This template is used for user talk pages about living persons which aresemi-protected orfully protected temporarily due to the blocked user abusing access to their talk page.Before you protect a user talk page, consider whether amending their block to prohibit editing the page would be more effective - this might not be possible for long blocks where you don't want to prevent access for the full period.
When used for semi-protection this template categorizes articles intoCategory:Wikipedia semi-protected user and user talk pages. When used for full protection this template categorizes articles intoCategory:Wikipedia fully protected user and user talk pages.For pages which are protected for sock puppetry,{{pp-sock}} should be used.
This template will not be visible on pages that are not protected.Adding this template to an article does not protect it. Protection can only be applied byadministrators, and can be requested atWikipedia:Requests for page protection.
