Will Roland is a Brooklyn-based actor, born-and-raised in and around New York City. His notable theatre credits include the Original Broadway productions ofDear Evan Hansen, where he originated the role of Evan’s ‘family friend’ Jared Kleinman; andBe More Chillin which he starred as Jeremy Heere.
Will played quantitative analyst “Winston” for five seasons on Showtime’sBillions.Other television credits includeThe Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Red Oaks, The Mysteries of Laura,and the independent featureOne Penny.
Will is the recipient of a 2017 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album (Dear Evan Hansen) as well as a 2018 Emmy Award for Outstanding Musical Performance in a Daytime Program (Dear Evan Hansen). He has won two Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards (Favorite Funny Performance – Dear Evan Hansen; Favorite Onstage Pair [alongside George Salazar] – Be More Chill). Will was a 2018 Clive Barnes Award finalist.
Will was a regular performer onFoul Play,an interactive murder-mystery improvised web comedy created by Andrew Barth Feldman.
His regional and off-Broadway theatre credits includeSummer Stockat Goodspeed Opera House,The Black Suitsat Barrington Stage Company and Center Theatre Group,The Panic of 29at 59E59, and many more.
Will is also a proud longtime member ofJoe Iconis & Family: the repertory company of punk-rock musical theatre artists led by Joe Iconis. They have collaborated frequently over the last fifteen years, including concerts, productions, and the album,Album.
Will’s solo show,LoserSongshad successful runs in New York City in 2014, and in San Francisco in 2018.
During the pandemic, he frequently collaborated with fellow Dear Evan Hansen alums Andrew Barth Feldman and Alex Boniello on charity streaming events includingBroadway Jackbox andSupporting Rolls. These streams have collectively raised over $100,000 for a host of charities including: The Actors Fund, Feeding America, the national chapter of Black Lives Matter, and I Need Diverse Games.
Will is a longtime resident of Park Slope, Brooklyn, where he lives with his wife Stephanie.
