Most of those accounts on the list I created/updated are blocked either by now you or were blocked by AGK (back in Feb.), except for maybe for 5-10 or so of the 50 accounts I listed, the oldest ones. I did not request a check-user on the stale ones myself; Ansh666 did, but he understands now that is not helpful. My goal there was to have to a list of the accounts that have edited substantially, so myself and possibly others interested (e.g. Ansh666) can coordinate in a review/clean-up of the problematic edits, mostly of the stub articles these socks created. I noticed that you're trying to delete some "not notable" Russian firearms. I agree with you, and you can find many more on theList of Russian weaponry page. Also, please look at theList of Russian inventions page. It is filled with Russian propaganda claiming to have invented everything from the wheel to the computer. It also uses Wikipedia pages as references and is filled dead internet links, and completely unverifiable foreign language references that do not meet Wiki standards. As for the NA-2 and NA-4 I also vote for deletion as they are not notable and certainly not deserving of their own pages. Both are dead end prototypes. Both articles consist of only two sentences. If the Armalite AR-15, a real production rifle that evolved into the M16 and semi-auto Colt AR-15 does not merit its own page, then the NA-2 and NA-4 most certainly do not. Hi - Edith Flagg was born in Romania, so she is listed under Romania. It was decided that rather than risk trying to sort people by the country they are most active in (which could lead to some people being listed under ALL the countries they've got shops/business activity in), sorting by nationality (place of birth) was a consistent rule of thumb which meant that there could only be one place on the list for each name - their place of birth. I apologize for assuming bad faith on your part. Your pointing out your edits from back in 2007 convinced me that I was in fact in the wrong. You will understand that it certainlylooked like you were a meat puppet when you made your first edit under your more recent IP, so I hope you can forgive my having drawn certain conclusions from that. You were also acting in good faith when you opened your recent SPI. ArbCom was already looking into it, as I had openly admitted to using multiple accounts on ANI. They really did come to the conclusion that my editing was not disruptive, and that I was justified in hiding my identity after the previous incident. (I'm still not going to give you the worst, non-public details of that earlier incident unless you tell register an e-mail with your account, though.) They said that I needed to stop editing under multiple named accounts, so I plan on ending my Wikipedia activity after the dust has settled on the Bagworm issue, and I promised them to limit myself exclusively to this account until then. Not to beat a dead horse until its head falls off, but regardingthis edit: if you go back and look at his contributions list, a very,very large proportion of his JLit edits are only semi-constructive at best. Most of his sources were questionable online poetry mags, with articles representing a consensus among modern English poets rather than Japanese literary scholars, and it got to the point of blatant advertisement at times.His last post blatantly expressed nostalgia for the 2008-2012 period when I was inactive and he could get away with that, and also insisted that I was "new to the area" of Japanese literature even though I had been editing in the areain 2005. Until I got involved he refused to interact with the rest of the Wikipedia community, and whenever I tried to bring in comments from the broader community he referred to the tag-team he had formed with one other COI modern English poetry edit as "consensus". Why did he retire? Did he realize he didn't have a case to bring to the Wikipedia community, and that it wouldn't take long for the same thing as happened to his tag-team partner to happen to him? SearchTalk:Haibun andTalk:Prosimetrum for the word "consensus" and you will quickly find him referring to his own opinion (shared by the banned user Tristan noir) as "consensus". I don't expect you to go back and do extensive research on these issues before commenting, but please at least read my comments before just assuming I am lying. It seems you have created the png from the larger jpg (File:UDR Sign.jpg), so there's not visible difference between the the smaller jpg and the png, although there is a minor size difference 99 Kb jpg vs. 95 Kb png. I think the design, like that of many artillery pieces, was licensed, so it's hard to disentangle the licensed production vs. units that were sold by the manufacturer, and the arms trade in that era was even more shady than it is now. In the case of Bonkers the Clown, an Admin reviewed the case and unblocked him. In the case of L'Origine, a different Admin reviewed the appeal and declined. You were supportive of the idea that Jehochman proposed: "A message is most effective when it matches the format of the media. We're an encyclopedia. On Feb 11, I suggest we fill our front page with articles, blurbs and news about mass spying and privacy. That will send a strong message, and help educate people. It's sort of like what we do on April 1, except serious instead of foolish."

Since this proposal received so much support, I and several others have done our best to begin the process of implementation. That said, the proposal is very controversial with Main Page insiders who have, understandably, objections that boil down toWP:NOTADVOCATE.

It's valuable to have feedback from people who oppose any deviation from the status quo, but we really need feedback from people who understood Jehochman idea, supported it, and could tell us whether we're succeeding in "implementing the vision" that Jehochman laid out and how to improve the proposal.

Unless you were the one who added the text I removed (I don't know if you were), my removal wasn't a "partial counter-revert". Removing claims which are both unreferenced and wrong (or at least quite misleading) is something that goes under the banner "best to have no info than wrong info". I think Jimbo said something like that. I saw your review of my DYK nomination and thought I'd respond here. Let me start by saying that I take copyright issues seriously and do try to respectWP:C.However, let's consider a few practical aspects:

• The author of those passages is 71 years old. If he uses e-mail, he keeps it well hidden. So contacting him to request permission is probably not an option.
• There are not that many sources on industrial activity taking place in a remote corner of Austria-Hungary 120 years ago - certainly not online.
• There are not that many ways to say what the original source says.
  • "In 1896, the second furnace was replaced with one 380 m³ in volume, able to produce 120-140 tons of cast iron per day."
  • I suppose we could change that around a little.
  • "In 1896, a new furnace was installed. This was 380 m³ in volume and had a daily production capacity of 120 to 140 tons of cast iron. It replaced the original second furnace."
  • But that's about the best I can think of, given the limitation of having just one source at hand.

To be clear, I'm not trying to justify violations of copyright. The rules are as they are. But in eight years on Wikipedia, the "close paraphrasing" conundrum is one I've never quite mastered. If you stick too closely to the source, you're plagiarizing. If you deviate too far, you're performing original research. If it were just 1-2 short sentences, I wouldn't have posted about. But it's 3-4 paragraphs that are like that, sentence after sentence. Since this is my first DYK review, I may be overly paranoid in that regard. It's probably best that someone else, more experienced, takes over the review. That seem to be what happens at DYK in cases like this. As for writing advice, when I'm confronted with a situation like that, i.e. when I have a single source I can cite for a sizable amount of material, what I try to do is jot down the basic facts in an bullet outline, with as little wording as possible, and then I go back a couple of days later and expand on the outline with my own words. (The reason for the time delays is that if I expand on the outline immediately, I end up using too many phrases from the original that simply stick in my head, but that's probably just me. If I may provide an advice, please take a break. I've also had those "screw Wikipedia, whyin the hell am I doing thisat all?" moments, but again, after cooling a bit I've always realized that contributing to Wikipedia is actually agood thing – you're making your notes public for the world's benefit. Other people are improving those notes further, huge numbers of people are learning from them, also you can always come back and use those notes to recall a few things etc.

There willalways be people not respecting your (or mine, or anyboy else's) hard work here, but why should you care? In most cases (excluding the vandals, of course) such people aren't evil by the nature, they're most probably just unaware of the big picture. Also, there's always something to be learned from everyone, even from the people appearing to be hostile at the moment, and Wikipedia is a great place for that.
