Cactus blocks are falling for some reason. You, a little frog named frog, have to jump and dodge out of their way. Set them up in lines (Tetris style) in order to clear them off of your land.
-Pull them with your tongue while they're green and falling.
-Turn them into dust once they're dry, yellow, and set on the ground.
Just be careful using that tongue of yours. Getting squished is easier than you think.
-Raise your acrobatics game by upgrading your jump height and tongue length every time you clear 3 lines.
-Collect all the eyes and uncover the mystery.
-But most of all we hope you have fun!
Pullfrog is a game created byJoven Paul andMario Carballo. Made in Pico8 over the month of June 2020. We had a ton of fun making it and we learned a lot. If you have any feedback about it, feel free to let us know! We want to balance it just right so all kinds of players can enjoy it.
-Thanks for playing

I love this game. Only issue is that it feels like a PICO-8 game... because it is one. But if it ever gets a remake with more refined controls, and maybe some kind of multiple-lives system so I don't have to restart from one mistake, I would totally buy that.
Really appreciate the unique twist on one of my favorite games.
You are in luck we are working on a sequel for Playdate :), you can learn more at our devlog

I love the sprite work and lil animations they're super cute! Took me a second to get the hang of the game but now that I have I'm hooked. Other ppl have already said that not being able to push blocks onto the far sides is annoying and that the beginning phase of the game can be quite slow, I also don't think Simon is very fun to play as since his jump height is way too short, but thankfully I can still play as frog. Can't wait to see how you improve on the sequel, I'll be sure to keep a keen eye on your socials! :)
Glad you like the game! thanks for playing. You can follow the progress on the sequel following us in Twitterhttps://twitter.com/amanogames_
Great idea and great presentation but it's not ideal that pulling blocks is kind of awkward and limited (e.g. can't move blocks to the edges, and often end up slightly too close to a block so the pull fails) compared to sitting around just smashing appropriate blocks which is easy but less interesting.
I suggest allowing pulling at close range to just shift you back a space, and giving a few frames of leeway to pull a block after it makes contact with the ground (like in real Tetris).
Not sure what could be done about the edges without allowing either pushing, or player movement outside the play field. Maybe just have the block spawning system cheat for you by generating additional edge blocks where needed (if you're not already doing so)?
There is a bug where if you unlocked the pyramid from the lizard, the game would crash. One day later I realized there was another character that looked like one of the blocks in-game. I selected it and it looked like the bug posted byNiall Chandler Games (the one below me) I don't care about this bug I just wanted to let you know.
