Before I go full fanboy-mode be warned, I love this series! I love the original material, I love the premise, the execution, the animation, the music and everything about it. For those not familiar with the franchise, but interested in adventure, fantasy, cooking and a quirky but lovable cast, look no further. For fans of DnD ambiance, well you're in luck! For those, who love a well-written story with a unique twist on a familiar concept, well great! I cannot emphasise how much I envy the lucky soul that is yet to stumble on this fascinating world, I envy the first dose of what is about to be your next drug of choice!

If you're anything like me, and the thought of watching people eat as a concept of entertainment just, REPELS you, hear me out..

What even is this!? Its TOO GOOD.

Like a slowly-cooked meal, it seems like it wont amount to much at first, however, as the ingredients melt in a pot of heat, flavors, and RICH PLOT GOODNESS. When your meal is ready, it WILL make sense. This series is like freshly-baked bread; it SLOWLY rises to the top!

For the most part it bides its time, and it feels "Monster-of-the-week" at times, but when the UNIQUENESS and FLAVOR meet in the middle with PLOT, it is a MASTERPIECE in the making.

The CREATIVITY is off-the-charts!

"Just Let them Cook".

An interesting if not odd series. This follows an interesting storyline of trying to rescue a fallen party member, with a healthy dash of cooking as the main course of the series. Lots of interesting developments, but mostly character and story driven. At times I had difficulty staying with it, because it felt oddly detached from itself (strange thing to say, I know), in the process of the story moving forward.

However, you learn a tremendous amount about the world this story is built within, and as it progresses, the forces driving everything. Plenty of backstory put in at appropriate times as well.

By no means flawless, but still quite a good watch. Season 2 is set up well, though the ending of this season felt a little abrupt and strange.

This follows Laios (male warrior) trying to save his sister with his friends in a dungeon and rather than taking normal food rations, go about slaying monsters and eating them. The beginning half is funny as its light-hearted and has tons of humor and the later half gets more serious; however the show tries to keep the same humor going which at times doesn't mesh due to the seriousness and not to mention the MC can be absent-minded which can be frustrating at times. Despite some of the humor not blending with the 2nd half of this season, this was still a fun watch and curious where the next season will go.

Wow… the first half was silly fun, and I thought it was all about eating monsters and a whimsical story. However, the second half truly delivered with unique and unexpected ideas that surprised me and made me laugh. Meanwhile, the main storyline took a more serious turn, leaving me curious about how it would unfold.

This series centers around a plot that forces the main character and his party to rush through the dungeon, without the proper preparations forcing them to make do with what is around them, using the creatures and everything in the dungeon for nourishment. The focus on this series is the food, having it emphasized throughout each and every episode, they do a brilliant job in portraying as colorful delicious and tasty, which bring it close the beauty and ingenuity portrayed in other anime who's focus is almost only on food.

The story progression of this anime, is done quite well never quite feeling bored always surprised by a turn of events, groups meeting up with the main character never slow down the pace of the story each episode having it's own challenge to be dealt with, but with little to no angst. I greatly enjoyed this story and it's pacing. Hope the next season doesn't disappoint.
