Yoon Chae-kyung (Korean: 윤채경; born July 7, 1996), is a South Korean actress and singer. Yoon began her career with debuted as a member ofPuretty under DSP in Japan during 2012 and the group later disbanded in January 2014. Following the disbandment, Yoon appeared as a contestant in the 2014Kara's reality show for searching a new memberKara Project. She also appeared in the reality showProduce 101 and later in the mockumentary seriesThe God of Music 2 which she became a member of project groupC.I.V.A and also joined the fan-made group ofProduce 101,I.B.I both respectively in 2016. Yoon later was added as a member of the DSP girl groupApril in 2017 and participated in group activities until their disbandment in 2022.
Yoon Chae-kyung was born on July 7, 1996, inIncheon and grew up inSiheung. She graduated from Eungye Middle School andHanlim Multi Art School.[1]
On September 5, 2012, Chaekyung debuted in the girl groupPuretty, which was a South Korean group based in Japan. They were planning to debut in South Korea as well.[2] Puretty had their first performance at the 2012 Tokyo Toy Show and sang the song "Check it Love"[3] which is thetheme song for the animePretty Rhythm: Dear My Future.[4] The group disbanded in January 2014 without making their Korean debut.[5]
In mid-2014, Yoon participated inKara Project, a reality show to competed become new members of the girl groupKara.[6]
In early 2016, Yoon representedDSP Media onProduce 101, a show where the final 11 contestants formed the girl group I.O.I. In the final episode, she was ranked in 16th place. On May 1, she released a digital single in collaboration withApril's Chaewon titled "Clock" (Korean: 시계).[7]
In July 2016, she was cast as a trainee inMnet's mockumentary seriesThe God of Music 2 with a few otherProduce 101 contestants and later formed the project girl group,C.I.V.A, which released the song"Why" featuringMiryo.[8]
In August 2016, she joined LOEN Entertainment's project groupIBI. The group released the digital single "Molae Molae" (Korean: 몰래몰래) on August 18.[9] On November 11, it was revealed that she would be joiningApril, following the departure of one of its members.[10]
Yoon debuted as a member of April with their third EPPrelude on January 4, 2017[11][12][13] The group officially disbanded on January 28, 2022.[14]
In February 2022, Yoon was confirmed as being cast on web-dramaCalming Signal, played role of Cha Do-hee.[15]
On April 22, 2022, Yoon decided to end her contract with DSP Media.[16] Later on April 25, 2022, Yoon signed a contract with Management A.M.9.[17]
In November 2023, Yoon starred in the KBS historical dramaKorea-Khitan War with played the character Queen Wonhwa.[18]
