Samsung will start rolling out Android 15 One UI 7 update on April 7

Less thantwo weeks ago, Samsung said to expect One UI 7 next month, and the Android 15 update is now set for Monday, April 7.

Samsung hasjust shared that the “official rollout of One UI 7 will start April 7.” It’s first coming to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, withbetas already available.

In the “coming weeks,” Android 15 is coming to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

In announcing today, Samsung is highlighting the “simplified home screen, redesigned One UI widgets and lock screen,” with the latter featuring the Now Bar for real-time updates. There’s the ability to long-press the side button for Gemini. Settings offers natural language search that takes you to brightness or Eye comfort shield if you enter “my eyes are feeling tired.”

In terms of Galaxy AI features, there’s:

  • AI Select: “a user can simple swipe the Edge Panel and click ‘AI Select’ icon when watching a video to save it as a GIF file.” 
  • Writing Assist: Summarize and format text. Available for Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series
  • Drawing Assist: “bring ideas to life with more than a single input, including combinations of text prompts and images or sketches.” Same availability as above
  • Audio Eraser: On Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 and Galaxy Tab S10 series
