Albert of Saxe-Coburg And Gotha

[edit]

I changed the image in the infobox because the photograph previously on it was not of the best resolution, so a portrait of him, or a higher resolution photograph of him would be better. Also, if it contained an image of Queen Victoria at the time of the wedding, or a little bit later, it would be better to put that on the Royal Consort Part than a portrait of Albert, or just add the Victoria image as a second image in the part.Richard the Lionheart MS (talk)19:52, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That's understandable. But please bear in mind that a photograph of a historical figure may be preferred in such cases to a portrait painting. Regardless of my personal feelings about this, a change in the infobox image of any article usually requires a consensus on that article's talk page. You can bring this up atTalk:Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha and see if your suggestion garners any support.Keivan.fTalk20:24, 13 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New images

[edit]

I’m not a professional photographer, and I imagine most of us aren’t. How do you go about adding new images to Commons—such as ones found in an e-book, magazine, news site, and so on—when it’s permitted to do so? I’d appreciate your guidance. Cheers.MSincccc (talk)16:07, 3 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Start by reading throughthis page on the Commons, which pretty much says everything that I would also tell you. Pay attention to details onlicensing, and you can seek advice atthe help desk if you have any questions.Keivan.fTalk03:13, 4 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request for opinion

[edit]

I am thinking of writing and publishing aWiki-graphy (a short account of my time on English Wikipedia) and wanted to get your opinion first.

I am considering mentioning a few editors I have learned from and, only with explicit permission, possibly using brief screenshots of talk-page exchanges or article sections. Usernames or excerpts would be included only if the editor is comfortable with that.

I would appreciate your view on whether this seems reasonable and appropriate. Thank you.MSincccc (talk)08:11, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I would personally be cautious a little bit because not everyone might like to have their conversations shared. Little anecdotes here and there should be fine though. Try using your own words rather than just copy pasting or screenshotting the info.Keivan.fTalk14:52, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your response. I have decided to publish an on-wiki essay, about my time and experience here, in my own words.MSincccc (talk)09:07, 15 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother edit

[edit]

Hi, I was just wondering if it shows on your end that I changed the title of the painting. Over the past few days I've noticed that some edits are being recorded differently than what I actually did. For example, it says I changed the title, but on my end I was editing something completely different. I added her date of birth to the early life section. I'm confused because this has happened a few times now, where the edit I made is showing as something else entirely. My last edit on her page was removing the year she was baptised, since it was shortly after she was born. Could you check who it shows as having changed the title on your end? Also, do you know if there's some kind of glitch that can cause this? Sometimes the system seems to mis‑label edits, and I don't understand why. Thank you.ItsShandog (talk)09:49, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Oh never mind sorry when I'm looking down the page it shows another editor done it but when I look at your revision it makes it look like I changed the title lol so was confused.ItsShandog (talk)09:50, 14 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
