WBCF (1240kHz, "NewsTalk 1240") was an AmericanAM radio station broadcasting anews/talk format.[1] Licensed to serve thecommunity ofFlorence, Alabama, the station broadcast to theFlorence-Muscle Shoals Metropolitan Area. The station was owned by Benny Carle Broadcasting, Inc.
WBCF went on the air in 1946,[2] and featured programming fromWestwood One,CBS News Radio, andFox News Radio.[3]
Company namesake Benny Carle was, from the 1950s through the 1970s, achildren's show host onBirmingham andHuntsville television stations, the latter of which (the presentWAFF-TV) he was a minority owner.
TheFederal Communications Commission cancelled the station’s license on January 2, 2025.[4]
