Miguel Vera's name correction.

[edit]

Editing naming as indicated in the citation at findagrave.com. According to his tomb stone at Arlington Cemetery his name wasMiguel Armando Rodriguez Vera, his father being of the last name Rodriguez, and his mother of the last name Vera. In Spanish culture the father's last name comes BEFORE the mother's last name and BOTH last names are officially used to distinguish individuals. Therefore, his name was Miguel Armando "Nando" Rodriguez-Vera. Please be sure to name him accordingly.

Here is the citation link:https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/126740596/miguel-armando-rodriguez_vera169.252.4.21 (talk)13:12, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It is possible to add this photo of Obama with Miguel Armando Rodriguez Vera's nephew Joe Rodriguez to the page? Here's the link to that photo. Link:[1]https://picryl.com/media/president-barack-obama-presents-the-medal-of-honor-97386f Thank you.169.252.4.21 (talk)13:32, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you could use that but you would need to upload it to wikicommons - although it looks like we already have a couple of relevant images you could use -here's one from the same ceremony andhere's one from a separate ceremony at the pentagon.Smallangryplanet (talk)17:51, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The issue isn't the structure of his name, but that we generally don't allowFind A Grave as a source. Do you have any other sources for his full name?Smallangryplanet (talk)17:53, 13 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Kadhalikka Neramillai (2025 film)

[edit]

Recently you reverted edits from 2409:40F0:4101:FBDE:8000:0:0:0 on the pageKadhalikka Neramillai (2025 film). They have since made more edits. I've tried to fix them up myself but would appreciate it if a more experienced editor such as yourself reviewed them as well and decided if they should just be reverted. Thanks,Sushidude21! (talk)11:37, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Sushidude21! - I think you made some good edits! Thanks for that. I added aRefimprove template and removed an unsourced box office comment. I'm mostly just patrolling recent changes so I have no subject area expertise, but at least superficially now the lead matches the body. Thanks again.Smallangryplanet (talk)12:31, 21 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Antisemitism in China

[edit]

Just to avoid any misunderstanding, my claims came from the Israeli ambassadorhere, and I've added it as an expansion of the original statement. Thanks.60.240.26.249 (talk)10:05, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@60.240.26.249 Is there any sourcing that is not from the Israeli ambassador and the US govt?Smallangryplanet (talk)10:30, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The source is already included in the article. I'm happy to remove the VOA source if it's not reliable.--60.240.26.249 (talk)11:07, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Why is what the Israeli ambassador says about antisemitism not relevant? Are you simply anti-Israeli?JerryJJJJJJ (talk)04:06, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@JerryJJJJJJ I don't remember what the context was here, sorry. My guess is there was an un-attributed claim from just this one ambassador. It wasn't about relevance. Regarding your second question, please don'tcast aspersions.Smallangryplanet (talk)07:58, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't like the idea of giving a templated barnstar or award or similar, but I did want to express my thanks for finding and improving sources forPotential American ownership of the Gaza Strip. And especially, for pinging me after you had done so giving me the opportunity to re-evaluate my !vote in the AfD discussion. It's a good example of how Wikipediashould work - collaboration and giving others the opportunity to change their mind to improve articles. Gaza Bombing

[edit]

Thanks for your input on the WWII comparison issue. Just wanted to share some thoughts for whatever they may be worth to you. If you don't reply, I shall not communicate with you again.

While I agree that the original "Surpassing" notion - first published in Foreign Affairs in June '24, has been repeated (verbatim) by other media, I am dubious that this should be viewed as "extensively covered," which suggests new reporting. Would also point out that your links to the comments of theUK Defense Minister, as well asa second link quoting the same comment, each make a point that specifically calls outcasualties as the key consequence of the WWII bombings.

