Hiyorimi Hiro has just moved to the city to meet his sister. Since their parents died, he and his sisterSawawa have lived apart. Now, Sawawa has gotten a new job as the caretaker of a creepy old mansion, and has sent Hiro a letter asking him to come and stay there with her. While walking down the street, Hiro saves a young woman clad in Gothic clothes from being crushed by construction beams, but ends up losing his own life in the process. The girl then resurrects him, leaving him alive in the hospital morgue. He wakes up confused over what happened, only to encounter the woman again as she eliminates some wolf creatures. She addresses Hiro asher servant and introduces herself asHime (princess) and explains that she is a member of the royal family of theMonster Realm.

Not bad, fakt je to taká oddychovka na ktorej mi jediné vadil hiro keďže je to ukážkový budiž k ničomu, ale už ma to ani neprekvapovalo, keďže som videl dosť podobných.

V podstate anime bez deja.

This anime has a different fun and mistery feels, which somehow makes it worth watching again.

Not your typical harem anime, though the male character is practically useless, a little slow moving and painfully redundant at times but mildly entertaining. I like the story and the plot, the challenges the princess faces, solutions and her overall character, cold and calculating yet irrational in regards to her soldier. There is a sense of mystery about her world but the outcomes to conflict are not necessarily unpredictable. Overall i quite enjoyed it, predictability and all, it was relaxing.

Perfect comedy. I saw it 2 times and still laughed. Normaly in such anime all girls will fall in love with main male character. In this serie, they are killing him over and over. :D

the show is actually pretty good but for those that seem to have questions i found a series that is close to this one called murder princess. otherwise the animation for its time was bad and if you like to watch a series where the male is weak this might be interesting.

An interesting concept: a princess who fights monsters using a variety of unconventional weapons. Unfortunately, this series is let down by poor animation. Being "Monster Princess" is an action series, this is kinda a key point. This might have been forgivable if the series had sported the interesting art style shown in promotional material prior to the airing of the show, but the end result was generic anime. Only recommended for those into supernatural action series.

Above anything the lack of closure is annoying; otherwise it's a decent watch.

This is one of the anime that I regret watching.
Watch it if you like anime with completely worthless MALE main character.

Well, I think plot and female characters are awesome, but that guy (that so fakin' worthless main male character) suits rather to comedy than to horror. He should achieve some fighting powers, cos that was getting boring after he died 1k times. That could be really great series. It's unfortunately very weak harem too :p advantage is that it's rather "cute girls" anime.

This could have been such an awesome series, only if the writers didn't make the main male character so useless. The dude is in the way of everything to the point where you wish you had an eraser to erase him off the series

I watched this series on the off chance of it being remotely similar to 3x3 Eyes. While I was disappointed in that respect, the series is still nice to watch, if you're looking for something not too demanding.

From the outset, the story had the potential. In the first episode, the main character dies, trying to save a girl, who turns out to be the a monster princess. She revives him, granting him immortality. Any wound will heal itself immediately. The only catch is, that this immortality is not permanent, but has to be recharged by the princess once in a while.

However, throughout the series, the potential of this immortality is used so scarcely, that you could almost remove it altogether without hurting the story in any way. The only purpose his immortality serves, is to explain the immortality of some of the princesses enemies. Mr. main character himself does not often come into a situation, where he would normally have died. In 3x3 Eyes, the immortality theme was used completely differently, the immortal guy would "die" countless times in every chapter.

Apart from the immortality, the story was remotely interesting. A Princess, with an unknown number of more prince/princess siblings, fighting each other over who is to become king. They come from a world of monsters, where vampires, werewolves, zombies, mermaids, androids and other Halloween fairy tale stuff exists.

This outset had potential again, you could expect a lot of twists and turns and fights and development of such a story, but again, this is just not done. Instead, after the 6th episode or so, the whole story gets replaced by a vampire arc, which then drags on for just way too long, especially since that vampire does not have anything to do with the royalty that is fighting each other. So instead of fighting princesses, we get a vampire that is using childish plots, in which he tries to drink the blood of the princess, without much success. After episode 20 or so, this story is again replaced by the original story, and then left unfinished, cause the series ends after episode 24 and the 25th extra episode is just comedy that does not have to do anything with anything (which probably makes it one of the best episodes of the series).

So don't expect a consistent, or serious, story here. All of the things that seem important, are actually just side stories. In the end, this is just your plain old comedy harem story, in a bit of a Halloween setting: Main guy comes to a huge mansion, his sister works as a maid there (big tits, oblivious to anything odd happening around here), the owner of the mansion is said princess (who met, got him killed, and revived our main guy earlier), she has another maid (child android super strong until her power runs out), and as the series progresses more girls come and live in that mansion (or don't live there but want him anyway).

So all in all, it's a big mix, a little bit of everything. While no aspect of the storyline is really done well, the Halloween/Fantasy setting is solid (reoccuring character races, some concept about who is immortal and who isn't, explained well enough etc.), and the characters are well defined enough to make this series a still enjoyable watch.

