Google finally rolling out Chrome for Android’s bottom address bar
In a move that has been a long time coming, Google is now letting Chrome for Android users have a bottom address bar.
Simply, this change lets you move the address bar with the tab switcher, three-dot overflow menu, and other shortcuts to the bottom of your screen. The current top Chrome Omnibox placement remains available.
Google frames this as a customization option: “Depending on the size of your hand and your device, one address bar position may feel more comfortable than the other. We designed this update to give you the flexibility to choose your preferred location — so you can browse with more ease.”
It’s certainly nice for one-handed usage given how tall modern phones are. Long-press the address bar for a new “Move address bar to bottom” option, with “Copy link” also appearing in that menu. Once live, you can also go to Settings > Address Bar.

Chrome for iOS gained this optionin 2023, while a bottom address bar was considered for Android years ago. This modern effort gained groundin October.
