The Alumni Association Network Awards are the platform to recognize the accomplishments of one another on a large scale. 

Winners of the awards will be recognized at the annual awards ceremony, as well as through email digests, on our website, The Shell, alumni blogs features, social media, future regional events, and a digital banner for network signatures.

Each year, the Alumni Association will holds its annual Network Awards ceremony during the Volunteer Leadership Conference, to recognize the outstanding achievements of the academic, affinity and regional networks over the past year. Our networks and volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year, planning engagement opportunities for fellow alumni.

Network of the Year
To recognize outstanding achievement as a network in growing membership, creating impactful programming, expanding outreach and supporting the goals and mission of the University of Maryland Alumni Association.

Event of the Year
To recognize an event with outstanding creativity and breadth in engaging the UMD community

Do Good Service Award
To recognize a network that hosted an amazing service opportunity.

Alumni Volunteer of the Year
To recognize the outstanding service and leadership of Network volunteers.

Emerging Leader of the Year
To recognize the outstanding service and leadership of a new (within the last 2 years) volunteer.

A past alumni volunteer committee will be reviewing all nominations using an award nominations rubric and scoring system. Only nominations that are complete, thorough, and descriptive will be considered. See example below. Self-nominations are accepted.
