Meet Adrienne

For Mayor of new york.
For The People.

Adrienne Eadie Adams is a mother, lifelong New Yorker, and proud daughter of Queens. She’s running for Mayor to make New York City safe, affordable, and accountable to the people because she knows what it means to serve, and she knows how to lead.

As Speaker of the New York City Council, Adrienne leads one of only six women-majority legislatures in the country and the most diverse Council in city history as its first Black Speaker. Under Adrienne’s leadership, the Council passed tough, meaningful reforms that advanced maternal and reproductive health, made housing more affordable, and expanded support for crime victims to stop crime and violence.

Adrienne Is In It For Us.

Adrienne won’t stop fighting until our city is safe, affordable and Trump-proof so families like hers and yours can stay, succeed, and build a future here. And she’s not just making promises. Adrienne is the only candidate who has stood up and fought for our priorities in City Hall, and delivered results for us. As Council Speaker, she has protected childcare, libraries, parks and schools from Eric Adams’s budget cuts, delivered 120,000 new homes that will lower rents, and started new programs to expand opportunity and solve our challenges.

As Mayor, she’ll build on these successful efforts to deliver for us.

Affordability + Housing

As a mother, Adrienne wants a more affordable city so New Yorkers can live here, stay here, and thrive here – just like she wants for her own family. She knows the burden of rising costs in our city, because it’s priced out her own family members. Adrienne is the only candidate who’s gotten homes built for New Yorkers across the city – over 120,000 – and increased funding for affordable housing programs.

As your Mayor, she will continue to make housing and life in our city more affordable – always putting what New Yorkers need ahead of what developers and special interests want.

Public Safety

Adrienne will make this a safer city, ensuring everyone, in every neighborhood, feels safe at any time of day or night. She knows the pain that cycles of violence inflicts on our communities. That’s why she implemented a first-of-its-kind program in the city to stop violence before it occurs by addressing the root causes of violence. And as head of the city council, she invested in law enforcement and programs that prevent crime before it happens.

As your Mayor, she will bring strong results-driven management to public safety, using best practices instead of ideology to make the city safer. She will implement policies that make New Yorkers safer and healthier through greater accountability, trust, and support for crime victims.

INvesting In Families

Adrienne has consistently fought for working families, because she personally understands the needs and the pressures they face. When the Mayor tried to cut funding for 3-K, libraries, parks and schools, Adrienne fought back and stopped him because she knew the devastating impact they would have on families across the city.

As Mayor, Adrienne will invest in our families so they stay in the city and can succeed. She will expand childcare to more families, consistently fund our libraries, parks and schools, and support older adults to age and live with dignity.

Trump-Proofing NYC

Adrienne will always fight back when Trump tries to harm New Yorkers. She stopped him from setting up an ICE center at Rikers Island, suing and winning a restraining order to block Trump’s extreme agenda. And after the MAGA Supreme Court overturned the right to abortion, Adrienne quickly passed the NYC Abortion Rights Act to protect reproductive healthcare, and she created a national model to support women unable to afford abortion care by delivering the largest amount of municipal funding of any city in the nation.

Donald Trump threatens everything that makes us New York. Adrienne has the strength and record to not only fight Trump’s efforts to hurt our city and families – but to keep him in check.

Record of Service

  • When the Mayor’s housing plan was going to fail, Adrienne advanced her own plan and secured the construction of 80,000 new homes to lower rents, and she secured $5 billion for deeper affordability, Mitchell-Lamas, NYCHA, tenant protections, and homeownership.
  • Led the fight against the Mayor’s budget cuts to reduce library services across the city and won permanent funding that kept neighborhood libraries open with full service.
  • Defeated the Mayor’s budget cuts to childcare and schools, securing over $2 billion to strengthen 3-K, Pre-K, childcare and K-12 education when he tried to cut funding.
  • Established the new CUNY Reconnect program that has helped nearly 50,000 working New Yorkers increase their wages by returning to college for degrees.
  • Increased transit affordability three years straight by expanding access to the Fair Fares discounted fare program for more than a million bus and subway riders.
  • Strengthened the City’s economy by leading approval of historic zoning reforms to support small businesses and promote industrial sector growth for green energy and living wage jobs for New Yorkers without college degrees.
  • Secured over $200 million in community safety programs to prevent crime, combat hate, and support crime victims, including the creation of the state’s first trauma recovery center in New York City to stop cycles of crime and help survivors of violence.
  • Led passage of more than 10 new laws to protect and expand reproductive healthcare access in the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade.
  • Delivered the largest amount of municipal funding in the nation to support direct access to abortion healthcare for those unable to afford it.
  • Created New York City’s first municipally-funded guaranteed basic income program, which supports pregnant mothers experiencing homelessness to improve maternal health and reduce child poverty.
  • Led passage of more than 10 new laws that increase maternal health resources to combat maternal mortality disparities affecting Black and Latina women, including greater access to doulas and maternal mental health support.
  • Created the city’s first Mental Health Roadmap that expanded community-based mental health programs, increased veteran mental health care, and established new peer-based mental health support programs in schools.
  • Consistently secured wage increases each year for human service workers that finally led to fair wages for these public servants, who are mostly women and people of color.
  • Led passage of new law to make New York the largest city in the nation to require its municipal vehicles to be zero emissions, exceeding U.N. Climate Change goals.