In answer to your question on option 2, I would suggest that as editors we have a responsibility to predict the reader's understanding of what we've written. To me, it is inarguable that a very natural and unremarkable understanding of the comparisons we make on tonnage and destruction will be to assume therefore that casualties were similarly higher. Thanks again.Johnadams11 (talk)00:13, 22 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

G5 speedy nominations

[edit]

Hi there, and thank you for your help making Wikipedia better! I wanted to let you know that a few of the articles you recently nominated forG5 speedy deletion were kept because they did not meet the stated criteria. In this case, articles were either created before the editor was blocked (and thus, weren't violating a block) or the article was significantly edited by at least one other editor. I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. Take care,Significa liberdade(she/her) (talk)22:26, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I havereverted your revert here. While theWP:ELBURDEN is clear, I would be interested in collaborating (or you just checking my work, when I actually get to it) on the ELs linking to EI?FortunateSons (talk)10:34, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There is a discussionhere,Huldra (talk)22:04, 27 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you @Huldra for linking that discussion, I had lost track of it. @FortunateSons I've reverted your revert - the inclusion on the link has not been challenged since it was added except for by you. The discussion Huldra linked to makes it clear that this is decided on a case by case basis, rather than universally applied. Let's continue this over on the noticeboard page.Smallangryplanet (talk)09:01, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Works for me. I’m happy to let some other contribute to that discussion. Just for the sake of transparency, unless there is a significantly different outcome than there currently is, I’ll challenge every use that I don’t believe adds significant value underWP:ELBURDEN.FortunateSons (talk)09:02, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Smallangryplanet, Off topic, but I found it when checking if you had responded, so I might as well add it here: please be mindful of edits such asthis, the JCs reliability varies significantly by date.FortunateSons (talk)15:28, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. In this case it was within the unreliability window, hence removing it. (and the information was cited from other sources also)Smallangryplanet (talk)16:30, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but one of us is really reading this one wrong:In the 2024 RfC, there was consensus that The Jewish Chronicle is generally reliable for news until 2015. Additional considerations apply for Palestine/Israel topics between 2015 and 2020, with some concern that related topics may also require further considerations. Post-2020, The Jewish Chronicle is considered generally unreliable regarding Palestine/Israel topics, and requires caution regarding related topics. In the 2021 RfC, there was no consensus on whether The Jewish Chronicle is reliable for topics related to the British Left, Muslims, and Islam; there is otherwise a rough consensus it is biased in these topics. Where used, in-text attribution is recommended for its coverage of these topics. The removed reference is from 2009?FortunateSons (talk)16:36, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I guess I readPost-2020, The Jewish Chronicle is considered generally unreliable regarding Palestine/Israel topics, and requires caution regarding related topics as "pre-2020, we didn't have an opinion, but now think it is unreliable w/r/t PIA" rather than "it is only unreliable about these topics post-2020". If the latter is the case then that's my bad, thanks for reverting.Smallangryplanet (talk)16:39, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
That can happen, don’t worry. The close is “pretty complicated”, even according to the closer. And that one doesn’t even mention that the regular expert opinions published by the JC are evaluated separately, which is always a bit difficult.FortunateSons (talk)16:45, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your ec onspecial:diff/1297130059, that's not a good reason to violate the wiki rules. All violations should be removed. I agree there are quite a few there.TaBaZzz (talk)09:52, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's violating the wiki rules. It's a timeline of events occurring during the "Gaza war", which is a multi-front war, despite the name. (Our article on the war itself –Gaza war – covers plenty of events happening in the West Bank and within Israel, not to mention Syria and Lebanon and etc.)Smallangryplanet (talk)10:06, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
such claims still need to be sourced, and can't violatewp:synth.TaBaZzz (talk)11:41, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, the item inquestion is sourced and is not synth (per source). I've added a better source needed tag (we probably could add one to the whole page, because there's a lot of dubious sourcing going on there), if that's your concern? @טבעת-זרםSmallangryplanet (talk)11:45, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Still the claim that it is related to the topic is unsourced. It's not about finding a /better/ source. Current source doesn't claim such relation. It's about providing such source at all, or otherwise violatingwp:onus.TaBaZzz (talk)14:04, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

