Google’s latest Android Auto update is causing a problem where the music player widget is unreadable, but you can fix it, at least temporarily.

The music player widget on the Android Auto dashboard is a quick and easy way to see what’s playing and control your music. It shows the title, artist, and album art along with basic controls. A tap on the widget then brings up the full music app you’re using.

But with Android Auto 15.2, a problem was introduced.

Users are reporting that the background of the music player widget on Android Auto is causing the text to become more or less unreadable, and we’re seeing the issue ourselves. The issue seems to be tied to Android Auto’s upcoming light theme, with the light version of the music player being turned on by default with no way to switch to the dark version. Oneusernotesthat if Android Auto starts while the car is in “night” mode (i.e. when the headlights are on), the issue doesn’t kick in. Another user notes that the issue“returned to normal” in the evening, but came back thenext day.