4 votes... Judging from the lack of ratings, this isn't a popular series, so thanks for reading my review of Kaibutsu Oujo. I enjoyed the series enough to put these thoughts down, and appreciate your honest feedback by votes or comment.

What's it all about? Good question! Monster Princess is really about how enemies can all get along.
This is aMadhouse-produced episodic series (original 2006 fantasy/horror manga by creatorMitsunaga Yasunori) with no story arcs, just natural enemies that are introduced, fight, and then actually coexist due to the zen-influence of the titular princess. In the mythology ofKaibutsu Oujo, wolfmen don't get along with vampires, and royal family members are at war with each other, but inMonster Princess, everything (mostly) works out fine. How you get there is the fun, but the end result is, it really doesn't go anywhere. You end up wanting to see some resolution, character development, or plot goal being reached, perhaps like a love interest between Hime and Hiro. In my mind, it's similar to (but inferior to) another similar character concept,Rozen Maiden, with less character development and little story arc development. Dolls can't fall in love with their masters. Princesses can't fall in love with their resurrected servants. It's just not done.

Animation: 8

The animation is strictly 2d a laMadhouse. Some super deformation (SD) is used, but sparingly. No cinematics (lens flare, forced perspective), nothing unusual, so it looks and feels like 90's anime. That usually gets no more than an 8 from me. Facial expressions are mostly flat, no real attempt to create an internal life from the character's eyes, and there was nothing in the animation to move the needle past an 8. I did like the action sequences (and there is a lot of it, as each week involves some kind of risk to Hiro).

Sound: 7

If you like the op/ed forRozen Maiden, you'll like this one ("BLOOD QUEEN" byAki Misato). Opening montage over the main characters is a staple of anime. The seiyuu (Hime is voiced byAyako Kayasume,Mahoro inMahoromatic;Fuyuka Oura does Hiro Hiyorimi, and she wasYuu Tobita inGakuen Alice) are adequate to their characters, though I found Hime's voicings to be somewhat flat (well, it did match the way her character is designes and written as aloof) and there are only so many ways to voice Flander's one word:Fuga. In comparison,Rozen Maiden did a little better job with voicing for a drawn-flat character. The other characters have more variety, but that's because they get more excited. Nothing unusual about the soundstage, it's mostly non-directional, and the sfx and foley work is fine. Nothing unusual and flat voicing means a 7.5 is max here.

Story: 7

The series is episodic, built around a specific weekly concept, with no real story arcs. Each week there is a moral-to-the-story (as telegraphed by the weekly title), but the characters do not develop much over the series. The main leitmotif is that enemies can co-exist and cooperate, and might be a metaphor for Japan and America or any two countries currently at odds. But because it doesn't go anywhere, it's not really a coherent story, just episodes with cute characters.

Without character development, we have just nice moral points each week which might have metaphorical interpretations to Japanese life, or might not (it's not spelled out). As a story, it will appeal to gradeschool or middle-school children, but adults will want a little more. Nothing more than a 7 here, and it's the weakness of the series.

Character:8

This is likely the best part of the show: character design and development. The stereotypical harem show (only one main male, Hiro, and as the staple in a harem show, he's weak though good-hearted) with no real romance, just a gothic horror element to tie it together. The show had many possibilites for character development. Unfortunately, the creator didn't use many of them. Hiro never becomes more than sympathetic punching bag (just how many times can he die?), but his character is helplesslymoe cute. Hime is so distant and imperial that she fascinates you; you want to know what's going on inside her pretty (but placid) head. She gives the impression of above it all. The other characters (including a distinctly leggy, fan-service vampiress) are entertaining, but somehow don't carry the show.
It's really about the relationship between a REALLY dependent Hiro and his "mistress," Hime. I wanted more, but was entertained by the characters enough to watch the full series. That's an 8 in my book.

Value: 7

You wonder what they could have done if the book (or manga in this case) had been better. It could have given the seyuu more to do. It could have gone somewhere. It might have given some opportunity for character development. But since the series is well animated, and each episode is entertaining by itself, I'll be generous with a 7.5, though kids might give it an 8. They do seem to be having fun!

Enjoyment: 7+ to 8-

I did enjoy the series enough to finish watching it, and that's more than some. I actually liked the characters of Hime (princess) and Hiro (Hero?), and in particular wanted to see her develop more, so the frustration of a series that doesn't even "end" well took points off. 8- because of characters and animation, and points off for story or lack thereof.

Conclusion:
An enjoyable series that won't tax your mind, and won't tell you much about life. Just fun to watch, and that's why kids watch anime. Show it to the kids, they'll be glued to the tv.