It's proving tricky to find one that lists any specific date of death, unfortunately.Smallangryplanet (talk)13:41, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Correct, so how is his page allowed to say he died March 8?????? But I cannot update it to the actual date he died???Peachykeen888 (talk)13:44, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Good point! I've added citation needed tags to the relevant parts of the page, and a better source needed tag to the portion of the page about his death.Smallangryplanet (talk)13:49, 5 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Smallangryplanet, regarding this RV of yours:special:diff/1311852133 please see the source of this info at footnote #30. Please also see that the lede sums the body and thatWP:CALC is notWP:OR.TaBaZzz (talk)12:13, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@טבעת-זרם I didn't see the footnote, apologies for that. I still think the edit was justifiably revertable forWP:OR because it is possible for people under 18 to be refugees. Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Smallangryplanet. After reviewing your request, I haveenabledrollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installingTwinkle orUltraviolet. It just adds a[rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revertclear and unambiguous cases of vandalismonly.Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, seeWikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
  • Rollback should never be used toedit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on mytalk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, seeWikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) andWikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks!Malinaccier (talk)13:36, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again, I want to stress that rollback should only be used to revert obvious vandalism and should never be used to revert good-faith edits or in the controversial topics space. In your request for rollback, an editor expressed concerns that you would use the rollback tool in the contentious topics space. After looking through your edits, I am hopeful that you will use rollback properly, but I did want to leave this extra note to emphasize that rollback only be used to revert vandalism. Happy editing,Malinaccier (talk)13:39, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely, thank you @Malinaccier. I will very definitely only be using this power to revert obvious vandalism, just as I've been using Twinkle in my counter-vandal work so far. Best,Smallangryplanet (talk)15:29, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary account IP viewer granted

[edit]
The temporary account IP viewer logo, composed of the Wikipedia globe with a user and an IP address

Hello, Smallangryplanet. Per your request, your account has beengrantedtemporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals usingtemporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that isonly to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to reviewWikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:

  • You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed atFoundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
  • Accessmust not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).

It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:

  • When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
  • Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
  • Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or moreIP addresses (using theCIDR notation format).

Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visitingSpecial:Preferences. Happy editing!– robertsky (talk)18:36, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Robertsky! I will follow the guidelines and only use this for counter-vandalism purposes. Appreciate it.Smallangryplanet (talk)18:39, 14 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up on Draft:Richard Allen

[edit]

Hi Smallangryplanet — thank you again for taking the time to review my earlier submission. I’ve now fully rewritten the draft based on your feedback, using only independent, reliable sources from 1971–1976 (Enterprise Sun, Boston Globe, Boston Herald, and Nieuwsblad van het Noorden), plus the 1985 BWDA trade magazine profile. The new version focuses on Richard Allen himself — his background, his transition from physicist to inventor, and the independent coverage of him during that period — and removes the product-focused content you flagged. I also added direct quotations from the original articles to make clear that the sources are biographical, not promotional.Thank you again for the helpful guidance.BigAl32963 (talk)17:10, 2 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

your revert on: Allegations of genocide in the October 7 attacks

[edit]

I understand why you re-added the sentence in the lead "to have been". But what i don't understand is why you deleted the Cambridge assessment. It is clearly relevant to the article and it discusses very obviously Hamas's intent to commit genocide and previous remarks pointing at their antisemitic doctrine. See below some quotes from the article, you are welcome to re-read the article. If there is a specific sentence or word you find wrong in what i wrote it can be corrected. please re-add the sub-chapter you deleted: Cambridge University Ideological Assessments.

From article:

"In Hamas' case, the systematic nature of the attacks – their careful planning, coordinated execution across multiple locations and deliberate targeting of civilians – provides the first indication of such intent."...

"The specific genocidal intent can be inferred from a careful examination of Hamas' antisemitic worldview enshrined in its foundational Covenant, the systematic anti-Jewish policies that it has advanced over decades, statements of top officials both before and during October 7th , and the existence of a specific plan to destroy Israel and its Jewish population."...

"UN Watch and the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-se) released a report detailing the incitement to hatred, antisemitism and terrorism rampant in the United Nations Relief and Works Agency in the Near East (UNRWA) school system in Gaza. Examples given in the report are conspiracy theories about Jewish world domination; praising Hitler;..... According to ICTY case law, genocidal intent can also be inferred from 'the general context, the perpetration of other culpable acts systematically directed against the same group, the scale of atrocities committed, the systematic targeting of victims on account of their membership in a particular group, or the repetition of destructive and discriminatory acts'....the events of October 7th speak for themselves of Hamas' intent to murder Jews"Rockwizfan (talk)09:37, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Adding the paragraphs directly from the report, without making it clear that that's what is happening, is dicey, I would check withWP:TEAHOUSE or similar because I'm actually not sure where we stand on reproducing creative-commons text. I'm also not sure what you mean by "the Cambridge assessment" because that paper is from the Israel Law Review - it ispublished by Cambridge but that does not make it a "Cambridge University Ideological Assessment."Smallangryplanet (talk)19:33, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Love Without Boundaries

[edit]

