TagsactionAction anime usually involve a fairly straightforward story of good guys versus bad guys, where most disputes are resolved by using physical force. It often contains a lot of shooting, explosions and fighting.,comedyAnime whose central struggle causes hilarious results. These stories are built upon funny characters, situations and events. A comedy anime is laced with humour and sets out to provoke laughter from the audience.Japanese humour can be a bit strange to westerners, so if you`re new to this type of humour, just bear with it; it`ll most likely grow on you if you`re a fan of other kinds of comedy.,ecchiEcchi, or etchi (エッチ), is a common Japanese word meaning "indecent", "lewd", "frisky" or "sexy"; its usage can be compared to the English word "naughty". Among western anime fans, the term is used when vague sexual content, such as skimpy clothing or nudity, is prominent. In Japanese, however, it is a catch-all term for all things anyhow sexual in nature, mild or otherwise.,fantasyImaginative or fanciful work, especially one dealing with supernatural elements and themes.,gameBased on an interactive (even if minimally so) form of entertainment software, generally available for PCs, consoles or arcade machines.,haremThree or more characters, generally female, are under the influence of one character, normally male. Their interactions are romantically or sexually loaded. The female characters often draw heavily from stock archetypes. Sexual tones are applied to the lead`s behavior and to the members` depiction. The lead will often be physically abused for his behavior. The harem may be only a support to an existing or predictable relationship, or the lead may end up in relationships with most or all members.,power suitPower Suits are similar to Piloted Robots which are controlled from inside the robot except that Power Suits tend to be more directly tied to how the character moves and they are usually not as big as Piloted Robots can be. They are still mechanical and shouldn`t be confused with plug suits.,small breastsSmall breasts (flat chested) are breasts that would be considered below the average size for real life medium breasts.,super powerBe it an ancient Greek Heracles, a cybernetic muscle-man, or a fourteen year-old girl in a mini-skirted sailor suit. As long as they have super powers, they`re in the show.,visual novelThe two terms are similar yet different, however, the fact that they look and `feel` the same outweighs the technical differences. For clarification, visual novels are considered a sub-genre of adventure games and the term does not cover simulations. -[similar]

I always liked a light hearted anime, yumeria proved to be one of my favourites, the opening song is great too. And most of the characters are just so cute. The storyline is not really that bad too by any sense it wasn't meant to be a serious anime with serious and complicated storylines

Yumeria is a pile of shit.

I am sorry, but can't be nice about this.Yumeria follows all the BAD cliches. One guy, many girls, pantsu shots, etc. Now a cliche anime is okay if you like anime. That's expected. However this anime just does it all wrong. The characters are BEYOND annoying. There's a blue-haired girl namedMone. Who is only capable of saying "Mone." This is a common tool in anime that at times might make a female character cuter by making them only capable of saying one syllable or making a noise like, "Nyu." However, this is just ridiculous, and gets old really quick. There is a character with cat ears whose catch phrase is "Really, it is!" Now again, I hate to share opinion on a review, but that right there is THE WORST catch phrase ever!

The plot is predictable. No plot twists here gentlemen. The story is not original and not entertaining. Our heroes enter a dream world to fight nightmares. Original right? The plot is boring, the characters are annoying, the art is nothing too special, and in all there is nothing about the anime that stands out in a good fashion.

Apparently, this anime is based on a video game that held some dating-sim like elements. Honestly, that sounds pretty cool. However, that does not change the fact thatYumeria the anime, is a waste of time.

Nearly almost dozed off after watching 3 episodes in running, surely only an otaku, a REAL one that is, can finish all the 12 episodes in 1 shot. I've made 4 attempts to clear it all. Between the gap of continuing watching, theres many stress factors.

ITs a story of guy with many girls, given this title a genre tagged with romance? I dun sense any in it.

Well, my apology for giving such a low score, I really meant the score I've allocated; if the first few episodes bores u, its wise to miss it entirely, seriously!

Go grab other titles like Love Hina; Aiyori Aoshi, Part 2 is out! Its more value for money, value for time.

Last negative statement from me on it, its an animation with a storyplot, wanting to go romance, yet no romance, heading for ecchi, yet so childishly presented, heading for comedy, but hey, I aint laughing.

Just all my 5 cents worth of thoughts.

Overall, this series wasn't as good as i thought it was going to be, it was just enjoyable. Once you watched an episode you can't just leave the others alone, it makes you want to keep watching the series until it ends. The plot is like an action game so if your into that you should check it out, what can i say, its good for wasting time and its also enjoyable. If you pick it up there is a 70% chance that you'll regret buying it because the anime is pretty (should i say) stupid. Not to ruin it for anyone but to me the ending was really stupid. The sound or the songs it had weren't really that great for me, to me they s*cked (excuse my language) but overall this would be a 6.5 or 7, it was enjoyable and there was a plot that they stucked too. I didn't enjoy the plot because the plot this anime series had could've easily been extended to about 100 episodes or so, but that might make it boring. This series was never boring to me, i liked every episode and they all kept me entertained but remember, it might be a waste of time for you

Quoted by alzheimer: "Rewatch? I won't. Too boring. Watch this series only if you're otaku enough and if you've already watched everything else there is."

I agree with you... this is something youw atch once, but i dont think its boring. I just won't rewatch because its something that is once in a life time, something you have to watch to find the ending and enjoy it yourself, you can't just rewatch because it'd be boring after you already know everything that will happen.

Yumeria is based off of a revolutionary video game for the PS2, which blends dating sim elements in a 3D world with fights in a rpg style known from games like Final Fantasy.

