GoldenEye: Rogue Agent is a video game released in 2004.Electronic Arts has theJames Bond license and based on their previous efforts, they decided to use the name ofGoldenEye for their next game. They wound up creating anIn Name Only game that takes place in a non canonical world.

You play as a freelance agent who was fired fromMI 6 foryour ruthless and evil methods of getting the job done. You are soon recruited into a turf war betweenDr. No andGoldfinger, but soon lose one of your eyes. It is replaced with an electronic eye made out of gold, which is capable of projecting force fields and magnetic fields to protect yourself while continuing your mercenary work.

• All Just a Dream: Variation - the first level (Fort Knox) is actually a simulation.Given the game's premise, this could easily qualify as aMurder Simulators.
• Cutscene Boss: DefeatingGoldfinger is presented as a major objective; the confrontation plays out entirely in a cutscene.
• Dual-Wielding: You can wield almost any two weapons at the same time.
• Electronic Eyes: The Goldeneye

• Eyes of Gold: They had to justify the title, after all.
• Evil Eye: Again The Goldeneye
• Evil Versus Evil: It's Dr. No vs. Goldfinger.
• Good Is Dumb: MI6 fires Goldeneye because he 'killed' James Bond. In reality, the helicopter was shot down and crashed through the roof of Fort Knox. Bond was barely hanging from the hanging chopper, and Goldeneye was too far to reach out to him. He had no choice but to let the craft fall on Bond. Not to mention that getting fired caused the agent to turn evil in the first place.
• In Name Only: It's unrelated to the N64 game... and borderline with James Bond (007 only appears inthe first mission!)
• Mighty Glacier: The Predator MG and the Harpoon RL. they both slow down your movement and the predator actually takes a second to start shooting after you pull the trigger, but man do they clear house fast
• NGO Superpower
• No Name Given: As theThunderball rights imbroglio hadn't been solved, SPECTRE appears (the octopus logo is even in the cover) but is not referenced.
• Rogue Agent
• Role Called: In this case, GoldenEye is the nickname given to our main character.
• Unwinnable Training Simulation: the first mission is one of these. Afterward, the titular agent is fired fromMI 6 for allowing Bond to be "killed" during the simulated mission at Fort Knox.
• We Can Rebuild Him: Or at least the eye you lost during the second mission.
• What Do You Mean It's Not Heinous?: You can get unlocks by earning "rogue bonuses" which are awarded for particularly "evil" actions. Said actions are things like headshots, taking human shields, shootingExploding Barrels, hacking enemy turrets, etc... all things that are present in many other FPS and which an experienced player will already be doing by this point. Apparently we were evil all this time. Who knew?
• Where Does He Get All Those Wonderful Toys?: The octopus level has Goldeneye running around a black market showroom of high-tech and extremely expensive goodies for villains to buy and use against the peoples of the free world, including things like nuclear submarines. As an agent of Goldfinger, Goldeneye has access to a virtually unlimited line of credit and can use it to buy several of these wicked toys, though Goldfinger will eventually call up and complain that he's going to go broke if the spending spree continues.
• A Worldwide Punomenon: The Eye Powers' names.
• X-Ray Vision: The M.R.I. vision
• You Have Failed Me...: What happens after your first mission: you get kicked out of MI6 for ruthless behavior.
