Tajewala Barrage is a now decommissioned but existing oldbarrage across theYamuna River, located inYamuna Nagar District, in thestate ofHaryana,India. Completed in 1873, it regulated the flow of theYamuna for irrigation inUttar Pradesh andHaryana through two canals originating at this place namelyWestern Yamuna Canal andEastern Yamuna Canal,[1] as well as the municipal water supply toDelhi.
In 1999, theHathnikund Barrage was completed to replace the aged Tajewala Barrage which is now out of service.[2]
