Following a reported deal earlier this year, OpenAI has confirmed that it will start running ChatGPT on Google Cloud services.

ChatGPT launched GPT 4o some days ago, and it has been met with a barrage of users trying out the AI model’s new image generation features. The company announced that the new surge of users is “melting” GPUs, and free-tier ChatGPT users will soon get limited image generation access.

If you’re content with what Google offers in Gemini, you might leave the AI assistant as your default option when it comes to long-pressing the power button. However, the digital assistant that you conjure with a button press or swipe up from the corner can be changed, and a new update to the ChatGPT beta means it’s now a default option.

A new means of using ChatGPT has just opened up, with the ability to talk to the AI chatbot via WhatsApp using “1-800-ChatGPT.”

After being announced earlier this year as “SearchGPT,” OpenAI has today officially launched ChatGPT Search, a new AI-powered search engine.

After being announced in May, OpenAI has confirmed that the upgraded Voice Mode in ChatGPT is being delayed.

According toOpenAI’s system status pages, ChatGPT is currently down for a subset of users, with many unable to use the mobile application onAndroid or other services.

Last week, OpenAI launched major updates to ChatGPT including a big focus on voice functionality. But, just a few days later, ChatGPT is losing its “Sky” voice option because it sounds a lot like Scarlett Johansson.

ChatGPT has started to add support for Google Drive integration, but it’s only for paying subscribers.

OpenAI today announced several big upgrades to ChatGPT and its GPT models, with some of the AI’s best features now available for free to all users and big upgrade that can use live video in your prompts.

OpenAI is equipping ChatGPT with a new feature named “Memory.” The tool allows users to train the language model on a more personal level, though users in Europe and Korea are currently left out.

Following the launch of Nothing Ear and Ear (a) this week, Nothing is also rolling out a new update for Nothing Phone (2) which delivers quite a few upgrades, including ChatGPT integration.

Earlier this week, OpenAI launched the GPT Store for custom experiences built on its platform, and the ChatGPT app on Android has the useful ability to launch these custom GPTs directly from the homescreen.

Google Assistant takes up the role of being your default assistant app across Android smartphones, but the platform has long supported using other apps for that functionality. Now, as LLMs take over, the ChatGPT app seems to be working on support for being an Android assistant app.

As OpenAI struggles to maintain balance amidst a sea of questionable decisions, the company has decided to release ChatGPT Voice – the virtual assistant that sounds impossibly real – to the public for free.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT really blew the lid off of the whole generative AI game, and it seems the product’s initial success isn’t wearing off, as new features are incoming for over 100 million weekly users.