Unlike a genius, the clever person may be skilled, but only mundanely so, and in contrast to a cunning person, a clever person is not characterized by being sly or apt at surreptitiousness.magic(1)Magic is the art of purportedly manipulating aspects of reality either by supernatural means or through knowledge of unknown occult laws.martial arts(1)Various sports or skills, mainly of Japanese origin, that originated as forms of self-defense or attack, such as judo, karate, and kendo.multi-weapon user(1)no description setshapeshifting -- TO BE SPLIT AND DELETED(1)This tag is meant to be split and deleted. The flail was derived from an agricultural tool by the same name used for threshing to separate grains from their husks. The two-handed flail was used in Europe during the Middle Ages and also in Southeast Asia; similar weapons include the nunchaku. The one-handed flail, however, may not have seen historical use at all.glasses(3)Glasses (also called eyeglasses or spectacles) are frames bearing lenses worn in front of the eyes, normally for vision correction, eye protection, or for protection from UV rays. For practical tagging purposes, sunglasses should not be considered glasses; the "glasses" tag is specifically about the type that doesn`t block light. However, a character who wears prescription glasses with dark lenses or who wears both eyewear types should take both tags.katana(1)A type of Japanese sword, often called a "samurai sword". The term katana may be applied to the standard size moderately curved Japanese sword with a blade length of greater than 60 cm. Variant forms of the spear include the javelin, the lance, and the pike, a very long thrusting spear.sword(1)A sword is a long, edged piece of metal, used as a cutting, thrusting, and clubbing weapon in many civilizations throughout the world. Ethnically speaking, a reasonable real life metric for fair skin is the skin colour of people normally said to be "white".fangs(1)Fangs are multiple prominent canine teeth, usually in one or two pairs; they are often found in vampires or various animals, and they serve purposes such as drawing blood or ripping flesh. They are distinct from and should not be confused with a cuteness fang, a single prominent canine tooth that suggests a cat-like and energetic nature or a state of excitement, or misaligned teeth, which are a facial misfeature with no actual purpose.goatee(2)A goatee is a style of facial hair sporting hair on the chin but not the cheeks. A goatee can coexist with sideburns so long as they do not connect; should the sideburns be connected from side-to-side via the goatee, they would cease to exist individually and form a single beard instead. This hair length is longer than what one would typically, though not always, see on most males. Short hair includes hair that goes no more than a centimetre or two beyond the chin; anything longer is shoulder-length. butt monkey(1)The character who is always the butt of the demeaning joke or the "put him through hell" plotline. For whatever reason, the Butt Monkey seems to walk through life with a permanent "Kick Me" sign attached to their backs, invisible to them, but all too visible to the rest of the world. Nothing ever goes right for this character, and if something bad is going to happen to someone, chances are it`s going to happen to them. Long story short, it sucks to be the Butt Monkey. --tvtropesharem lead(1)Harem is a genre/plot frame that is mostly present in the media of Anime, Manga, Light Novels, Visual Novels, and Video Games. In everyday usage, babies (younger than 3 years old) are also children, but they are tagged separately; they should not be tagged child as well. Once a person becomes 13, they are an adolescent instead.cunning(1)A cunning person is characterized by being sly or apt at surreptitiousness; they are generally proficient at several forms of minor deceit such as avoiding providing the truth without resorting to lying, bending the rules by sticking to their letter rather than the spirit, or other similar tricks. This contrasts with a clever person, who has a sharp mind but doesn`t necessarily apply it to surreptitious behaviour.good luck(1)A character so mind-bogglingly lucky that it defies all chance. They`ll win every contest or lottery they enter (in especially extreme cases, they don`t even need to, the winning ticket will somehow come to them).immortality(1)Immortality is the ability to live for an infinite or inconceivably vast length of time. Humans, whose life span is limited, have long sought ways to extend their lives. While many may wish for immortality, it may be little more than a curse for the few who have it.kind(1)Having or showing a friendly, generous, and considerate nature.kuudere(1)A kuudere may be cold and harsh at first glance, appearing unemotional and practical, but this is just a facade that protects their innermost, tender, delicate feelings. They avoid the tsundere`s combative and occasionally immature demeanor; rather, they are hard to approach because they are `cool`-headed: often cynical, casually blunt and dismissive. Not to be confused with dandere which is someone being quiet for its own sake, usually associated with shyness.lolicon(1)Lolicon is a Japanese portmanteau of the phrase "Lolita complex". Often combined with a speed-eating technique that makes food seem to vanish spontaneously from the plate.physically strong(3)In comparison to the norm, someone who is physically strong possesses superior, sometimes even unnatural, physical strength. Said strength usually allows them to win fights, or at least to last longer; stronger people are also normally able to withstand harsh conditions more easily than the rest, and even do things as simple as carrying heavy weights around. This tag also applies when a race is stronger than others (think the Sayajin), as long as said weaker races are also a part of the cast.possessive(1)This character has difficulty sharing his/her belongings with other people. This applies to perceived belongings as well, and may apply even to other people. One favorite phrase of possessive people is "IT`S MINE!", though sometimes they will not say it out loud. Or to illustrate it: "THIS TAG IS MINE, I MADE IT, AND YOU CANNOT TOUCH IT!"ruthless(1)This character will stop at nothing to achieve their goals and will be unbound by any constraintssadist(1)A sadist obtains pleasure, sometimes sexual, from inflicting pain and/or other cruelty on another person.
