tie(1)A scarf tie is an item that would ordinarily be a scarf, but which is being used to tie a collar, typically a low-cut collar, well below the neck line, or attached in a similar way. Scarf ties are a common part of the sailor uniform frequently seen worn by Japanese schoolgirls. A scarf tie is not to be confused with a regular scarf; they should be treated separately. It is also not a ribbon tie; in fact, despite the name, a scarf tie is not a type of tie at all.

Earrings are worn by both sexes, although more common among women, and have been used by different civilizations in different times.,high heelsHigh heels are a type of shoe in which the heel, compared to the toe, is significantly higher off of the ground. These shoes make the wearer taller, accentuating the calf muscle and the length of the leg overall. They have significant cultural and fashionable meanings attached to them, which have been largely shaped by historical contexts over the past thousand years.,pencil skirtA pencil skirt is a slim-fitting skirt with a straight, narrow cut. This hair length is longer than what one would typically, though not always, see on most males. Short hair includes hair that goes no more than a centimetre or two beyond the chin; anything longer is shoulder-length. Typical male hair at the back of the head which reaches the shoulders does not count as shoulder-length hair; the individual hair strands are very short (0-4 cm), and therefore count as short hair.,teacherA teacher is a person who helps people to learn. A teacher often works in a classroom. There are many different kinds of teachers. Some teachers teach young children in schools called elementary or primary schools. Others teach older children in middle, junior high and high schools. Some teachers teach adults in more advanced schools.

female, scarf tieA scarf tie is an item that would ordinarily be a scarf, but which is being used to tie a collar, typically a low-cut collar, well below the neck line, or attached in a similar way. Scarf ties are a common part of the sailor uniform frequently seen worn by Japanese schoolgirls. A scarf tie is not to be confused with a regular scarf; they should be treated separately.
