ALT 2...that theChandigarh chair(pictured) only gained recognition in the late-90s after European dealers bought the discarded ones from the local government "for peanuts", and exhibited them widely in the West?
We have a whole paragraph with no sources,AlpinistG, and some copy-editing is needed too. This is an unusual subject and I would love to see it on the Main Page. I also think the authorship mystery might make a hookier hook.Surtsicna (talk)23:55, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I do not see how/where citation #7 verifies what it is supposed to verify,AlpinistG; #8 does, so #7 can probably be removed. The same problem arises with citation #9, but here we have no back-up source.Surtsicna (talk)22:19, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Y #9 was actually an amalgamation of many scholarly resources in one place, but now i've only picked 2 out of those that are more relevant to the para - hope this helps. Fixed other refs too, thanksAlpinistG (talk)09:26, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article is fresh and long enough, cites sources, and there is no obvious copyright violation. The cited source does not say that the name Jeanneret chair is erroneous,AlpinistG. Do you think you could also propose a hook about the chairs becoming a hit in Europe after being discarded in India?Surtsicna (talk)10:43, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Y Done Hi@Surtsicna:,@Launchballer:, added ALT2 + added a stronger academic reference for the "erroneous" bit along with the relevant quote from the book. That along with the current source that highlights the involvement of the Indian designers should work. Thanks for taking a look!AlpinistG (talk)15:55, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I love ALT2,AlpinistG. Unfortunately, we still do not have a source for "erroneously". Names do not have to make sense;Mexican hydrangea is neither Mexican nor a hydrangea, but we do not call the name erroneous because sources do not. I recommend removing the adjective and letting the text explain why the name might not be ideal.Surtsicna (talk)16:26, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Surtsicna Fair enough, sources do not explicitly say 'erroneously' but the gist was that. Maybe I was drawing the conclusion for the reader (or even editorializing). Removed. Thanks for your close reading!AlpinistG (talk)16:37, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
