Spotify recently introduced a “Create” button along its bottom navigation bar, but it’s really notthat helpful. Thankfully, Spotify has fixed this in a new update that lets you turn the “Create” button off.

It’s been months since Spotify first rolled out its new “Create” button on the navigation bar, with the button moving from its previous location on the Library tab down to this dedicated position.

Tapping the button reveals options to make a new playlist, collaborative playlist, “Blend,” AI playlist, or start a “Jam.” While all handy, many felt these options didn’t require their own dedicated button on the navigation bar.

As of July 31, Spotifyhasimplemented a community suggestion to allow users to turn off the “Create” button, and also rolled out the change. Spotify explains the option ona support page:

You can choose to hide the Create button from your app’s main navigation bar.

  1. Tap your profile picture at the top.
  2. Tap Settings and privacy.
  3. Under Content and display, switch Create button off or on.

Note: This setting is device-specific, so changes won’t sync across your other devices.

As Spotify notes, the setting is specific to each device, so you’ll need to hit the toggle on each device you’re using, or when you get a new device.

The option has rolled out to bothAndroidandiOSusers over the past couple of days, and should now be live on your device.
