a concise definition at the beginning

[edit]

I thought, in a journalistic way, that there should be a simple and clear one sentence definition for the layman at the beginning of the article. Afrond is a botanical term but it also has considerable use as an English word, apart from the precision of a scientific definition. The extensive peroration that follows is useful for the less casual user or for someone who wants to be as precise as possible; however, I found it difficult to understand from the article what a frond actually is without using links, and that struck me as less helpful than perhaps it ought to be. I have footnoted the Webster's definition.NaySay20:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Point of View

[edit]

I disagree with the tone and some specifics of this article. While there is some variation in how botanists apply this term, it is barely a technical term. There are no references for this article, and I plan to rewrite the article and include references. If anyone disagrees with my changes, make edits and we can discuss this.Michaplot (talk)23:02, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