Hi, I've tried very hard on this draft not to use any words that would read like an advertisement, and to stick only to verifiable facts and figures. Should I just remove the sections: "Impact", "Fundraising", "LWB Programs" entirely? And any EIN Press releases? Thank you for any guidance you can provide!Akindofmagick (talk)01:46, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think that could help - possibly summarise the LWB programs portion as well. Generally speaking though you also will need to find external sources that cover LWB, rather than press releases etc. You might see if you can find relevant publications on theWP:RSP list discussing the org.Smallangryplanet (talk)12:22, 6 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed 75% of the content, and all references except those from third party and the IRS. Does that suffice? Thanks in advance!Akindofmagick (talk)02:54, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Ken O'Keefe

[edit]

I'm aware that many pro-Palestinian activists get smeared with the antisemitic label unjustly, but Ken O'Keefe is an antisemite. This becomes clear if you review his career for the last ten or fifteen years. He's either changed or has shown his true colors. That's why many pro-Palestinian voices like George Galloway, the Free Gaza Movement, and six different pro-Palestinian student groups have officially renounced his support.

As much as some of his earlier actions might have been admirable, he's now openly associating with far-right figures like David Duke, spreading a variety of conspiracy theories, and making inflammatory comments about Jews in general, not just Israelis or Zionists. You can see this for yourself on his Twitter page. He's probably gone insane.

Of course that's not something we can just add to an article. But everything I changed was properly sourced. For example, he was kicked out of the Marine Corps for the use of illegal steroids, not for "speaking truth to power" as he later claimed. He's been described as peddling antisemitic conspiracy theories by several reliable sources. It was the leader of the flotilla to Gaza that blamed him for starting the violence on the ship.

I mentioned this stuff on the talk page, please add to it.ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAndMen (talk)03:58, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@ItsRainingCatsAndDogsAndMen My revert did not change the text about him being an antisemite. The David Duke stuff in particular (amongst all of it) is damningand accurately sourced to the SPLC, which also discusses the ways in which Palestinian groups have distanced themselves from him. I'll update this to reflect what's in that article. A vague reference tothe Pro-Palestinian crowd is not how this is described in that source. The Marine Corps line was not sourced to anything and the current phrasing is correctly attributed - if there is an accurate source about this, it would beWP:DUE to include it alongside the current attribution.Smallangryplanet (talk)13:28, 8 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Rejected Draft Dutch M53 helmet

[edit]

Hello!

You recently rejected my draft due to sourcing, as well as another reviewer, yet I used a book to source my draft. I used the bookDe Nederlandse stalen helm 1916 - 1992 ISBN: 978-90-90-31777-9 by Kevin de Joode. This is a specialized book made by a dutch work group to collect all information on Dutch 20th century helmets and is a wealth of information.

Is this not an adequate source?

@Protoj I agree with the other reviewer that this draft needs additional sourcing to show what we callWP:SIGCOV. You might ask around atWikipedia:WikiProject Military history to see if anyone has ideas for more places to get info on this helmet.Smallangryplanet (talk)21:23, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If the problem is the source than the book covers it greatly. The helmet was the standard combat helmet of the Netherlands from 1955 to 1992. Meanwhile the book covers 1916-1992. It is not a trivial mention of the M53 or a small book. In fact it is one of the best sources on 20th century Dutch helmets. It contains pictures of every manufacturer stamp to M53s found and repurposed outside the Netherlands.protoj (talk)21:41, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that there's no sourcing (on the page)other than the book. As that SIGCOV page says,Lack of multiple sources suggests that the topic may be more suitable for inclusion in an article on a broader topic. Is there another page that this information could be added to, if there's no additional sourcing on the helmet?Smallangryplanet (talk)21:45, 10 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

RegardingRendezvous with Rebels: Journey to Meet India's Most Wanted Men

[edit]

Hi. I am here for an response from you regarding theRendezvous with Rebels: Journey to Meet India's Most Wanted Men where you have tagged Refimprove. May I know for which claim/statement in the article I shall improve references?SaTnamZIN (talk)07:43, 11 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I tagged it as Refimprove because the sourcing was to the book's author / publisher and didn't have a lot ofWP:SIGCOV, I saw the ANI case you filed just now and if other editors are cool with the sourcing as is I am very happy to retract my refimprove tag. Sorry for the delayed response - I am in the UK and am not able to edit Wikipedia 24/7, please remember thatwe're all volunteers here. :)Smallangryplanet (talk)14:53, 11 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
