I got into writing shell scripts because I manage websites, and existing tools never did exactly what I wanted. If you’re on GitHub, you probably know the feeling.

Some my top projects are

• Zsh-z, a directory-jumping utility. A drop-in replacement forz.sh, Zsh-z starts out by giving you increased speed and stability and adds lots of extra features.

• agkozak-zsh-prompt, a highly configurable prompt that provides you with an asynchronous Git status on any system (tested on everything from MSYS2 to Solaris).

• polyglot, a single script that produces useful Git prompts in numerous shells, includingzsh,bash,ksh93,mksh,pdksh,oksh,dash,yash,busybox ash, andosh . Prompt-related shell features are not very portable, so this project started as a bit of a stunt. I am pleased to see that people find it very useful.

• zcomet, my new Zsh plugin manager. The goals are simplicity and efficiency. So far the reviews and the benchmarks seem to show that it is achieving those aims.
