Zuhair Murad (Arabic:زهير مراد) is a Lebanesefashion designer and stylist, born inRas Baalbek,Lebanon. He launched his brand in 1995 and became a regular at Paris Haute Couture Week from 2001. His designs have been worn by global celebrities at major red carpet events, earning him international acclaim.
Murad was born in aMelkite Catholic family inRas Baalbek. After finishinghigh school, he moved toParis, where he obtained hisfashion degree.[1]
In 1995, Murad expanded his presence inBeirut by opening a third flagship store.[2] Prior to this, he had launched boutiques and showrooms onCharles Helou Avenue in Beirut andrue François I inParis. He later established a showroom inMilan on Via Borgogna. In 1999, he debuted a collection on the runways ofRome, which contributed to his inclusion in theItalian fashion calendar.[1]

At the2010 Emmy Awards,Nina Dobrev,Christina Aguilera,Wanda Sykes, and singerJewel were spotted wearing Zuhair Murad dresses.[8]Kerry Washington wore one of his gowns at the2011 Emmy Awards.[9] Princessal-Taweel of Saudi Arabia wore his creation when she attended the wedding ofPrince William andCatherine, Duchess of Cambridge.[10]
Blake Lively wore a Zuhair Murad dress[11] from his Spring 2012, Couture collection at the worldwide premier of her movieSavages at Westwood Village.[12] She wore a Murad dress in the 8th episode of the fourth season ofGossip Girl entitled "Juliet doesn't live here anymore."Kristen Stewart wore a Murad dress at the2012 Toronto Film Festival for a screening of her 2012 film,On the Road', and at the premiere inLos Angeles of her film,The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.[13]
