Hi, I would like to ask if anyone can verify the content in this article; feel perhaps there have been significant over-generalisations/inaccuracy re: prevalence of WS Old English, its dialectical evolution, impact of norman language and culture on the development and usage of Old English, and significance of Winchester -amongst other things.
West-Saxon dialect and the study of Old English as a whole, is a topic rife with debate; so while I appreciate there are many different academic opinions I would suggest -with this in mind- that less definite expressions are used? I would like help and permission of author to address problems with article?