This show's animation is good. It's colourful and the backgrounds are detailed. The fights are fast-paced, no freeze frames or repeating scenes were used. Transformations are rare and don't take a lot of time and the attacks vary. The characters look really good, the design is nice and the girls have theright proportions, their designs and battle suits are something for the eye. Especially Neneko's look is designed for the average otaku (catgirl look combined with a 10 year old girl,Sakura style), but not only her, also the other girls have every a typical design which attracts every kind of otakus.

The sound is fitting all the time. The opening24 Jikan Aishiteru byMoyu Arishima & Tamaki Nakanishi is energetic and positive, while the endingPrecious Treasure byMasumi Asano has a slightly melancholic tone. The background music in the anime has basically two different sounds. The rather funny and bright one of the real world and the serious and fast beating sound of the dream-world. Most of the background tracks fit in either of these schemes, a bit disturbing is sometimes the use of one tune, it's played some minutes without the slightly varying.

The seiyuus did a good job. Tomokazu's voice isHatano Wataru, an unknown seiyuu, but he did a good job on giving him a believable personality. Mizuki's seiyuu isMasumi Asano (Mai - Popotan,Saga - Tiny Snow Fairy Sugar), she has a really cute voice and did also the ending for Yumeria. Kuyou's seiyuu wasSara Nakayama (Midori - Green Green), she has a tomboyish voice which was fitting for her character. On a sidenote, they both already worked onD.N.Angel where they did the dubbing for theHarada Sisters. The seiyuu for Mone,Moyu Arishima didn't have anything to do, besides training to make thousands of different sounds of just one word, mone, since that was the only word she ever had said even in the end. Mentionable is the seiyuu for Nanase. It wasInoue Kikuko, well-known asBelldandy fromOh! My Goddess andMizuho fromOnegai Teacher.

The characters are typical for this kind of anime, well you can't expect something different since the game was half a dating sim. There we have the protagonist, crappy at school, no girlfriend, but still loved by every woman/girl in this show. But he still has an unique personality which differentiates him from other male protagonists. Then we have the childhood friend and classmate, the tomboyish cousin, the little sister you want to pat on the head, the lolita with catgirl look and her twin sister (ok, that one was rather unique from the beginning) and lastly the mother-like, big breasted cousin which always looks and cares for the protagonist. And they all have one thing in common, they have a crush on the protagonist. Luckily that isn't all, they also get enough screen-time and that is used for their development. So in the end they all have a rather deep personality, even Mone who only spoke one word the whole time, but this one in so many varieties that it almost was as if she spoke normally like every other character.

The story is interesting and the idea of the two different worlds and changing between them while sleeping works good. The first half of the anime is mostly comedic, there are a lot of allusions on other animes and games. The viewer gets to know the characters and their relationships, he gets to know the dream world, Moera, and see our heroes transforming and fighting against the unknown enemies, Faydoom and Muma. In the second half the tone of the show slightly changes and the viewer gets to know more and more about the truth of Moera, Faydoom, Mone, Tomokazu and the other charas. Not everything is as it seems to be and some storyturns make the anime till the end interesting. The last, twelfth, episode has a nice storyturn and the conclusion it provides is one of the best I've seen so far this year. Especially theNate/Neneko Idol Pair was cute and funny in the end.

Yumeria is not outstanding, neither is it one of the best in its genre, but it combines many things and provides some interesting ideas so it never gets boring. The characters, although typical - not to say stereotyped, still provide a lot to the story and are likeable. The mix of humour, drama, and action, and the pace the anime keeps up is really good. With only twelve episodes it's worth watching anytime.

Fans ofDa Capo,Happy Lesson and some other animes like these, should definitely take a look on Yumeria. If you are interested in other rpg-like worlds/fights like.Hack andFinal Fantasy, the Moera parts of this anime could be interesting for you.

Nothing much to say about this anime. It is a hell of a crappy story. Dream world about to take over the real world, beware! Half of the series plays in this dream world, which is more like a bad game world than an actual dream world. The other half is the real world - a guy goes to school and lives together with many girls. The girls also come to the dream world... and they get super power if the guy grabs their tits. Oh yeah. :-)

The best part of it is the animation. It looks good. Sound is not that bad either although there's nothing special or catchy about it.

Value and Enjoyment are nearly nonexistent. The game world is just boring. Really, really boring. If you enjoy game world anime, watch one of the .hack// series or similar instead. The real world is the better part, but if you want to see a guy living together with many girls, there are other anime which did a wayyyy better job here, like Love Hina or Ai Yori Aoshi and many others. If there has to be super powers and ecchi, try Maburaho. So go watch them instead.

Rewatch? I won't. Too boring. Watch this series only if you're otaku enough and if you've already watched everything else there is.

collar(1)A collar is a band, chain, or other device that encircles the neck and is used for purposes of restraint, identification, and/or display of submissiveness. Collars are commonly used on animals and rarely on humans, but may also be used with humans under some circumstances, such as on slaves. A collar is not to be confused with a choker, which is a similar item used for fashion purposes. Please see the tag`s full description for notes on the distinction.glasses(1)Glasses (also called eyeglasses or spectacles) are frames bearing lenses worn in front of the eyes, normally for vision correction, eye protection, or for protection from UV rays. In contrast, "stockings" is the general term and/or refers to the kind of stockings that need a suspender belt / garter belt. Hosiery that rise up to, but not including, the knee, or slightly thereunder, are knee highs.,zettai ryouikiZettai ryouiki, literally "absolute territory", is an area of exposed skin of a female in the gap between thigh-high or over-the-knee hosiery and a miniskirt, shorts, or on occasion a minidress. In addition to the area itself, the term can describe the clothing combination. Please note that zettai ryouiki requires all three components: over-the-knee or thigh-high hosiery, thigh skin, and one of skirt, shorts, or minidress.
