Template for a 'rejected draft'

[edit]

Please create an inline template, similar in style to{{Not done}}, and include in the template documentation which is transcluded to the various inline check mark templates.Consider, for example, if the template is named 'Rejected draft' that a short version 'rd' might be created as an alias/redirect.

Template for “Wikipedia editors are volunteers”

[edit]

I would like to request a new user warning talk page template similar to things such as uw-vandalism, uw-warn, etc, to remind users that Wikipedia editors are volunteers, not employees, to be used when people make comments such as “do your job,” “you’re not doing your job properly,” or similar remarks implying that editors are paid staff. My proposed name for it is {{uw-notpaid}}, and I have created an example for what it could look likehere.SuperCode111 (talk)23:00, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request to add Billboard Colombia Hot 100 to Template:Single chart

[edit]

Template request: Add Billboard Colombia Hot 100I kindly request the addition of the new music chart Billboard Colombia Hot 100 to the module that manages the parameters used by the{{Single chart}} template.

Colombia now has its own official weekly ranking published by Billboard; however, the module currently does not include an entry for this chart, which prevents its use within chart performance tables in song or artist articles.

The request is to add a new entry to the module, similar to those already existing for other national Billboard charts (e.g., Billboard Argentina Hot 100).

Thank you in advance for reviewing this request and for any technical assistance in implementing it.

Suggestion for block templates

[edit]

I'm regularly active on the Requests for Unblock pages and we're steadily getting more and more AI-generated appeals - whilst I haven't run the data (since that's no way to definitely confirm this), it certainly feels like a good 50% of the appeals come from ChatGPT and not the blocked editor. The issue isn't going away, it's getting worse as AI is becoming more prevalent.

In view of the existing guidelines and essays which discourage AI-use on Talk pages in general and unblock requests in particular (e.g.Wikipedia:NICETRY &Wikipedia:LLMTALK), it's high time that we add a warning to the block template(s) asking editors not to use AI to generate their appeals since these are usually immediately declined.

Whilst I appreciate that this may not be read by everyone (along with the mainWP:GAB article), it'll save us a lot of time even in those cases. Instead of writing a post explaining the issue and manually linking to NICETRY over and over again, can we please add a single sentence to explain that AI-generated appeals will not be accepted with a link to NICETRY?

Whilst there are multiple block templates, the one where we see this most often isTemplate:Uw-spamublock - for hopefully obvious reasons.

I would suggest a line to say "Please do not use AI, LLM or chatbots to write your appeal - please seeWP:NICETRY for details." This could be anywhere you feel appropriate, but again I'm happy to give specific details on an appropriate location if needed.

If you think this is reasonable, I'll also be happy to provide other templates that could do with this being added (although I'd prefer this be added to all appealable block templates, I understand if this isn't possible).

I really hope I've brought this to the right forum, if not could you please let me know how best to proceed?Blue Sonnet (talk)05:14, 28 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Need a template/module that returns the number of unique internal links on a page, given a namespace (e.g. 0 for mainspace)

[edit]

Akin to{{NUMBEROFSECTIONS}}, I'd like to have a template called{{NUMBEROFUNIQUELINKS}}.

To get the number of unique mainspace links on a page, in this example, a WikiProject report page, the code would look like:

  • {{NUMBEROFUNIQUELINKS|Wikipedia:WikiProject Kentucky/OldIssues|0}} or
  • {{NUMBEROFUNIQUELINKS|Wikipedia:WikiProject Kentucky/OldIssues|ns=0}}

The default forns would be for "all namespaces", returning the number of all unique pages that are linked.

If unique links to a multiple number of namespaces are desired in the result, the code would look like either

  • {{NUMBEROFUNIQUELINKS|pagename|0|1}} or
  • {{NUMBEROFUNIQUELINKS|pagename|ns=0|ns2=1}}

My particular need for this is to obtain the number of unique articles (in the form of internal links) returned in the results of a{{Database report}} on a page. I use such reports to create specialized lists of issues in articles. With the number returned, I can use it to demonstrate when a backlog exists, or for comparing the number of articles affected between different types of issues (useful for backlog ordering), or for comparing the number of articles affected by a particular type of issue between different WikiProjects.

I assume this will require an underlying module. (I'd write this myself but my experience with module code is next to zero at this point.)

I have asked forsomething like this in the Community Wishlist, but it has been marked as "Community opportunity".

Review of proposed new template

[edit]

Hello, I have created a template that allows to directly plot data again based on the newChart Feature. It uses a common module and the purpose is to come closer to the look and feel of the previousTemplate:Graph:Chart. Let me know if the template is fine for you.

The template is here:User:McBayne/Template:ChartDirect--McBayne (talk)00:55, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

talk page editnotice creation

[edit]

I request the creation of the page Template:Editnotices/Page/Talk:ElevenLabs, with the content {{Generative AI editnotice}}, similarly to what is done with e.g. ChatGPT. I can't do it myself because it requires admin or template editing permission.
